"Nicely done." Rubin says as he is putting his crossbow bolt back in its case. He moves into the room and looks around the area, before checking the guards for anything of value or interest.
Mardon provides the Help action to offer advantage to Rubin if he wishes, moving further in to search for the crate while being on The Lookout for more trouble.
“You could’a done the same. Dirt nap for two guards isn’t the stuff of ballads,” Mardon says. “Maybe it’s the sewers or the flame tossers, but this mission has got me cranky. Can’t wait for a damn bath.”
OOC: Out of the tower leads to the area behind the portcullis we could not get past earlier, an unexplored area, and the “back to the basement” returns to the area we already explored, correct? I think he was asking “where can we go to advance to our goal,” essentially. That’s what Mardon is looking for as well. If “out of the tower” leads to an area they have not already cleared and searched for the item, then that is the way he will go.
(OOC - just posting in the thread ready for induction into a group. Ander Tealeaf is a Celestial Warlock halfling, here to provide healing and support)

OOC: Is the DM allowing you to join immediately, where we are? Or for later?

Behind the portcullis is probably a yard, you assume. There is still the staircase.
"Hehe, a'ight chaps," the halfling says as he turns around, hands raised, "Let's just take a moment, yeah? Name's Ander, a Grey like you. We've been watching you t'ree." At that moment, Ander's owl familiar flies in and lands on his shoulder. "This here is Clover. An' ya know, for t'ree sneaky buggers, ya can make a helluva ruckus." Ander tilts his head this way and that, as if searching for something behind the two in front of him. "Though I think ya may have lost one down in what I can only assume would be the sewers. Well, after your little scuffle down by the gate, we thought we'd take advantage of the opportunity. Perhaps, seeing as opportunity has alluded us, we might help you finish the contract for the Greys?"
Ander's garb is plain and simple. He has four daggers strapped to his leather armour, two on either side of his ribs for quick access. He definitely doesn't look strong or intimidating, but rather he comes across as almost bookish, a reader, rather than a bounty hunter with brown tussled hair, fair skin and smiling eyes. A small component pouch hangs at his belt for easy spell casting.
Rubin initiative: 26
Rubin also takes quick aim and looses four bolts at the guards. 2 from normal attacks, one from crossbow expert, and one from dread ambusher.
Attack: 14 Damage: 16
Attack: 8 Damage: 18
Bonus action Attack: 15 Damage: 18
Dread Ambusher Attack: 11 Damage: 16 plus dread ambush Damage: 5
Mardon kills the guards.

No, there is nothing of value in the room. Where are you headed next?
What are our options?
the staircase, out of the tower or back to the basement.

(OOC - not sure, just got messaged with the thread. He said he'd induct me today/tomorrow. Also, DragonDenn - fancy seeing you here from Ekuepool!)

(OOC: hey there!)
Rubin nods to the stairs. "Let us keep moving upwards then..." He heads in that direction.
Mardon follows Rubin.
As you head up the staircase, you spot another figure wearing grey hunter garb sneaking along the stairwell.
Mardon points his crossbow and says levelly, "You're spotted. No sudden moves. You casin' this place, too? Gang affiliation, or free agent?"
SpieltJoos, why don't you introduce your character?

"Any help would be appreciated." Rubin says with a nod. "Lets just get this done so we can get out of here." He nods to the stairs upwards.
