The Zhelezo guard, a young human in their 20s, responds to Oden as they make their way to the guardhouse as quickly as possible "Yes in custody! Something about being some part of an extortion ring. Should we be looking out for a woman as well, is she also involved? Wait, how do you know him?"
"We're friends. If the extortion charge is what I think it is, it will all clear up when we arrive. No need to worry about the woman."
Yes, Kenton will follow. He'll make his excuses to Halmna (though he is welcome to come along if he wishes) but the library visit is likely to be postponed.
Aliez will wait until the rest of the party arrives and greets them, "On our way to you, Vincent got attacked by some of Hector's workers. Thank goodness you are all here to help clear things up."
The Zhelezo guards and Renzir remove any obvious weapons from you and Gillbrid and put you into separate manacles. Renzir then leads you and Gilbrid to the guardhouse with Hektor following closely behind and you are put in separate small cells where the manacles are attached to the wall.
When you all arrive Hektor starts speaking again and Renzir cuts him off "Unless you are about to tell me this is a misunderstanding and to let our guest go, save it until he has his support here. I know things used to be different under Kevben, but Gertharm is all about giving everyone a fair go and I agree with him on that. Also, do you really want to piss off Bryn if they really do know each other? I could see your shop changing from 'Hektor's Hammer' to 'Bryn's Hammer' in no time if you pissed her off enough."
Any other attempts to say anything are also cut off and it appears that Renzir is going to wait until Bryn arrives before getting any evidence from the three of you about what happened.
When Oden admits to being friends with the person in custody, the Zhelezo guard's eyes narrow and he changes his position to just behind Oden for the rest of the trip towards the dock and stops talking to him, though takes no further action.
When you all arrive at the guardhouse the Zhelezo that fetched Bryn gestures at Oden and says to the guards out the front "watch out for this one and keep an eye out for a woman, they are associates of the extortionist."
The guards do not seem to take this too seriously and one says, "ALLEGED extortionist. That is why you were sent to fetch Bryn, so we could find out what actually happened. Did you even do that?"
Bryn arrives a few minutes later (due to her short-dwarf legs) and wheezing heavily says "I believe you [wheeze] have one of the Heroes of the Isle in custody [wheeze] and I demand to know why [wheeze]."
The guards out the front look at each other at the mention of the Heroes of the Isle and lead Bryn (and whoever else wants to go in) into the guardhouse.
[I'll let anyone finish/have any conversations that occured on the way to the guardhouse (including but not limited to the one between Kenton and Bryn), and for people to let me know anything else they do on the way there.]
Aliez will wait until the rest of the party arrives and greets them, "On our way to you, Vincent got attacked by some of Hector's workers. Thank goodness you are all here to help clear things up."
"Yeah, I'm sure we'll get him out, but I hope he's well. I'm glad they left you alone. This one", Oden points to the Zhelezo who led then here, "didn't see you apparently, weren't you and Vincent together?"
Kenton politely concludes his conversation with Bryn: Well, I met these fine folks on a matter of great seriousness. I find myself in the service of the Brand family and it seems we have a common quest together, and certainly common enemies in the Sea Devils. Has news of their activities reached these shores?
However, he is more eager to keep up with the party and observe what trouble Vincent has got himself into.
Before arriving at the guardhouse Bryn finishes the conversation with Kenton whilst running as fast as her little legs allow "My husband Piotr told me [wheeze] what Oden told him happened with the sahuagin priestess? [wheeze] Or was it princess? [wheeze] I take it you also fought with them then and are now one of the 'Heroes of the Isle'? [wheeze] Maybe we need to rename you all as [wheeze] the 'Heroes of the Coast' to reflect that your ongoing deeds [wheeze]. Also, say hello to Jaxon next time you see him [wheeze] and tell him I haven't forgotten his promise [wheeze]."
Bryn storms into the guardhouse despite being very out of breath, though when she sees Renzir, her demeanour softens, "Renzir [wheeze] thank the Allhammer [wheeze] you are on today [wheeze]..."
Renzir responds "Well I'm guessing with you obviously running here, that you do indeed know our guest" [she gestures at The Champion].
Bryn responds "yes [wheeze] that is Vincent [wheeze] he [wheeze] he [wheeze]... water [wheeze]... please [wheeze]... speak [wheeze] after [wheeze]."
