Tales from Talaveroth

Twitch follows the ithers: „ Have any of you heard about a certain Myrkul? Looks like that might give us some answers...“

Si'Juul keeps opening the door until it's completely open, looking in with gun pointed forward.

Nothing comes rushing out but as your eyes adjust to the darkness within you can see two shapes, standing there and watching you. They make no moves towards you, simply standing there.

Si'Juul takes a few steps back, keeping at least one in his sight through the door, gun still aimed at them.

"Everybody ready?"

Twitch looks around the others, before looking at Si'Juul: "Did we get a physical description of Oleg? It might be difficult to identify him, once his head is missing..."

"I don't recall receiving one. But we have two undead here that need to be dealt with."

"Maybe undead IS Oleg," Poinki remarks. "Hey!  You undeads!  You Oleg?" he calls out.

Poinki receives no response besides a few grunts and growls.

"Not ones for talking, it seems. Shall we eliminate them now?"

Si'Juul is beginning to get unnerved, both from the simple fact undead is existing near and also from their stench flowing out of the building.

He takes very careful aim, taking advantage of their lack of movement.

"Undeads seem very not-moving," says Poinki. "Maybe like boat undeads, stay in shadows?" He tries to get an idea of what kind of undead creatures these are, moving closer.

Is there any more undead pings or other? 

"We better end them quick before more have time to rise. Then we need to find out who is responsible for thise." 

Elhanna let go of the detection spell and cast bless on the whole party and then raised her crossbow, ready to meet the living dead. (+1d4 on attcks and saving throws)

Initiative: 20

Light x-bow Attack: 20 Damage: 8

A shot rings out before Poinki gets in the path of the shot, possibly over his head, right into the skull of the undead nearest the door.

Initiative: 15

Attack: 6 w/bless

Si'Juul growls in anger over missing such an easy shot.

Poinki cringes in fear as the shot rings out behind him. Since it's clear that the battle has commenced, whether or not the undeads have been identified, he reluctantly drops the torch to charge and attack.

Twitch cries out: "Try to keep the heads intact, maybe the townsfolk can help with the identification!"

She shudders a little at her own sigguestion, but it was likely the best chance for them to find out, if this was Oleg or not.

Initiative: 18 

Twitch is going to wait for Poinki to get into range, before dashing up and flanking one of the two for her own attack.

10 for 4 and 21 for 5 plus 4 for sneak attack.

The party lurches forward, unfortunately spoiling Si'Juul's careful aim. All the others land their attacks on one of the poor creatures though. The combined weight of the blows means that Twitch's first knife brings it down, only for it to begin to slowly rise again before her second knife brings it down for good.

Si'Juul and Twitch are up first!

With everyone now in the way of his shots, Si'Juul will holster his pepperbox and rush forward, pushing around his allies to reach the remaining undead and start slashing with his talons.

Attack: Natural 20

Damage: 10

Twitch quickly dashes to the other side of the second undead, getting into another flanking position. With a quick slash to the back of the knee, she brings the creature down, before plunging her dagger into the back of the creature's neck.

19 for 3 and 13 for 4 plus 7 for sneak attack. Plus 12 for the critical hit.

OOC: 22 damage in one go, uff! I like rogues!

Between the two of you the second creature crumples before it can even react to your attacks on its companion. It doesn't look like it will rise either.

Now that your eyes have fully made the transition to the darkness inside the crypt your see four stone coffins, two of which appear to have the lids removed. Two torches sit until at the top of a staircase that depends further into the ground. A large altar stands at the back of the room.

Twitch is first and foremost going to try and remove the two heads and store them in some form of bag or cloth, maybe fashioned from the corpses' clothes. She intends to show them to some of the citizens to help with identifying them. Once that is done, she gets up, the two heads slung around her back. She'll pick up a torch, ready to descend the stairs to further investigate this crypt.
