Bones nods and turns to the shopkeep as he starts riffling through his coin pouch, "Perhaps you may be able to help us with another acquisition. A wagon and a mule? I know that it's a long shot, but worth the query."
(OOC - all good @Lord, happy to RP it out here after other OOC chat with anything :) )
"Livestock I'm short on, so no discount, with the wagon and mule, I'd have to say 41, I can't go any lower." The dragonborn answers about the wagon and mule.
"For the both? I'm ok with that. I understand that livestock is a difficult thing to come by at times," Bones nods and counts out the 41gp. Once he's got it all, he places it down for the dragonborn, "Thank you, master shopkeep."
(I'll add those into my inventory and remove the gold later today.)
Mia would give the shopkeeper a respectful bow before leaving. Stepping outside she’d take in a deep breath, roll her shoulders back and rest her hands on her hips. She was ready to get moving.
Bones will look over the wagon and the mule once it is brought to the front of the shop. Happy with what he sees, he turns to the rest of the group, "I'm happy to leave now. I'm not well versed in the art of wagon driving, so if another is better trained, I am happy for them to take the reins. I have nothing left to acquire, so we can leave immediately for Presdine."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The ride to Presdines is relatively easy you meet a few people along the way also traveling to Presdines for a Tea and Tea Pot convention, they all seem to be unaware of the ooze problem. You guys should be arriving on a Tuesday, mid-day and the conversation is set to be Friday Saturday and Sunday.
You guys have been asked by 9 people have offered to pay 5 copper pieces to allow them to ride with you, and act as protection due to the Oozes. Do you want to accept?
(Coach, a few questions. 1) Please confirm it will take 1 week of travel to reach Presdines. 2) On which day of our travel do we get the offer to transport the travelers? 3) Is the Tuesday on which we encounter the oozes the same Tuesday on which we should arrive at Presdines? 4) When we encounter the oozes, how far away are they? 5) How busy is the street where we encounter the oozes?)
2 Thursday shortly after leaving Fadonne (a town that you most likely stayed Wednesday night in, Talinian and Bones were there before going to the Army's camp)
2.b they do have their own wagon, they are two different teams of merchants who are on their way to the convention to sell their merchandise, one is Tea pots the other is teas.
3 yes, it's about 10 am when you see them and you have about 2-3 more hours of travel until you get to the town.
4 about 40 feet, you turned a bend in the road and saw them
5 other than you all you passes a group a while back who were not going to start traveling for a while because of tea times. (If you let the group come with you convinced them that there is no time for tea breaks in travel)
Happy to drive the wagon on their travels, Thodin pulls on the reins to slow to a halt as the oozes come in to view. He looks over to Talinian, riding his horse nearby, and says "Are those the things we've been warned about, do you think?" As he says this, the Dwarf slowly reaches down to his right, reaching for the heavy crossbow that he stowed next to him for such an occasion, his warhammer, shield, and pack all snug in the rear of the wagon.
(ooc: Thodin would have been happy to escort the merchant-sorts to the town, so happy to have them in our little travel convoy if others want)
Mia would be comfortable allowing the travellers to come with them. She’d even give up her space in the wagon and walk along. During their travels she’d hum a soft melodic tune to fill the air around her during times of uncomfortable silence or if moods were low. Mialee would offer to use her magic to warm cups of tea (Prestidigitation), should that save time and satisfy all parties.
Upon coming up to the possible oozes and seeing Thodin reach for his crossbow, Mia would do the same for hers.
Talinian draws his horse to a halt as the 6 gray ooze come into view. After examining them for a moment he turns to the passengers. "Please remain here. Those are gray ooze and while there is some danger they are also quite slow, no more than a third your own foot speed so you should have no trouble evading them if we are unable to destroy them."
Turning to his guild mates, he continues. "This variety of ooze is resistant to fire and also acid, so the spells I would prefer to use will be ineffective, as will the flasks of oil. Given the range, I believe we should just shoot them. They can attack from approximately 5 feet so we have plenty of time to shoot them before they get close enough that we have to move back, however, I suggest the cart be turned around before we begin the attack and most you get off to make it easier to more. Also, the ooze can probably move perhaps twice as fast as normal in some cases so they could be here in perhaps 12 or 13 seconds."
Suiting actions to words, Talinian brings out his crossbow to fire.
Bones nods and turns to the shopkeep as he starts riffling through his coin pouch, "Perhaps you may be able to help us with another acquisition. A wagon and a mule? I know that it's a long shot, but worth the query."

Thodin brightens up as he steps outside of the shop, happy in the knowledge that he won't have to walk miles for the Guild. Again.
Breathing deeply of the fresh air outside, Thodin ponders to himself out loud, "Ah... now we're about business..."
Fiume is excited to go on the journey with these new friends
”this should be fun, I hope my legs don’t get tired from all this walking”

(DM, did Talinian get any interest in the cursed glaive?)
