I look at the guard who spoke. "You ran a little. Be thankful for the exercise. We are taking these earnings, all of them, and if you have anything to say about it, talk to Zodge." I attempt to turn away and head toward the tavern.
The dwarf becomes red-faced, but there is something ominous and almost unnatural in Filvendor’s demeanor that causes the guard to hold his tongue. The human guard, who has been silent until now, says, “C’on Gilfort, let’s get out of here.” The two guards turn and start walking.
Once they are a few yards away the dwarf calls back, “Zodge takes care of his own, unless they muck things up. Something tells me you mucked things up.” He chuckles and keeps walking.
Filvendor and Ourick arrive at the Elfsong Tavern as Macawi and Alan are discussing Tarina.

Macawi sits at the bar and drinks her beer. Every time she takes a sip you can see that she detests it but it trying to fit in. Macawi looks defeated and tired. "There was 34gp and 46 sp. That is 8.5 GP and 11.5 Sp each rounded down. I think there were some weapons and other things, but you got to check with Journey. "
"Tarina had a rust key on her. I don't know what it could be used for. I asked Alan, and he said that she lived around here. Skroom has had dealing with her and they did work in the past together. We should talk to her. We have to find something on the cults!"
I walk to where Skoona is sitting and hand her the beer. “Sorry about all of that. We didn’t have much time before they arrived. Tarina needed help... not much good that did apparently. They went straight for her and got her before we could take enough of them out. Were you two close?”
Journey will tell the group about the ring (blackened gold with a pearl inset worth 125gp) and the two necklaces (gold worth 50gp each) before they head outside. He wants to keep the ring as he can use the pearl for spell work. He will hold on to the necklaces until they find someone to sell them to. Journey didn’t take any of the armors or weapons left behind, nor does he take a cut of the gold offered by Mac. Journey seems to be using some kind of set of tools to mess with the ring, slowly bending and warping it.
Skoona’s grimace softens a bit after being offered a beer. She hesitates for a moment and peeks her head through the front door before taking it. With two large gulps she finishes it and hands the empty mug back to Ourick. “Thanks, almost lit on fire make me thirsty. Me and Tarina not close. Only work together sometime. I am muscle.” She flexes a bicep the size of a tree trunk and gives a broad snaggle-toothed smile. “Tarina need something from somebody. I go with Tarina. Person always give Tarina what she want.”
“You sound like a good ally to have! Did you ever go to her house? We want to see if we can find more information on what happened to her, and also get some information she promised us.”
To Ourick Skoona says, “I never go to Tarina house.” Skoona pauses and considers Ouricks words. “I like Tarina. You do right by her ... Most time meet her in front of butcher shop. It closed now, but 3 blocks that way (she points south) and one block the way (she points west).”
Skoona considers the key Macawi shows her. “No, I no know that key. Tarina keep many secrets. Key probably important to her.”

If needed, intimidation 15
((The intimidation succeeds))

((Congratulations! Everybody just earned level 2))
Ourick walks into the tavern without saying anything, just listening.
[level 2 hype]
[I wonder if we should roll hit die here. I will: 7
[Sorry, are we doing fixed?]
[I told dndbeyond I wanted fixed when I made my character.]
I gather the group near the bar and order a drink. “So, how did we make out? Did Dead-eye and the other pirates have anything on him?”

[I have fixed hit die]
[Can I see Skoona right now? I’m assuming we split up the money Mac had, added mine to my sheet]
((It is your choice to roll or take the fixed HP increase at level up.))
Ourick saw Skoona, looking grumpier than usual, sitting on her stool outside the front entrance as he entered the building.
I order an extra beer other than the one I already got. “Let’s go talk to Skoona and see what we can find out about”
[if at least one other follows, I want to go outside and hand the beer to Skoona]
I follow Ourick
I will follow as well.
