"Well aren't you all rowdy bunch, hopefully we'll all get to know each other soon. You can call me Sebastian for now." the human says as he runs a investigatory glance at the rest of the prisoners. Looking at the gnome that the guard also said has soft hands he says in a joyful and joking tone "Surely we can make a game of stacking rocks or maybe some art? Have a productive day the rest of you."
OOC: Is the morning chant spoken or sung? Also, is it the same rhythm each time?
The deep gnome pair wakes and takes their bowls hungrily. Keeping to themselves as usual, they accept their daily task mutely. When the new human suggests making the best out of a bad situation, the female gives him a curious look before the male mumbles something to her, pulling her eyes away and back to work.
Derendil gets back to his task, same as the day before, constantly complaining but still afraid enough of the guards to work hard. Whilst Eldrik just ignores the orc, getting back to what he started the day before.
Jimjar's eyes light up at the suggestion of making a game out of the rocks. "I think you and I are going to get along just fine," he says. "Jimjar Gemfinger," he adds, holding a hand out angled up toward the new human prisoner to invite a handshake.
"It's not a proper game without stakes, if you ask me," he says as they make their way toward the rock piles. "'Fraid I'm fresh out of gold, sadly, but, ah, how bout we start a tab? You can pay me my winnings once we find a way out of here..." he adds with a sly smile.
The new half-elf prisoner has somewhat patchy light bluish-gray skin, pinkish eyes, and sort of reverse "salt and pepper" hair (mostly gray-white with flecks of black).; it is clear to anyone that he has drow blood. If he were a human he would appear to be in his early 20s or so. Looking at his bony physique and visible ribs, someone who didn't know he'd just arrived in the prison would be forgiven for thinking that he'd been sedentary and underfed for months, if not longer.
He meets the gaze of the other prisoners as he enters, looking neither friendly nor hostile; merely acknowledging their existence. The expression on his face is one of calm tranquility, almost completely devoid of any sign of resentment toward the guard leading him to his new unaccommodations, and simply taking the situation in stride.
He wordlessly nods as he receives his work assignment, and allows the Quaggoth to lead the way to the kitchen.
The human shook hands with Jimjar saying with a mischievous smirk "happy to start a tab but i think you'll be owning me by the end of our stay." and with that he followed Jimjar and the others to do his task. During the day's work he keeps his eyes on the guards trying to view and memorise all the different faces he sees.
Sarith looks up at the new human and half-elf with the same amount of interest he showed everyone else, that being very little. However, the introduction of more even more prisoners to his cell peaks he's interest. Going about his day doing his task he takes special care to see if there are any more prison cells and if so where they are located in relation to his cell.
The Guards, the Derro, Topsy, Tuvey, the Halfling, Jimjar and Sebastian for now are lowered to the floor of the cavern. Along with two guards, two Quaggoths have also be detailed to act as guards. It takes two trips in the basket to get everybody down to cavern floor. “Right see that pile of rocks” it’s the same ones that Topsy and Turvey moved yesterday “well the mistress wants them over there”back where they had been the day previously “only this time she wants the little ones at the bottom and the big ones on top but they’ve got to balance not just all higgledy piggedly! Now get to work!”
Prince Derendil and the new half-drow elf are led off to the kitchens which are at the back part of Chamber #3.
Eldrik and Ronk are led off to the webs near the waterfall (Location #9) where they spend the day scrubbing laundry; balancing on the webs close enough to the waterfall while wearing manacles and ensuring that they don’t either fall or drop the laundry calls on all of their skills.
Sarith spends the day emptying chamber pots. This involves him visiting the following locations: #1 Southern Watch post – a small alcove manned at all times by two Drow Guards that guards the southern entrance to the cavern. #2a & #2b - two southernmost caves that serve as barracks for the rank-and-file drow warriors of the outpost. Each cave can accompany six warriors and each is provided with a pallet, a small zurkhwood chest for holding personal possessions and equipment, and a side table. Spider silk rope webbing on the cavern walls is set with hooks for hanging lanterns and other items, but the barracks are rarely lit. At any one time there is always at least one drow warrior in each cave. #4a & #4b – two hanging towers (i.e. stalactites) that have been hollowed out and turned into barracks for the elite drow warriors. Each tower can accompany three drow warriors, they have the same furniture as in locations #2a & #2b but it is of a higher quality. #10 – one of the larger hanging towers (stalactite) connected by rope bridges to the slave pen and other walkways to the largest hanging tower; an area he is not allowed into. This tower serves as a guard tower for observing the cavern, the western passage, and the slave pen. Two rank & file warriors and an elite warrior are on duty at all times. #11 – the slave pen (nuff said) #12 – the quaggoth den a chamber littered with littered with nest-like mounds of debris and the scattered bones of the quaggoths’ past meals. A quick count suggests that are up to a dozen nests. #13 Northern Watch post – a small alcove manned at all times by two Drow Guards that guards the northern entrance to the cavern.
Ront complains, loudly, in orcish, the entire time he is balanced on the spiderweb. He isn't particularly gentle with the cloths, nor exceptionally mindful of getting out spots and stains. This, at least, is not due to his belligerence so much as his general lack of hygiene skills...
What is the lower area like where the rock stacking takes place?
The cavern floor is about 300' long and 50' wide (at its widest point). It is covered in flowstones, rim pools, stalagmites and broken stalactites.
And there are three tunnels? Where does the water go after it pools at the bottom of the waterfall? And where is the rock stacking take place in comparison to the "elevator"?
And there are three tunnels? Where does the water go after it pools at the bottom of the waterfall? And where is the rock stacking take place in comparison to the "elevator"?
Yes there are three tunnels - the northern, southern and western tunnels. The pool does not appear to run out of the cavern on the surface so you would surmise that it is drained by an underground river.
The lift lands about 60 feet from the southern entrance. As to the rock stacking, you're moving the rocks from a location near the cavern's northern entrance to a location near the cavern's southern entrance and back again.
Is Eldrik able to see the ground beneath the webbing?
There is sufficient dim light which coupled with his dark vision is sufficient for him to determine that there is a floor to the cavern and the wbs are not over a bottomless chasm. He would have been brought in one of the cavern entrances.
Turvy works silently and determined; he is single-minded and obedient. Topsy appears to be just as single-minded, but she makes chances glances at the drow and quaggoths to see how well they get along.
Whether the quaggoth appear to be OK with the arrangement or if they look like they might resent the drow
Not being experts in Quaggoth culture, body language and or psychology it is not possible for Topsy or Turvey to tell if the Quaggoths resent the Drow but you have both heard that the major Drow houses have legions of Quaggoth at the command and they are often used to raid elven enclaves on the surface.

The morning chant is sung and yes it is to the same rhyme each time.

The quaggoth are completely subservient to the drow!
