Pietersite allows the frightened eagle to leave, but attacks the other one.
AoO: 11 Damage: 14
Seeing where the eagle run flew to, he says to Mia: "Apologies, I didn't intend for it to come after you instead." He then moves to stand next to Bones, ready to attack any of the birds if they decide to come strike them again.
Ready an action to attack any giant eagle coming close enough to hit.
Looking at the eagles attack rolls, do note that the frightened one and the one attacking Talinian should have a -1d4 from the Bane (Unless Bones loses their concentration). Also, as I forgot to mention it, the frighten was 'until the end of your next turn', so it ended now.
Mialee would smirk. She’d duck, dive and block each attack against her. There was no concern on her face. The half elf looked to be enjoying herself. With three of the birds in her space, Mia would whisper a word of radiance to light them up.

As the eagle's beak rips into his other shoulder, Talinian grits his teeth at the pain then swipes at the bird as it flies up into the air, swinging his quarterstaff with all the skill he can.
Quarterstaff: Attack: 18 Damage: 5
He smiles grimly as the remaining birds gather in the air. With deft fingers he pulls a bit of bat guano and sulfur from his pouch, murmurs the words of his newly learned Fireball spell, and causes an explosion in the air, centered in the midst of the attacking birds.

Mia There is only 1 in your area, the one that you put to sleep, the others are all in the air. If you wish to hold your action to do this then I am ok with it.
One of the birds manages to fly out of the blast enough to not get fully burned. And the one that was afraid of Pietersite falls from the sky dead.
Sit rep for Bones and Mia there is 1 Eagle sleeping on the ground, and two in the air, 1 who looks unhappy and the other looks like they are about to die.
Bones looks up at the injured eagle as he recovers from the last attack. Bloodied and scratched, he points to the bird and mutters "Death calls to you creature. Answer its call."
Casts Toll the Dead on the nearly dead eagle - Wisdom Save DC 16 or 16 necrotic damage.

As Talinian goes to the eagle on the ground, he orders Baltor to keep an eye out for any other attackers, especially airborne one. Pulling out a sack as he walks, and some rope, which he hands to Mia. "Be ready, Mia. When I get the eagle scooped up, be ready to bind the wings. Carefully, though. I have no wish to injure the bird. Though they attacked us, I detect no malice in them, only nature."
He waits for Mia to indicate she's ready. Then, with a quick movement he scoops up the sack over the bird, from the head down, then nods for Mia to bind the sleeping bird's wings while it is inside the sack.
As this goes on, Talinian ponders if there might have been anything magical in the attack.
Nature: 20 Arcana: 16
ooc: This all assumes the bag is big enough for the eagle.
After cutting a small air hole in the bag near the head, Talinian remounts. "Shall we resume our trek? Mia, as you put the bird to sleep the choice is yours. My thought is that someone at the school may have a use for this eagle. If not, then we can free it, unless one of you has some non-lethal use for it."
Mia would assist Talinian with the capturing of the eagle as per his instructions. Now holding it, she’d look a little confused for a moment before chuckling softly. “If it means no malice, I was more than okay with it living its free life. Though, if it shows promise of being loyal to a trainer, I would not deny it either.” She’d take a look over the eagle.
You are all only about a third of the way there, the idea of keeping the Eagle in the bag to bring with on the trip is probably not as easy as you might be thinking. Keep in mind that they are about 10 feet tall. Do we still want to try and keep it?
