As it comes a little closer Si'Juul (with the 21 perception roll) notices that it's shaped something like a griffon or a dragon, but more feathery...

Si'Juul removes his pepperbox from its holster, stepping away from the mast and flaring his wings.

"Captain! I will once again work to save your hide and you will have 50 gold waiting for me when I return!"

He then flies straight up his full 50ft of flight speed before the captain can even begin to respond, his eyes never leaving the feathered creature.

As he will likely get very close to Twitch, he tells her,

"Just let me know if you want a quick way down. I'll carry you."

The rest of the party watch Si'Juul disappear up into the fog...

 (With how big the cargo hold was I had thought the ship to be pretty big, and therefore the mast would be a fitting size and height for such a ship. Apparently not. :P)

(Hmm, looks like I grossly underestimated the height a mast should be, and also did not notice your 50ft distance mentioned.  Should we retcon?  Because if the masts are, say, 100 feet, you won't even get near to where Twitch is keeping watch... )

(If we are saying the mast is 100ft tall, then the crowd nest where Twitch is may probably be about the 80ft mark, give or take 10ft, as I usually see crows nests built around the mast as opposed to right on the very top of it. So Si'Juul may be close enough so Twitch can hear him, but definitely not high enough to disappear into the fog.)

Twitch hears Si'juul calling up to her, and without looking around, she answers: "Thanks, but I am fine up here. Curious what you're hoping to achieve though, I don't even know what that thing is, much less how to fight it."

Seeing and hearing all the fuss below, the flying creature veers off to look for less alert prey. You all remain staring tensly into the sky for its possible return....

Twitch, even occupied in though staring up in the air, notices something out of the corner of her eye....there's a large, dark shape in the sea, right in the path of the ship...

Si'Juul closes the distance to Twitch, hovering just off to her right, eyes fixed on the fleeing creature.

"No guarantee that thing won't be back....... whatever it is......"

"Hard starboard, there's something in the water!"

"Good eye....."

Si'Juul flies down his 50ft towards the sea creature.

(Which I guess to be about 30ft above the water line, if we are saying the crows nest is 80ft up.)

”what is going on?” Elhanna ask nervously

What Si'juul sees from close range is not a sea creature, but a derelict ship.  It is listing low in the water, sails and moss hanging in shreds from the yardarms.

Si'Juul begins looking over the ship as best he can for anything remotely valuable.

The deck is empty, except for moss and mold.  You can see that something seems to be up in the crow's nest.

The Mobius drops its sails and wizard winds, and comes about, slowing and turning broadside from the wreck, about fifty yards away.  After staring some time at the hulk, the captain says, "Let's make a broad berth around it.  The gods know what unholy things might infest that heap of rotten timbers."

"Could have cargo aboard," says the first mate, her eyes lighting up. "Treasure, even, if it was a pirate."

"Hmmmm...." the captain says. Then he sighs and says, "No, I can't risk the ship.  We're in enough trouble as it is..."

Si'Juul will fly to the Mobius's crows nest and land alongside Twitch, folding his wings.

"......captain has at least some sense.....can't be worth diving in there........."

Twtich can't believe it! The captain actually seemed afraid, or otherwise shaken by his encounter with Si'Juul, since she had actually just heard him put the needs of the crew first!

Paren walks to the rail closest to the ship to watch as they go by.

Elhanna realizes that the ship is flying the flag of the Richard Merchant Company, and the captain is just as much a hireling as the sailors.  Getting 'his' ship damaged (or rather, the company's ship) would put him in serious trouble.

Soon work begins on deck again. The sails are raised, and the ship makes a wide, careful berth around the abandoned vessel. You sail on. Eventually, it starts to get dark, and lanterns are lit all over the ship. 

The First Mate climbs up to the crow's nest, where she tells Twitch she can head down and relax.  The captain announces that Miss Lethwaite and Mister Oxbow will watch during the night. "In the morning we will draw lots for who stands watch," he adds. "And any sailor who refuses can be thrown overboard and take their chances with the sharks instead of the devil bird."
