Hey, DM, if Ferdinand (using his memory of his spider's descent) was able to forewarn the group that the first creature was another revolution around the spiral staircase, can we say that the ranged fighters stopped on the opposite side where they could see the unknown creatures from across the chasm?
Jayne stands on the stairs across the way, looking both nervous and courageous, as she watches Rhys approach the first body. If it looks like Rhys is in danger, she's ready to cast an eldritch blast.
Rhys rounds the last bend of the staircase, and stares at the humanoid. I would like to see what kind of humanoid they are, as well as if they are in need of medical attention.

At Ferdinand's warning, Icierys focuses his attention inward. A slight pulse of energy ripples out from him, rushing past Rhys and washing over the humanoid figure.
As you turn you focus towards the creature, you receive no signs of extradimensional forces or undeath involved. The humanoid is still breathing raspily, though he doesn't seem to have sustained any life-threatening injuries. The only damage on him is a large mark that wraps around his right side, though it barely pierces his skin, a minimal amount of blood seeping through the wound.
"Hello?! Are you okay? What's so interesting on that wall that you keep staring at it?" Dyrdramande says from her position across the way, with her bow trained on the raspy breather in case his actions turn hostile.
Icierys sidles further down the stairs to get a better look at the person, staying behind Rhys to not stress the stairs any more than necessary. The dragonborn examines the strange mark carved into the humanoid's flesh. "I can heal your wound if it isn't too deep. Can you move at all?" Icierys stretches out a hand to help the humanoid, reaching past Rhys.
The man simply stares back at Icireys with sunken, hollow eyes. It doesn't seem like his words are getting through to him at all. He stares at Ici's hand, his eyes following it as it reaches out, but the rest of his body remains motionless as he continues his raspy breathing.
"I'm not sure," Icierys calls back. "He seems like he can't move." Icierys checks his balance, and then leans across the stairs, stepping beside the humanoid. "Let's see if this works at all," he says, placing his hand on the humanoid's shoulder. A warm glow emanates out from Icierys' hand, and slowly spreads across the humanoid's body.
[Lay on Hands, 1 hit point for now, possibly more in the future.]

As you lay your hands on the man, the wounds on his side seem to heal over, now leaving only a faint mark. At the touch of his shoulder, you immediately notice that the body is significantly colder than normal, as if his blood has stopped circulating. The man still appears expressionless and unable to act. He turns his head to Rhys but seems to look right through him. It doesn't;t seem as though your divine magic is enough to snap him out of whatever state he's in.
Icierys let out a heavy sigh. "Paralysis may not be quite accurate so much as frozen. His body is as cold as a dead man's." Looking over his shoulder at Rhys, Icierys shakes his head. "I'm not sure I can help him any more than I have already. My healing power can only do so much."
Dyrdramande speaks loudly enough, from her position one cycle of stairs above, that Rhys and Icierys can hear her. "Perhaps we can help these people by finding out what is at the heart of this cursed tower. For now, having done our best to help, I think it better that we leave them, and press on." All the same she keeps her bow ready and an arrow nocked for quick pull-back and release, should the cold man suddenly spring to malevolent life.
Jayne furrows her brow, but will follow along as the group continues down. As she passes the "frozen" man, she'll whisper, "Hold on. We'll be back soon."
Getting ready to go, Rhys puts his hand on Icierys's shoulder. "Come on, let's dive in here. We may be able to help them or at least figure out what's going on. These folks have more the aura of a symptom than a cause."

Icierys nods in response to Rhys' words of encouragement. "Right. The sooner we get down there, the better." Looking at how the order has shifted, Icierys contemplates his position. "Maybe I should stand in the front, instead of the back. Things have seemed stable so far, and if something begins to collapse, I'd rather it start with me than anyone else."
Definitely!

"He may be paralyzed." Rhys is not sure what to make of this humanoid, but he stands back to watch.

(One of my bigger inspirations actually!)
However, are you guys changing up the marching order? Will Icierys be in front now?
