This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Macawi sighs. "if they were in needs, I would have given my money. They use the money as an excuse to hurt people." She goes the the thief in front of her an looks for her gold and serches the body. [role below] She turns to Journey. "I am in a great debt to you my friend. Tyr made sure you were here for me in my time of need. I shall be there for you with my shield and shell." She raises the morningstar over her head and hits her shell over her back causing some skull mater to fall off the morningstar.
Ourick, finished rummaging through the rooftop thief's belongings, ascends down to the alley below next to Fil. "Thank you for the support, cleric. Even with the help, I've taken a pretty big blow. Would you be able to patch me up?"
"I'm sorry Ourick, but I will need to rest for some time before I am able to heal anyone - those thieves were a bit too troublesome. Maybe Journey has some more potions... "
Ourick finds 23 gold, 16 silver, 5 copper, two daggers, one long bow, a set of leather armor and a set of thieves’ tools on the thief.
Macawi finds all of her stolen gold as well as two daggers, leather armor and a small jade pendant worth 5gp.
Filvendor finds 5 gold, 11 silver, leather armor, a magic scroll, and a piece of paper ripped out of what appears to be a history text. The page reads in part:
“Baldur’s Gate began as a harbor town where traders would meet with “ghost lighters” — folk along the Sword Coast who used lights to lure fogbound ships to shore. When those ships ran aground, the ghost lighters would scavenge the wrecks and haul their plundered goods to Baldur’s Gate, nestled on the north shore of a bend in the River Chionthar, and sell their booty. In the years since, Baldur’s Gate has grown into a walled city…”
Scrawled in the margins of the page in chicken scratch is “Yes! What an idea! What a history! This is our new grift! We will just set up a lantern and I will play the wounded pup. The boys just need to hide and maybe play bad guy. Then the suckers will come to us. I can’t wait to tell them!”
Journey will look to Filvendor and say, “I can identify that scroll for you if you need me to. I think we should head out now, report what just happened to our contact.” He looks around and stuffs a few more pebbles and rocks into his pouch. One can never have too many pebbles or stones on hand.
Ourick turns Mac "2 Healers in one group?! I do not have to fear even the mightiest of foes with such companions!" [I took 8 dmg, I'm at 2/10 HP, but maybe we can just short rest at the tavern].
Ourick says to everyone "I think getting to the tavern is a smart move. Maybe we can relax for a bit with a drink!"
I look over to Journey. "Thanks, Jo. Can I call you Jo? And, remind me at the tavern and I will have you take a look at this scroll - I'm very interested in finding out more information about it. I think we should make our way to Tarina, for now." I put a hand on Macawi's shell, saying, "I hope bringing you back to life doesn't become a common occurrence..."
Ourick easily guides the group the rest of the way to the Elfsong Tavern. As you approach you see a relatively well-maintained two-story building. A slightly faded wooden sign hangs from an eave and reads “Elfsong”. As the party nears the front door a massive female half-ogre emerges from the building and takes a seat on a stool that is too small for her just to the side of the door way. She gives a loud yawn and then rests here head on the great club she is carrying.
As the party enters the building, it becomes clear that the tavern is just opening. The front entrance opens into a large taproom at the back of which an elderly half-elf behind the bar is giving instructions to two men. This spacious area is empty of clientele except a lone commoner at the bar who is sipping an ale. Smells of breakfast are emanating from what must be a kitchen somewhere in the building.
A suit of armor stands in the corner by the entrance. The word “Klank” has been scratched into its helmet. Strangely, the armor seems to turn its head and follow you as you enter the building.
The half-elf calls out, “Welcome. Can I help you?”
Ourick will search the body of the thief on the roof and say out loud "This lot got what was coming to them, a battle and a swift death"

I approach the old man and search him, saying, "Kelemvor won't be needing anything of this..."

[Only 2 spell slots. Boo.]

"Ourick, I can take care of some if your wounds. How bad are they and where are they?" [ I can heal 5hp per long rest. How many HP are you down?]
"We shall report this to the first fire fist we see. After I heal Ourick we can head to the tavern. Agreed?"

Resting at the tavern sounds good, but I think you should be healed now, Ourick. Who knows what may happen on the way to the tavern...
"I believe Fil is correct. This was very unexpected.", feeling the sore wound on hr neck.
Macawi walks up to Ourick. Says a small prayer with her eyes closed. She opens them and then places her hand on his shoulder.
I cast lay on hands and heal Ourick for 5 hp from my pool. " We all need to take care of each other here."
"you are the experts, thanks"
[Question: my character sheet says 110 gp. Not sure how that got there. Do you know, Ryan? I think I was only supposed to start w, like, 5gp]
[Fil, everybody who wrote up a backstory and had their character sheet sorted out by the deadline I gave got 100gp and two health potions.]
[I totally forgot about my background, my bad. I just added it, check it out if you wanna learn more about Ourick]

Journey shakes his head, “I would prefer the full name, if you don’t mind.” He follows the group to meet with Tarina.
