(I’m still here with Mia. The last couple weeks have been a bit of a ride. My 22yr old cousin died unexpectedly in a vehicle accident two weeks ago, so I’ve been spuratic between work and visits. I guess I also got a little lost and confused. I stepped back to allow Talinian and Bones to do their thing/figure it out. Mia’s a quiet warrior and would have followed along if there was nothing suspecting Crush or Lord Bal playing double agents/helping the mayor )
ooc: Oh, I am so sorry, Ixi. My deepest condolences.
The tiefling wizard studied the human for a moment, allowing a hint of contempt on his face. "Sheath your blade before I melt it," he said calmly with a meaningful glance at the acid-hole in the cart.
Talinian then glances at the others, unsure of exactly how to respond. They were now well beyond the limits of their contract and he could no longer order them, though he would lead them if they wished. He explained on all that, then said, "Do you want to proceed?"
IxI I am so sorry, my thoughts and prayers are with your family. I can auto pilot the other two, and when ever we head back to the guild try to find 1 or 2 more players. I also had someone reach out to me about wanting to join so thats someone I can reach out to.
Delton lowers his sword. "If you don't mind, I will keep it out, but not at the ready, you have done nothing to prove you are trust worthy. As I said, I am willng to answer any questions you might have, or I would be willing to lead you to my master, and he and the other masters. I would warn you not to go in with negative intentions, they would not take kindly to that."
Bones nods, "That is a fair thing to say, sir. We are all unknown to each other, so that makes sense. We only wish to find the old mayor and perhaps ask your masters some questions. But first, my name is Brandal. A pleasure to make your acquaintance. While we make our way to your masters, might you tell us a bit about how you came to serve them and what it is they do?"
As you all ride together his wagon in front your’s behind “I was born in the compound. My great great grandfather once was a master, but he died ohhh, about 10 years ago, two years before I was able to pick my master, or of course I would have stayed with Great Papy. But Ingon was always nice to me, he says I remind him of his brother, before he, ohhh you know was bit.” he nods his head in a matter of factly way, that he thinks you all realize that Ingon is a vampire. “The thing was this, he was bit as a punishment to his father for disrespecting an ancient vampire. Ingon of course was forced to serve said vampire, but had enough will to help others destroy him, freeing himself. Ingon is a special Vampire, while he does need his rest during the day, and sunlight uhhh lets just say he doesn’t die from it, but it's also not very pretty. After aiding in killing his master Ingon set out on his own, until of course he found or we found him, or something in between. None the less we are ‘The Unwanted Blood’ an organization of Vampires and humans. The Vampires in the order are generally good people, they do not wish their sickness on others, and have no desire to control the world, or others. The High Master is almost as old as this age (you would know that to mean he is almost 7,000 years old), but he was 12 when bit, so he still looks like a young boy, but he is stronger than I am, and as wise as anyone I have ever met. They hunt down Vampires who cause problems in the world and stop them. They try to find young Vampires and teach them that there is another way. Some join fully, others join but stay where they are, some refuse to join but take our principals, and others choose to fight us. While the goal is to uhhh prevent the spread of Vampires there are 6 Willings in the order, these Willings showed that they were able to handle the responsibility of being a Vampire, and showed that their character was good enough to not become evil, so they were bit and allowed to drink. There use to be one more but once she turned she showed her true colors, and was put down. Thats what the mayor wanted. He wanted to be a vampire, then he would have brought his wife back, but he proved to the order that he was not able to wield such powers and responsibilities, he fought back, and was trying to convince the order to let him become a Willing, in turn he would have turned his wife as well. When I heard the battle I started to move Ingon to our cart, so we could leave town, but then I looked and saw you all kill the mayor, when you left I decided that if the mayor had reached out to us, who else might he have reached out to? So I grabbed his body when you left the hall, loaded him up also and road off. We are still about a full days ride to the compound, but if I was right and he reached out to others they might have been looking to take advantage of him being dead, so Ingon flew ahead.”
Talinian listens to this long tale with skepticism. After Delton finishes, he turns to Bones. "What are your thoughts, Bones? Do you believe this interesting tale?"
Bones' Insight with advantage for help from Talinian: 15
"Hmm," Bones scratches his beard, "Interesting in that we're running into yet another tale of Ingon." Leaning in close to Talinian and lowering his voice, "Remember the... Headless? In that last job with the crypt? I'm not feeling comfortable about this all of a sudden."
(OOC - @Lorrd, it's back around pg 43 or post #857 if you want a refresh. I had to go back to recall all the details but I knew we'd seen that name before.)
ooc: You're right but that Ingon got his head cut off which would kill even a vampire. Very odd.
Talinian nods, remembering too. "Yes, you are correct. I remember now but that...individual...had an important part of his body removed, if you will recall. Such a...wound...would be difficult to overcome, no matter your gifts."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Just in case, Mia would activate her divine sense as she'd listen from her sentry position. Never hurts to check if there's any good or evil near by. She'd keep an eye on Dalton as well as the area around them for anything worth noting.
"So Dalton," Bones says, shaking off the uneasy feeling of the name Ingon, "What made you wish to remain with such an order as this group of vampires? It seems a very interesting choice. Especially if your ancestor passed away amongst such people? I can understand the mayor attempting to join and gain extended, if not eternal, life. Though I find it interesting that he turned to necromancy if he wished to gain the good will of such a seeming rule-bound group as your 'Unwanted Blood'. Or is that something he found through 'The Unwanted Blood'?"
"I'm not sure everything about the Mayor I never really spoke with him ummmm just what my master shared. As far as staying with the order, they are good people. I don't know much of life out side of them. Also my great great grandfather died while in battle, he was ummmmm avenged. Ingon killed the vampire shortly after."
Talinian looks at Delton. "I find your stories of this Ingon interesting. Will you please tell us more about him? What does his look like? What is his race...or what was it prior to his transformation? What kind of...person is he?"
ooc: Oh, I am so sorry, Ixi. My deepest condolences.

Bones nods, "I'm keen to see whatever is behind the mayor. His studies followed a peculiar path, and was not a likely area to happen across."
