As the spider makes its long descent down the tower, it notices 3 humanoid figures scattered throughout the staircase, motionless. As it reaches the floor, however, the spider is submerged in a thin layer of water, easy enough for a humanoid to walk through, but too deep for the familiar. The spider does notice a wide hallway at the bottom though.
The walls in the hallway don't offer enough traction for the spider to climb on, so it's limited to the tower base. However, with the familiar's darkvision, you notice multiple rooms branching out from the hallway.
"Based on Ferdiand's information, the staircase may have enough strength to hold multiple people if we go down slowly, considering the figures he saw." Icierys begins to unwind his rope and looks for a stable enough anchor point. "That said, using rope as a safety net isn't a bad idea. If we tie everyone's together, we should have enough to reach the bottom, or close to it." He glances further downward, trying to make out the figures Ferdinand described. "Though I hope the figures themselves are nothing to be worried about."
Ferdinand snapps out of his spider sense and the spider reapears in ferdinands hands, from where it crawls up his left sleve. Ferdinand stands up, pats his hands on his legs and says: So there are a total of 3 figures in the stairwell. I could not make out details, but they were motionless, might as well be statues. But i have my doubts on that. All the way down is a hallway with multible rooms branching off of it. the walls are slippery, my little friend could not gain traction.
"I think if we tie ourselves together that will be safe enough, that way if some parts of the stairs give way, those that are on solid ground will be able to keep others from falling." Dyrdamande says, looking down. Then she asks Ferdinand, "the things, the creatures your spider saw on the stairs, do they look alive, or dead?"
Jayne leans over to face the inside of the tower once again and puts a hand to the side of her mouth, yelling, "Hello?!" She then moves the hand to the side of her ear to listen for any response.
„Spiders have many eyes, which makes it easier for them to look. But it only makes it harder for me. I could not tell if they were alive or not, just that they are motionles.“
"Normally, I'd agree to tying ourselves together, but if one of us falls, the added weight to other parts of the staircase could make them crumble with us," Icierys says as he continues to study the stairs. "It may be somewhat overly cautious of me, but I wouldn't have lived this long if I wasn't so cautious." He pauses for a moment before glancing at Ferdinand. "You don't happen to have magic that can slow a fall, do you?"
"Nothing wrong with caution. My life would have been easier had I more regularly used some. That said, it may just be a matter of pressing on. Perhaps one of the lighter of us can start descending first, with us increasing weight as we go. That way we can ease the pressure of the stairs, testing it along the way. The obvious problem is that if something goes wrong, it leaves us alone on the stairs."

Dyrdramande loops one end of her rope around her waist and knots it tight. She keeps the rest looped loosely diagonal across her shoulders, just in case she should need to throw a line out to someone falling, or worse, in case she falls. Then she brings her bow to hand, and places a few arrows in the quick quiver on her hip. After that she follows after Rhys just as slowly and carefully as he was. "This place isn't going to explore itself." She says with more than a bit of wry sarcasm.
Icierys waits for the rest of the party to descend before following. "Between my armor and my size, I'm easily the heaviest here. I'd rather not shatter the staircase before everyone has a chance to descend."
Just before Ferdinand is about to descend, Icierys pulls him aside. "When we get close to one of those figures you mentioned, let me know. I'll try to determine if they're undead of any sort."
As you all make your way down, Rhys is the first first to reach one of the figures. It's slumped against the tower wall, it's head looking at the ground. Its skin is pale, almost ghostly in hue, and shriveled. From its mouth, you can hear very raspy, faint breathing. As you get closer to it, it simply turns its head to stare at you with cold, dead eyes.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ferdinand would have warned Icierys when they would be above one of the creatures so he could use (i assume) his divine sense before the group approaches.
Hey, DM, if Ferdinand (using his memory of his spider's descent) was able to forewarn the group that the first creature was another revolution around the spiral staircase, can we say that the ranged fighters stopped on the opposite side where they could see the unknown creatures from across the chasm?

Can the spider walk along the wall to the hallway?

Rhys
Testing the first couple stairs by slowly putting his weight on each one, Rhys starts descending the staircase. It's slow going.

Ferdinand desends just before the dragonborn and will alert him when they are close to the figures, maybe one turn on the staircase above.
