Ander pulls out the eyelash cased in acacia gum, says "Indespectus" and casts Invisibility at 3rd level, then puts his hands on Rubin and Mardon's shoulder.
"Now gents, remember you're just invisible, not silent, so try to keep it quiet." He starts walking up the stairs, not overtly trying to make a heap of noise, but not trying to be stealthy.
(So Rubin and Mardon are invisible for the next hour, until you do an action or I lose concentration.)
Mardon follows at a distance, moving slowly and deliberately to maintain the invisibility and not make any noise, or be close enough to risk someone bumping into him.
Ander will inspect the flame thrower as they clear the room. (Is that investigation check? 16. Or an arcana? 10)
"Well, it's not conventional, but we could hide in a closet I suppose. If we do that, I can heal up Rubin some more prior. Just hope there's no patrols," Ander chuckles nervously. "But it might be worth it with several groups of four guards up this tower. And I'm not sure what is behind that door at the top."
You discern that it is probably a magic item, and the nature of the item might make it unstable.
(OOC - Hang on, sorry - I’m confused. I thought we hadn’t done a short rest but we’re pushing forwards & were resting after this next push? Also, there were several groups of guards before the door at the top that Clover saw? Ander isn’t invisible, so if there are guards, he’s going to be seen. Or have those guards gone somewhere & we had a clear walk to the door?)
OOC: I think the plan involving Ander approaching and posing as a client is underway? Or at least that’s my assumption? It might be a while before we get NPC response to progress it, as the DM will be busy for a bit, from the sound of things.
(OOC - that's what I thought, but I was also expecting a heap of guards after my familiar scouted ahead. Unless the short rest that he thought we took meant they left their post or went to bed?)
"Ah Rubin, be careful carrying those flame things around. They don't look the most stable, though there's definitely something magical about them. I hope that's not what we're here for."
“Could well be,” Mardon says. “Makes me wonder if this whole mission has already gone fubar. We were supposed to retrieve a crate of contraband weapons from some place called Ravinica. Those sure are bizarre weapons that seem like they could be the very thing. Could be these guys, whoever they are, already busted open the crate and put the weapons to work. We might not have a nice neat package to deliver. Might be a matter of collecting a bunch of these things from bodies. I hate it when we have bad intel on a mission.”
"You're tellin' me. Well, we'll try to figure something out as best we can. If we have to chuck... wait, place a few of those flame things into a cart and haul 'em away, then so be it. But if they're only meant to be getting the shipment recently, they may not have unloaded whatever it is yet." Ander pauses to think for a moment, then continues, "Which doesn't fill me with ease. If the flame things aren't the shipment, then what have these fellas got waiting for us further on?"
Rubin remains silent, not wishing to have all of them speaking up in a tower filled with enemies, but he would nod, even if the others couldn't see him do so thanks to invisibility.

"Evening gents. Might I suggest you don't shoot the messenger?" Ander raises his hands in 'surrender', then points at himself, "Seems that you've had some issues with THE shipment, an' my boss has sent me to make sure delivery has been made. Word has it that the shipment was compromised, an' my employer can't have fumbling fools messin' with his reputation. By the looks of the bodies at the gate, you've already tried to deal with them, but are they gone?"
As one of the guards goes to answer, Ander puts his hand up to stop them, "Let me guess. You want to suggest that perhaps I am the one that caused said ruckus at the gate." Ander chuckles to himself, but loud enough for the guards to hear, "I'm a halflin', does it look like I could kill a bunch of guards single-handedly? That's rhetorical gents, which means you don't need to answer." Ander takes a step towards them, his hands raised once more. "Now my employer needs confirmation on THE shipment. Would you mind showing me that it arrived, and is safe and sound? Up to you whether you bother your boss, Ironfist, but I need to get back to Ravniva as soon as possible."
(Phew, I think I got everything in there how I had played it in my head. While all this is going on, Ander is watching the guards to see if they give any hint of where, or what, the shipment is - such as looking in the direction of where it is stored, or if they look at the flame thrower things if they were carrying one. So I'm not sure how many rolls you want here, haha, but I'll put a few in to start and tell me if you need anything else!)

" Hmm, that's weird, da boss told us it was weird cuz there were no halflings in ravnica just today. "

Mardon heads further in with the others.

yes

You makeyour way up to the top levels to the door, the door is locked.
OOC Btw, I will not be able to post as frequently the coming weeks, as more things are happening, the game will continue, but at a much slower pace.
Mardon hangs back, allowing Ander to open the door, not wanting to break the invisibility.

“Damn straight, if that stuff is worse then we’ve gotta nip this in the bud here and now,” Mardon says.
Rubin remains silent, not wishing to have all of them speaking up in a tower filled with enemies, but he would nod, even if the others couldn't see him do so thanks to invisibility.
Mardon waits, maintaining stealth and invisibility, cautiously ready to see what is ahead when it is revealed.
Oh, oo that's what you are doing.
So Several guards come down and see Ander.
" Hey, what are you doing down here? "
