This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Journey will stand by Macawi’s side, looking down at the two people he killed. He will begin to search their bodies, as well as Tarina’s if he is able to.
[Not sure which one you will want, so use whichever roll you want.] Perception: 7
The guards seem shocked to see Ourick flying, but they immediately recognize the banner of the Flaming Fist one his back. One of the guards shouts toward Ourick, “We will follow you.” They begin to run in the direction of the fleeing pirates, but in their heavy armor, it is unclear if the guards can catch up with the pirates. The guards are currently 100ft behind the pirates. Ourick sees the pirates continue to run in a group toward the docks, but noticing the guards after them, they dart into an alleyway. Ourick sees which alleyway they ran into, but loses line of sight to them.
((Ourick, if you want any additional specific information, go ahead and ask and roll perception.))
By the time Filvendor exists the tavern, the pirates have passed behind a building. He can’t see them. But, Filvendor can hear them and feels like he knows where they are and where they are going. He sees a narrow passage between some buildings and believes he can cut the fleeing pirates off if he runs through it.
((Journey, I will use investigation since you are actually using your hands to search for things.))
After spending a few minutes, Journey finds a pouch containing 32 gp and 15 sp tucked in Dead-Eye’s vest. Journey notices that Dead-eye is wearing two gold necklaces (worth 25 gp each) and a blackened gold ring with a white pearl set in it (worth 125 gp). Tarina has a rusty key, 2 gp and 10 sp on her. Between all the fallen, there are 5 scimitars, 6 daggers and four sets of studded leather armor strewn about. Each of the dead pirates inside the tavern has 4 sp on them.
Filvendor darts into the alleyway just in front for the lead fleeing pirate. His three shipmates are close behind him. This pirate is a thin half-elf in his fifties with leathery skin and several tattoos on his cheeks and neck. He looks terrified and halts 10 ft away from Filvendor. He says, “Ye killed Dead-Eye. We won’t ever bother ye again. We just want to get t’ our ship and leave. Tarina can keep the gold she stole!” The pirate is still grasping his scimitar in shaking hands and has the look of a trapped animal.
"That sounds good to me, but I think you're going to have to convince my eagle friend here" (I point up to Ourick, or in the general direction I think he is).
Journey will take the ring and gold necklaces and hand over the gold to his Tortle companion. He also gives over Tarinas key and will tell her where it came from. He says, “Would you mind splitting this between the rest of our group once they come back?” He will leave the rest of the gear as well, finding a place to sit until the rest of the party returns.
Macawi will take the 34 gp and 46sp from Journey. [Kyle, Does Macawi know you took the necklaces and ring?]
Macawi calls out to Alan. " I believe it is all clear." She sits down at the bar and pays Alan the two gold for the round of drinks for the place. (2gp) Macawi ask about Igor and Liam, "Were those two regulars? do they have families?" She also asks about Tarina," Do you know where she was staying or where she might keep her things?"
Macawi sadly orders a beer from Alan and sits there waiting for her friends.
The four fleeing pirates are visibly relieved by Filvendor and Ourick’s statements. They empty their pockets and toss their coin pouches to the ground. Some of the coins scatter across the cobble stones. They also toss their weapons and begin to continue running toward the dock.
I will grab up the coin bags and toss then to Ourick, saying "Let's divvy up that coin when we get back, yes?" I will then grab the weapons and make my way back to the tavern.
Alan cautiously makes his way out of the kitchen. You hear him reassuring Skoona. He says, “You did well Skoona. Thank you for coming to me. Next time I will make sure to let you know if a fight is coming.” Skoona replies with some snark in her voice, “Some communication is all Skoona ask.” Alan orders Klank and the bar hands back to their posts.
Alan takes Macawi’s 2 gold and eyes the tap room for damages. He says, “I suppose your deposit will cover the clean-up. But, next time, let’s not start tossing fire around a wooden tavern, alright?”
Alan looks at the corpses of Liam and Igor. “Shame about them…and shame about Tarina too, I suppose, even though that one was a pain in my side. Liam and Igor worked at a warehouse for a trading company. Not much work for them with the gates closed. So, they have been spending most of their days here this week. Neither spoke of having families to me.”
Alan goes back to the bar and starts pouring a drink for Macawi. “Tarina kept her personal life to herself, but I think she lived near here. She hired Skoona for a couple of jobs over the years. Maybe she knows more.”
The Flaming Fist guards catch up with Ourick and Filvendor as Filvendor is gathering the coin. Flabbergasted and out of breath, the dwarven guard with a long red beard asks Ourick, “Why in the seven hells did you tell us to follow you if you were going to let them go? Who is your commander at the Flaming Fist anyway? I have half a mind to report you for these shenanigans!”
“I apologize for the overreaction, I feared they would try to fight when we confronted them. But as i Iooked them in the eyes, I realized that enough blood has been shed today on their account, I wasn’t going to stoop to their level. Without a leader, they won’t be a threat for the near future, especially without weapons. But feel free to pursue them and bring them to justice.” Ourick turns to Fil. “Thanks for having my back. You possess a true soldier’s courage.”
The dwarf’s eyes narrow as he eyes down Ourick, “We’ll never catch them now! Maybe I have a soldier’s courage, but I still have a guard’s arrest quota. Nabbing those four could have put me on easy street this week! And you still haven’t told me who your commanding officer is!” The dwarf rests his head in his hand. With the outrage fading from his voice he says, “You know what. I don’t even want to know. Just give us our cut of what they dropped.” He holds out his hand matter-a-factly to Filvendor and Ourick.
Filvendor found 2 gp and 21 sp on the ground as well as a hand crossbow, and 3 scimitars.

I run through the narrow passage, readying my longsword.

Seeing Fil next to the pirates, Ourick swoops down quickly to his side. “Empty your pockets and leave or die like your leader!”

[Journey didn’t try to hide the fact that he took the rings, or necklace, so it’s up to you if Macawi noticed or not.]
