The polite greeting, contrasting with Oden's direct question, makes the green bands on his cheeks go slightly darker. "Elves are actually common in these parts, but I haven't seen one quite like you. Forgive me, now I'm staring. Well... don't let today define what the "outside world" means to you. You'll have to tell me of your mountains, once we've settled."
Laire's smile become a bit wider and kind of relieved - she did manage not to offend the man (Oden, the name is Oden) in some way. "You can look all you want and I would gladly tell you about the mountains (though hope to hear about these lands in return). But what do you mean by "settled"? Do you know where we are going? I thought we only need to cross the water to get to the mainland but we keep moving...".
"I meant settled for the journey. Try to find a comfortable spot and rest. We are headed for Brokenbank or Bisaft Isle, a journey that usually takes about a day and a half. I am worried. What happened in Palma Flora could well have happened there, as well." In a low voice, gazing across the sea towards where he thought Brokenbank was: "I need to find them."
Vincent approaches the Dwarvish first mate. “Excuse me? Vincent Flintmore. I’m trying to work on the next steps for these people, and I figured I’d start with finding out what sort of ship this is. Who are you? What does this ship do?”
Vincent, as you approach, it becomes clear that the dwarf is chastising the elf and you catch the end of it "...when ye be on a wee ship like this, ye needs t' predict where ye will be most useful 'n be constantly movin'. Wha' ye learned on larger vessels 'n rules around waitin' fer orders donât apply here."
She waits for him to scarper, before turning and answering "Sorry, breakin' in new crew. Well met "Vincent Flintmore". I’m th' helmsman 'n first mate "Heidi Axebeard", though we be usually less formal, so Heidi or First Mate will do. At th' moment th' Wavechaser appears t' be a refugee rescue vessel, though she was built t' be a cargo ship. Now I wouldnât usually jus' answer yer riddles fer nought, but th' cap'n seems t' 'ave taken an interest in ye lot, so I 'ave some riddles o' me owns. How about ye 'n yer companions, who are ye? Are ye rovin' mercenaries, a famous adventurin' party who I should 'ave heard tales sung about or wha'?"
Tharhun, noting that the half-orc woman seems to be the least busy of the crew members he spots, approaches her and inquires for the blankets/supplies for the refugees. He politely taps her shoulder before giving a polite head bow, "Hello there, sorry to interrupt, but I was wondering if your ship would have any spare supplies for the refugees? Nothing to fancy of course, but maybe some spare blankets?"
Tharhun, You startle the half-orc, who seemed to be deep in a conversation with a rat and seabird, seemingly mediating between them about a small chunk of bread she had placed on the railing. She answers softly "Ah... Hi-Lo... I mean hello... ah!." She comes across as a shy, somewhat awkward person. She continues "I’d have to ask the captain or Heidi, but I think so. The captain is downstairs, so Heidi... Should we ask her? Can you come with me? I don’t want her to yell... not that she would... she might... can you ask her?"

Vincent shrugs a bit. “No. I know exactly one person within 100 miles, and even so, I only know her casually. Alliez fought. The rest, I think we just all happened to be at the wrong place at the right time... I planned on speaking to the major players after I found out more of the ship and where we’re going. Where -are- we going?”
"I meant settled for the journey. Try to find a comfortable spot and rest. We are headed for Brokenbank, a journey that usually takes about <DM?>. I am worried. What happened in Palma Flora could well have happened there, as well." In a low voice, gazing across the sea towards where he thought Brokenbank was: "I need to find them."
Brokenbank, Bisaft Isle and Port Damali are all around a day to a day and a half away, and the Wavechaser appears to be heading towards either Brokenbank or Bisaft Isle, though the crew hasn’t spoken about their destination yet and look like they are currently just trying to put some distance between the Wavechaser and where Flora Isle was previously located.
Laire looked around to see if there is a quiet spot to sit and talk but stopped when Oden mentioned other islands. Her eyes widened "You are right, did not even think about it. I still do not understand what happened - islands are not supposed to disappear, right? This was not just a very high tide? - but we have to at least warn them."She looked in the direction of Brokenbank (or, better say, where Oden was looking) - as scary and bizarre as the last events were, the sea remained glorious and the sight of endless waves could calm even the worst worries. "Whoever you are searching for, with you to find them safe and sound."

