In the morning, I walk up to Varic. "Good morning." I bow. "I think I will be riding with the folks today. Since, I lost mine and Celia's horse. If you need  me to take the reins, I will gladly do it."

I set off to find some solitude and say my morning prayers, "Good day. Light our way. Love and peace will soar. All for you, Pelor" I sit on the ground and crossed legs. I position myself facing east where the sun rises, and I close my eyes. Darkness comes, but the sun pierces through my eyelids where I can see light.

Celia looks sadly at her horse. "Sorry again..." she whispers softly to it.

Tikak decides that he needs to climb first thing in the morning.  He climbs up to the top of the tallest tree he can find and looks around at the surrounding area.  Despite the cold it really is quite lovely.  He's going to need to find warmer clothing though if it gets colder.  Something that doesn't hinder his movement.

He sees the others start to stir, and he watches them for a while.  Maybe we will get to where we are going today?  He eats a bit of his food while sitting in the tree and watching.  

Once everyone starts to get ready to move, he decides it is time to rejoin the group.  Off we go!

Both horses get hooked up to the carriage and the group sets off on the second day of their journey.  The carriage is a little cramped but the Uthodurnians are friendly (for the most part) and provide pleasant company. After traveling for a small period of time you come across a partially snow covered horse carcass that looks to have already been picked at. The snow fall has stopped falling while the sun shines bright in the sky, causing a constant brightness due to the reflection off of the snow. The strong cold breeze is combated by your warm clothing and those that are in the carriage find that the cramped space is more beneficial in fighting off the cold. The morning road remains quiet and the mountain range is beginning it's slow descent in height. The Crystalsands Tundra is not too far off. 

I need a Survival Check from Af since he is driving the carriage and a Perception Check for anyone wanting to keep watch up front with him. If no one volunteers Varic will fill that role.

Tikak tries sitting inside the carriage for a time, feeling quite at home in the cramped spaces that he grew up in.  However, he gets restless quickly, after trying to nap and failing to fall asleep.  He stands by the window, watching the outside for a while.  At the next stop, he gets out of the carriage and sits with Af so that he can see around better.  He bundles up in a far too large coat that he got from somewhere.  

Af would notice Tikak starting to piece something together in his mind, obviously struggling with it.  Finally, Tikak asks out of the blue, "Af, why can't animals get along?  Why do they have to eat each other?"

Perception: 22

As we head out on our path towards our destination, I focus on the horses and keep a good steady pace. 

Survival 13

"That's... how they eat," Celia says, not sure how else to explain.

"One must do anything in order to survive." I say not looking at him. "I'm sure those griffins needed something to eat to survive another day. And unfortunately, that was their last day. We needed to survive more."

I think about how grim that sounded so I change my inflection, "But that's why we give thanks to whoever for having another day to live. Whether it be to a deity or yourself. Our will to live is no different than chasing your dream. Finding your true love. Seeing the world. It's the measure of how much will you have to live. Pelor guides my will."

"Hmm.  I haven't heard much about Pelor, but I like the idea that someone wants us to live to dream."  He stares off into the distance.  "I want to live.  I have a lot to do."

"Everyone does," Celia says, smiling, "There's nothing wrong with that."

"I guess it just bothers me because back there we decided that our living was more important than those griffins."  Tikak sighs.  "That's all."

"Let's not dwell on their deaths or the outcome." I smile at both Tikak and Celia. "Varic," I say out loud so he can hear me, "How far along are we?"

"We're still many days out from the village. We're close to the tundra and as long as we can avoid most of the dangers we'll make good time," Varic says from the carriage.

(I don’t want to seem inactive I’m just trying to allow the group to have a conversation and I’m also waiting for Rianath to start posting again)

Celia nods, "Right then... um..." she looks to the party, "I guess we should do our best to keep an eye out for more dangers... don't want to lose anymore horses right?" she asks with a laugh. "I don't think the only thing in our way is going to be griffons..."

"Yay we get to see new things!  Let's go let's go let's go.  I'm excited to see what else is out here!  Umm..  First, is there anyone who may have something in my size I can wear to keep warm.  This place is cold."  Tikak doesn't like imposing, but his reptile nature is not naturally suited to this kind of environment.  

As the day progresses the the mountain ranges continue declining until, as the sky begins to darken, you reach the edge of the Crystalsands Tundra. A sea of diamonds greets you as the high winds push them in an almost constant motion. 

I need a Survival check for whoever is looking for shelter.

Survival 10

"Oh my." I say with awe.

I have never seen something so beautiful in my life. I slow down just watching the landscape. Noticing the winds too, I tried to focus on the path. It's very hard since I like to see rolling seas for hours. But this is extra special for me.

Directly in your vicinity, you don’t see any areas for protected shelter. There are plenty of spaces around that are well suited for tents and have minimal cover from the few trees that reside this close to the tundra.

(Over the next few days I’m going to be looking for a 5th player, or 4th depending on if Rianath starts posting again, in hopes that it will create more internal RP opportunities)