The Champion:
As The Raven Queen now owns your previous name, you feel obliged to correct people when they call you Vincent. You can definitely do it nicely, but to leave it uncorrected would be disrespectful to your god and the fact that she has now named you The Champion.
Renzir sends one of the other Zhelezo to fetch water for Bryn and says "OK, well lets try and get to the bottom of this. I'll start with you two [she points at Gilbrid and The Champion] and find out why there was almost a mid morning beheading outside of Hektor's, then I'll hear from you Hektor and Bryn if that is alright with everyone."
Hektor on seeing the other Heroes of the Isle/Coast has turned ghostly pale and has moved so there are Zhelezo between you all and him.
Gilbrid starts "This one and all them [pointing at those of you who were there when you got the helmets] came into 'ektor's 'ammer and threatened that they would mutilate 'ektor like they did to Vikkaen if he didn't give them some helmets he was working on for her [he points to Bryn]."
There is a general wince in the room when Vikkaen is mentioned and Renzir looks at The Champion and rest of you somewhat concerned. She asks The Champion"OK, name and your side of what happened, including what you know about Vikkaen's murder."
The Champion clears his throat. “I’m afraid I must insist you refer to me as The Champion of the Raven Queen, as I have abandoned my name in favor of service to My Lady.”
”Mr Gillbrid there is not wrong, although we were a bit unwitting in our threat, which I’m sure must seem hard to believe, but it’s also how we came to be here today. Some days ago, when we fled Palma Flora with as many townsfolk as we could, we boarded a ship without much discernment other than ‘it floats, good enough.’ While on board, we were offered a means to return and counterattack the Sahuagin witch by one captain Three Rings. We didn’t find out til later that it was an alias for this was captain Burning Ring, an infamous pirate. This deception was not the last. She sent us to poor Hector with a letter, stating he would assist us. He did, but his behavior was distressed. I put it together with a certainty some time later, when we discovered Burning Ring’s true identity. - the way, she’s been captured, with our assistance- so I returned to Hector’s to try to make amends but... there was a misunderstanding.”
Before Renzir has a chance to ask follow up questions Bryn (having caught her breath a bit) jumps in and says, "You have one of the Heroes of the Isle locked up [wheeze] [Everyone reacts when The Heroes of the Isle are mentioned], not only that, but Vince... The Champion is my family's personal hero. As well as helping the others with the sahuagin that were attacking Flora Isle [wheeze], The Champion also risked his life climbing into a collapsing tavern and saved me and Ness from the upper floor [wheeze], then went back in and searched the ground floor and rescued Piotr and another person trapped down there [wheeze] while the building was falling down around him. I was then on the ship with him, the rest of the Heroes, and this Three Earrings. I can personally vouch that if there was any issue at Hektor's, it was a misunderstanding [wheeze] and the Heroes must have been tricked. The helmets that they obtained were mine anyway and I then explicitly lent them to the Heroes when I found out that they had them and [wheeze] told Hektor not to worry about the helmets. This whole mess might be my fault, I told Three Earrings about the helmets when discussing how I might assist the Heroes with taking care of the sahuagin leader who sunk the island [wheeze] and who was likely to sink Brokenbank next, and then I didn't tell Hektor anything beyond saying not to worry about the helmets [wheeze], though I didn't know he had been threatened. If there is any fine for this mess, I'm happy to pay it."
Renzir had been trying to jump in the whole time while Bryn was speaking, but apart from when she was wheezing, Bryn just continued to talk over Renzir. When Bryn has finished, Renzir says, "OK, well that was not the order that I suggested, but it explains a fair bit of what happened I guess. I don't know if any fines need to be issued yet, but I'll keep your offer in mind. Gilbrid, what is your side of the story?"
Gilbrid sulkily responds "They threatened 'ektor and brought upVikkaen. I didn't know about any of the other stuff. I didn't know they were the 'eroes of the Isle."
Renzir points to Hektor, who says, "I wasn't behind any of this, but yes, they came into my shop and handed me a note. The note said that the Revelry were "requisitioning" the helmets and if I asked any questions that I'd "meet the same fate as Vikkaen”. I told Gilbrid to leave it and not cause any trouble, but you know how he is. I didn't know that lot were the Heroes of the Isle, or that they didn't know what was in the note, but I'm happy to accept this as a big misunderstanding."