Heidi responds "Well that might make things goin' fore a bit tricky. I reckon th' cap'n had assumed ye were a crew or party based on all th' fightin' 'n savin' that went on. At th' moment we be followin' th' wind away t' put as much distance between us 'n those sea devils as possible. Tharhun cocks his head at the nervous half-orc before lightly chuckling and patting her on the head reflexively. After a few seconds of this however, he pulls his hand back and plays it off, quickly answering, "Yes, that would work wonderfully, thank you. I'll let you lead the way so I may ask this, Heidi, as well." He offers a polite, warm smile to the half-orc, offering up his hand, "Tharhun Yerlow. Hope we can get along, miss....?"

She responds quietly "Um, Hello Tharhun, I'm Dajarkal" she then asks a little bit louder "do you like animals? If you are a friend to animals, we can get along" seeming to brighten herself up just by mentioning animals.
[Below is the character icon I created for Dajarkal, and I think I got her personality just right with it.]
Dajarkal leads Tharhun over to Heidi, who is talking to Vincent. Heidi says to Vincent "Here comes another o' yer not-a-party-mates" and then to Tharhun"Ahoy thar Dragonman, wha' can I do ye fer?"
Steve walks around the deck mewing for attention and accepting pets from whoever will give them. Reguh is sitting crosslegged on the deck, Mumbling to himself trying to figure out what could have happened.
Before being led towards Heidi, Tharhun responds to Dakarkal's question, giving a light smile after a moments ponder, "I tend to like the ones that don't hurt people as much, but I do like most animals...that said, birds are my favorite." He'd then follow her lead.
Upon meeting Heidi, Tharhun gives a polite bow, asking, "Nice to meet you too, I was inquiring to your crewmate here if you ship had any spare blankets, or similar supplies to pass around to the refugees? They've had a long day, and while I would understand if you have no room underneath, I was hoping to ease their hardship." As he talks, the motions back towards the majority of the refugees in question, giving a polite, greeting towards Vincent, with a look of apology for intruding on whatever potential discussion he and the Dwarf were having.

Heidi responds "Do nah worry yer pretty wee snout, we shall make sure our guests are fed 'n warm fer th' trip. We wants th' favour they owe us t' be as great as possible aft all" and she winks at you, before continuing "We only 'ave a few blankets, though thar are a number o' sacks that can be used to keep them warm, which they can reimburse us fer later. I'll 'ave Kijori find out who be th' wealthiest, as we believe in user pays around here, and those that can pay the most..." she lets the sentence trail off.
Upon overhearing Dajarkals words about animals, Steve makes a beeline to her, wings folded, and mews expectantly.
Dajarkal beams a smile when she sees the cat approach. She then sees the folded wings and gasps, "Body-size just under 2 feet, check! Cat-like body, check! Wingspan approximately 3 feet, check! Intelligent look in eyes, check! Oh my goodness, you are truly a tressym, aren't you?" Dajarkal quickly looks around for the most-wizard like person on the boat, spots Reguh and abruptly walks off from Tharhun and Heidi's conversation. Tharhun, you take Dajarkal's bumbling manner when speaking before as being awkwardness rather than a lack of intelligence (if you didn't already).
Dajarkal approaches Reguh and asks "Hello, 1) are you a wizard and 2) is this your tressym?" then quieter "please say yes, please say yes, please say yes."
Aliez spends most of the trip moving among the refuges, hearing their stories and learning about who they are. After a while she walks to an empty part of the ship. Setting down her small brazier, she lights a fire and pulls out a piece of paper. She quickly writes a note down on it and casts it into the fire, which flashes a deep purple color before returning to normal.
A wave of her hand puts the fire out, and Aliez begins walking back towards some of the crew. Before she gets very close, she grabs her ears and whispers, "I can hear you, shut up!" She quickly composes herself again and simply moves to the edge of the ship, watching the waves and humming a tune.
Far away in a tall tower, a robed man pulls a piece of paper out of a purple fire. News from Aliez, how interesting.
Oden takes his leave, smiling, "Thank you. Let us speak again soon, Laire.", looking for another familiar face from the defense of the island. He spots the tall human who fought with the war pick. He looked thoughtful, but Oden had to thank him for his role in the fight.
"Greetings! Thank you for everything you did today. Especially for braving the collapsing tavern and getting those people out. My name is Oden."
