Jimjar takes a little bow after he is extricated from the webs and makes it down to the ground.
"You know," he says to no one in particular, and then pauses for a moment as he surveys the area, trying to get his bearings, "we could make our way toward Blingdenstone. It should be about a month's travel... I can't say for sure what we'll find there, as it's been some time since I've been, but, well, you are all likely to be better received by my people than by theirs," he says, waving a hand in a generally drow-ward direction. "I believe we will want to start off that way," he says, pointing in the general direction of the svirfneblin city.

"If anyone would like help getting out of their restraints, I can request Mystra's aid on your behalf," Izzrak says, calmly, as he begins trying to wriggle his hands free of the manacles.

The orc struggles against his manacles, but the drow clearly found a relatively new, and very sturdy, set for the orc fighter. He remains bound. The warforged construct, however, is able to deftly extricate itself from the poorly-fitted chains. He hands the chains to the orc, saying, "These can be used like a flail, or a whip. You must find a way out of your own bonds, though..." The orc bares his fangs in a fierce grin, or perhaps a snarl - one can never tell with the green-skins...and takes the improvised weapon.
Derendil will snarl and give a hard yank on his manacles (10) but grumbles in frustration as they don't give.
Eldrik will also attempt to break his manacles (10+3) but also fails to get out of his manacles. In response to Jimjar's suggestion, Eldrik nods, "It would at least be a good start to have an idea of where to go."
Leaving Velkynvelve - 1.00 am on Day 2, Third Ten-day, Alturiak
After a quick discussion the party agrees that they should make for Blingdenstone. Hearing that the party is making for Blingdenstone, Shooshar who until now had little to say joins the conversation “my people’s city of Sloobludop on the shores of the Dark Lake is on the way.” He counts on his fingers, “slurp, blurp, glurp, durp” and then repeats the count before continuing “eight sleeps away. I do not know what “Vah jo peedit hai plans for me are? It may be that he wishes I spread his word among my people, it may be that I must accompany you further. But at the least I shall accompany you for the next eight sleeps.”
The party starts to head towards the northwest entrance. Just before it reaches the entrance one of thr bird like creatures hit while in flight by one of the giant insect like creatures slams into the floor in front of the party. Stunned it screeches at them but can do nothing more.
Initiative (4 Groups see below) as agreed actions within a group are effectively simultaneous: Group 1 [scored 16+] - Sebastian (Harrison), Ront (Andy), Shooshar (Grant aka DM) Group 2 [scored 11-15] - Six of Eight (Andy), Turvey (James), Izzak (Colin) Group 3 [scored 6-10:] - Jimjar (Colin), Topsy (James), Sarith (Harrison) Group 4 [scored <5] – Derendil (Jono), Eldrik (Jono), Bird like creature.
The orc fighter swings the chains that the warforged construct gave him, holding them in the center and using the ends like a flail to beat the downed bird!
Unable to control the direction of the chains Ront smashes them into the cavern floor next to the creature. Group 1 has Sebastian and Shooshar still to act but we'll move onto Group 2 (Six of Eight, Turvey and Izzak) can all act as well.
Turvy growls, "Stay back," to his sister before launching forward, the rusty iron bar held with both of his manacled hands. He swings the makeshift club at the creature and then dances backward again (if he has enough movement left).
Rusty iron bar attack: 22; damage: 7 bludgeoning damage
The warforged touches an indentation near the softly glowing stone set into its chest covering, and a beam of crackling energy streaks toward the fallen bird!
The combination of being hit with an iron bar – courtesy of Turvey – Sebastian’s flailing manacles and a blast from the metal construct known as Six of Eight is too much for bird creature and it slumps to cavern floor dead.
Knowing that it won’t be long before the Drow sort themselves out and mount a pursuit the party head off in to the northwestern exit. After a little while the corridor starts to narrow forcing the party into single file {Turvey, Eldrik, Jimjar, Izzrak, Sarith, Six of Eight, Derendil, Shooshar, Topsy, Sebastian, and Ront) and the natural illumination drops away to nothing. As the only member of the party without darkvision Sebastian bangs his heads innumerable times on low hanging stalactites. The snickers from Ront as Sebastian bangs his head doesn’t help his mood. However if it was not for Topsy constantly warning him - the number of times he hit his head would have been far greater.
The narrow dark passage, possibly cut by a stream aeons ago, continues for about one and a half miles before it widens out into a larger passageways the walls of which are hung with a phosphorescent fungi. After about half a mile the illumination again drops off but the passageway maintains its width. Whilst the party travels in the wider passageway it is able to move into ranks (Turvey/Eldrik, Jimjar/Izzrak, Sarith/Six of Eight, Derendil/Shooshar, Topsy/Sebastian and Ront) and travel as a smaller more cohesive group for about 2 miles. Then the passageway narrows again and the party reverts to single file. As the party is traversing a narrow ledge there is an almighty screech. The lead elements look around and can make out four giant mushrooms which appear to be letting out an ear-spilling wail.
Topsy and Turvey easily recognise the mushrooms as 'Shriekers' a breed of fungi that shrieks whenever somebody comes within 30' of them. The shriek is audible for some distance and this fungi is often used to guard/act as an early warning device by denizens of the Underdark.
To try and stop hitting his head as much on the stalactites, Sebastian will shrink in height roughly half a foot. As he rolls up his sleeves and cuffs his pants, he says "while I do love getting hit in the head, i believe we could all move faster I had just an ounce of light."

Sounds good. DM, I'm sorry, can you tell me how many days it's been since Topsy and Turvy were brought here?
Topsy and Turvey were first thrown in the prison cell on Day 5, Second Ten-day, Alturiak. It is currently Day 1, Third Ten-day, Alturiak.

What do Topsy and Turvy know of the mushrooms?
Topsy nature: 20
Turvy nature: 8
Topsy and Turvey easily recognise the mushrooms as 'Shriekers' a breed of fungi that shrieks whenever somebody comes within 30' of them. The shriek is audible for some distance and this fungi is often used to guard/act as an early warning device by denizens of the Underdark.