Renzir then asks "What about the rest of you, do you have anything to add before I decide what I should do?"
“I’m so sorry Gillbrid. I hope we can be friends after this, you were being a true friend and stood up to what you thought was wrong. And if you tell us more about this Vikkaen, maybe we can offer to help there, too. Dealing with murderers is something of a specialty of mine.”
The Champion offers a hand to Gillbrid, and he speaks of Vakkaen in earnest.
Despite both still manacled, when The Champion awkwardly offers Gilbrid his hand, he shakes it.
This is followed very quickly by Renzir saying "no touching! [Arrested Development prison scenes style] There will be plenty of time for handshakes and apologies after we finalise this. Does anyone else have anything to add or is that everything?"
Renzir takes a few minutes trying to get everything she has been told down on paper. She stops when she gets to the name Burning Ring, looking up like she might have been the butt of a joke, then checks a parchment sitting on a desk and says to herself "Burning Hill, AKA Three Earrings. Right, maybe it was a nickname."
She then turns to Gilbrid "No more fights in the streets, period. You’ve come a long way in the last year and I don’t want you to throw it away. I’m willing to overlook this ‘incident’, only because I don’t think you had a chance of actually hurting one of these Heroes of the Isle, so I won’t add it to your record and break your ‘lawful streak’."
She turns and continues "Hector, Bryn, maybe try to communicate better?"
She addresses the members of the party in the room "I understand that the people of Flora Isle - and potentially Brokenbank now - owe you for taking care of the sahuagin threat. I’d appreciate someone filling me in on the details, because if you have saved this place from going the way of Flora Isle, I should let Portmaster Fahreed know. There may be a reward in it for you all, so give as much detail as possible. That said, I suggest that in the future you don’t blindly pass notes from dodgy pirate-types to upstanding citizens. Now, apart from whoever is going to tell me the story of what happened with the sahuagin, you are all free to go."
[As many people can try and provide details about what has happened AND what is happening with the sahuagin threat as you want. The more detail provided AND the more people contributing, the lower the DC for something positive to come out of this. What that positive thing is will somewhat depend on what you all tell Renzir.]
"I'm not sure if I can provide the best summary of everything, but I can kick us off? And the others can fill in the bits I missed?" Beatrice says, stepping forwards. "So we were all on Flora Isle, hanging out, when these sahuagin suddenly started coming out of the sea and all of us ran to fight them but as we did the island started to collapse into the ocean. We managed to defeat them before the island collapsed, and Vincent got Bryn and her family out of the tavern, and we followed all the other islanders and there was an evacuation ship - Three Rings' ship - waiting for us, but before we could get on there were more sahuagin in the ocean pass and they were controlling sharks? And eventually we also beat them and everyone got onto the ship and sailed here. Three Rings told us something about there being more of a threat to take care of or something, I can't really remember because I wasn't really paying attention, so we came to here and went to get supplies. We thought it was weird that Hektor and his lot freaked out when we gave them the note, but when we tried to ask about it they just hurried us out of their shop, understandably. After that we got picked up by a Concord ship, which is where we met Kenton, and then we swam down to the sahuagin lair, where there was a bunch of sahuagin and sharkbody abominations and they were all protecting this one fancy sahuagin called Selachai. We fought all of them and managed to kill them, though Selachai had some weird magic powers and a fancy coat that swum away when we killed her? And after a quick break where we swum back to the boat a few of us swam back down to where they had been to see if there was anything there that we could learn from, and we found some of the citizens of Flora Isle stuck in these strange jellyfish balloons, and when we got them back to the surface we managed to free them and they seemed to be fine, if a bit confused." Beatrice pauses, panting a little. She looks at the others. "I'm sure I missed something, but that was the general gist of what I remember."
"Yes, that's what happened. I would just add that Selachai was performing a ritual to transform Flora Isle people she captured into those shark abominations to fight for her, so she must have been planning more attacks. It's possible she planned to attack Brokenbank, but we don't know that for certain. I'm afraid whatever evil power Selechai was following is still out there, but I hope we removed the immediate threat to the island."

“..: is it my face?” He mutters under his breath.

Beatrice will follow Bryn in, wondering who on earth is this woman that they keep referring to.
