Tales from Talaveroth

As they leave the town and get on the road, a mile or so out, Si'Juul begins flying up.

"Think I will scout ahead. Never know what you'll find out here."

The road ahead is quite clear for the moment. The only other traffic you see is a cart full of grain that passes you in the opposite direction about 1 hour into your journey.

Eventually the sun dips down towards the horizon of the sea off to your west. 

As the sun begins to set, Si'Juul will land.

"Should find a place to set camp soon."

As soon as we find a decent spot, Twitch will start to untie her waxed sailcloth travel bundle, and use the large fabric square to set up a waterproof lean-to for the evening to spread out our bedrolls under. Then she'd help the others with the fire. Hopefully, she could find some local plants and mushrooms in the morning, to add to their rations. Grandpa had shown her tons of recipes, and she missed his cooking, biting into the ship's hard tack rations.

Someone make a perception check and Twitch can make a survival check.

(I will give someone advantage of they want and if I am able)

Poinki will help Twitch forage.  He has lots of experience scavenging in the wilderness.

Si'Juul's excellent eyesight manages to spot a place along the shore where a hill seems to have been hollowed out, giving you a nice overhang and soft sand to sleep on. Once the fire is set Twitch and Poinki begin to forage. They find a few mushrooms and other edibles. As they walk back they come close to a bundle of seaweed that's come quite far up on shore. From within comes a clacking sound and suddenly 5 crabs come rushing out to defend their home. They stop in a line, facing the two but cutting them off from the others, unless they want to leave the beach and take to the hills near the road again.

Twitch isn't willing to fight the crabs. Their meat might be tasty, but it could easily be more hassle than it was worth. Trying to disengage, she returns to the camp with the foraged mushrooms, leaving the animals in peace.

Elhanna will try to help Si’Juul with the camp, but she has 0 experience with setting up a camp. On the island she had mostly watch while others had been working, trying to learn as much as possible. “How’d it go? Find something delicious?”

ooc: Is it still the same day as when we first saw Elexisys bird on the boat? 

Poinki hesitates. He is not used to walking away to anything that could be food.  But he is learning a new way of life from his heroes.

He decides to try to catch the crabs without killing them....he can always turn them loose if nobody else wants to eat them.

Twitch makes is back to the group with her foraged food easily enough. The rest of you can just see down the beach where your new goblin friend is running around with a sack trying to catch the crabs.

(It's still the same day you got off the boat. Poinki, roll regular attacks, if they hit I'll say you get a crab in your bag.)

(Do the crabs get to attack back, or are they just running away? :D )

As Si'Juul watches Poinki tangle with the crabs, he finds a comfortable spot to rest near the entrance to the hill's hollow. His mind going from one thought to the next, trying to plan out his next moves.

Most try to run away but two seem to realize what's happening and stand to fight.

They fail misablely and just end up in the bag quicker.

Poinki proundly brings the sack of crabs to the campfire and says, "Poinki caught food!" He holds up a crab. "Look, um...sea spider things." He turns to Elhanna and asks, "Ko kahl sar shar ac shuulkuuc?"

Twitch gives Poinki an encouraging smile. The goblin was growing on her, for sure. Having spent some of her down time picking up more goblin phrases, she looks at him and answers with a smile :"A crab"

"I speak five different languages and they all would have you say 'crab' precisely the same as in common."

(At least, as far as every online translator I have bothered to try tells me :P)

"Been some time since I last had seafood so fresh."
