Haha, nice rolls QueersBeyond! Your good rolls along with your specific backstory have thrown a very fun spanner in the works (though not until later). There will have to be a little bit of story that will happen by PM, which might totally change the course of the adventure depending on how you RP it.
Laire could not talk for other "heroes" but Three Earrings had her from "breath like fish. "I want to help,"quietly but firmly said she to the Captain. "Though it might be wise for you to do both - set those of us who wants to save islands on the course, and then go to the Port Demali. In case we fail or they know something, that can stop fishfolk. Or to simply warn them too, they might be in danger as well."
"I want to help," [...] "set those of us who wants to save islands on the course, and then go to the Port Demali."
The captain responds "Three Earrings is happy that friend Laire is so noble, though Three Earrings will stay and make sure the heroes of the Isle return safely after they defeat Selachai. Three Earrings is sure that the heroes of the Isle will be successful".
[I'm assuming that the rest of the characters go along with the majority of the groups decision. If there was something important that players wanted their characters to do that they missed out on, PM me and I'll potentially add it in and have it occur retroactively or discuss the opportunity for you to do it later.]
The captain says "Three Earrings is very pleased that the brave heroes of the Isle have agreed to stop the sea devil Selachai and to become the brave heroes of the Coast of Menagerie. Three Earrings will tell Kijori to change course to Brokenbank. Three Earrings will also have Dillyu prepare a feast and have Heidi set up sleeping quarters in a cabin for the heroes down here." She pauses and seems to read something in Beatrice's expression, and adds "... and also for ALL of the refugees. Three Earrings will have the crew sleep under the stars tonight and have the refugees sleep in the crew's cabin and also enjoy the feast. Three Earrings wants ALL of her guests to be comfortable."
Three Earrings then takes you all back up to the deck, calls out the new destination to Kijori and quickly whispers something Heidi.
Three Earrings stays very close to Aliez, seeming quite impressed and taken in by her, and attempts to start up a conversation "Three Earrings could not help but notice how clever new friend Aliez is. Three Earrings also appreciates friend Aliez's initiative. Does friend Aliez mind Three Earrings asking what Aliez wants out of life?"
Heidi does not seem very happy about what she was told, but takes Dillyu and Beorth downstairs. Some time later, they come back up with all of the crew's belongings (except Three Earring's belongings), and they store the crew's belongings near Kijori. The three of them start helping refugees with their belongings downstairs.
[If there is any further roleplaying players want to do - interacting with each other, with the crew or with the refugees before they go bellow deck, please do so now. Otherwise, I'll move on to dinner and everyone's well deserved long rests fairly quickly. Oh, and Three Earrings continues to stay close to Aliez and will allow Reguh to have a quick look through her spyglass if he asks. Also, before dinner Dillyu asks Oden whether he would be happy to join him to help collect kelp, other seaweed and seafood for the feast that night.]
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"I am glad you think so friend. What do I want out of life? I haven't really thought about that. I am very interested in learning my people's magic to speak with spirits and the dead. Avenging my people against a dragon, but I need a lot more training before I can do that. I like protecting civilization, especially when it is profitable. I haven't really thought out what I want or where I want to be. Why do you ask?"
That is all (mostly) true, if you want deception here it is
22, really just want to serve and protect the empire and get revenge on the kryn but she wouldn't say that to anyone.
If crew was not against it, Laire would ask to sleep under the stars as well. As used as she was to confined places, those places were not rocking and did not smell of fish. Besides, stars reflection in the endless water everywhere the eye could reach - it had to be the sight to see!
"[...]Avenging my people against a dragon, but I need a lot more training before I can do that. I like protecting civilization, especially when it is profitable. [...] Why do you ask?"
She smiles at your answers and says "Three Earrings has a proposal that can help friend Aliez gain the training and power she needs for vengeance, with lots of opportunity for profit." She looks around, then says "Three Earrings will discuss this with friend Aliez later, yes! Let us now speak of the Brokenbank and what the heroes of the Isle can expect there."
Throughout the next couple of hours in conversation she gives you (and anyone else who joins the conversation) some general information, mostly in anecdotes or as part of rumours.
[Info shared: Brokenbank seems to constantly have inclement weather [OOC: I'm imagining Bath, UK weather, where the even the middle of summer seems to be quite cool and it only seems to vary between drizzle and light rain (apologies if anyone is from the UK and that is not a fair representation, it is also a beautiful town, and I'm sure some travellers think the same about Melbourne, Aus). I was trying to think of places I've been to in other parts of the world (US, Europe, Asia), but couldn't think of any; though I believe that Seattle is supposed to have similar weather.] As such the village is rain-slicked and much of the ground is constantly muddy. It is the smallest settlement recognized by the Clovis Concord but is nonetheless is often filled with foreign ships with Inns and Taverns crammed full of travellers. There is a heavy Zhelezo guard presence, and they have a fairly low tolerance for anyone "bending the law". Many a sailor has spent the night in a cell after a drunken night in Brokenbank. There is no marquis, and instead the settlement is run by a tabaxi, Portcaller Mazin “Fat Fish” Fahreed. You can tell that Three Earrings and "Fat Fish" do not get along, with Three Earrings telling a number of off-colour jokes about him.]
Oden agrees [...]"How do you like it on this ship, the crew? I can tell you're new." Perception: 23 Oden takes this chance to check if the ship is being followed.
Dillyu is very happy you agree to help him and seems very happy to have someone (especially another sea elf) to talk to, saying in Aquan after you dive in:
"Thank you, I was worried about being able to gather enough food, especially since the captain changed the feast from being just a feast for the crew and your party to include all the refugees. I have to say, I'm not sure how you lot convinced the captain to do that or to put the refugees down in our crew quarters, but Heidi's displeasure alone is worth the extra bullying that I'll get for the next week. I also quite like sleeping on the deck anyway, with the ocean sounds, sea spray and rain. It is much nicer than being stuck below deck, surrounded by snoring crew. I think Dajarkal also prefers sleeping under the stars... though she is also the source of much of the snoring below deck. When she spends the night under the stars, she seems to spend less time sleeping and more time speaking to her animal friends anyway, so less snoring" and he under-water-chuckles.
This leads on to your questions nicely, which he answers "Yes, both Dajarkal and I are new, we both joined the crew only a week or so ago in Nicodranas. I'm not sure where they found her, but I'd just finished a stint on a much larger merchant vessel and was looking for my next job down at the docks. As you may have picked up, I'm having a bit of trouble with Heidi. She really seems to have it in for me. I have worked as a sailor since I was 12 when my... No need to burden you with that, but I have worked as a sailor since I was 12 and until my time on the Wavechaser I have only had praise about my work. Here on the Wavechaser I can't seem to do anything right in Heidi's eyes. I have been ready to leave each time we dock, but the captain seems to always know just what to say to keep me on board, though now with what is happening, I'm glad to have stayed. I hear we are to help you and your party defeat the sahuagin priestess that attacked Flora Isle. Does your party do these heroic sorts of things often?"
There is nothing following the Wavechaser that you can see.
I'll get you to make a survival check, to figure out how much food you collect. Dillyu's roll: 11
"I may be interested. But yes, first priority is stopping this fish folk and making a pretty penny of off it," Aliez says excitedly. She will do all she can to help and learn about Broken Bank.
Does your party do these heroic sorts of things often?"
I'll get you to make a survival check, to figure out how much food you collect. Dillyu's roll: 19
Survival: 13, or inspiration 18
"I hope Heidi eases up on you as time goes by. Maybe it's her idea of an initiation rite. Or maybe she's worried you'll slip up like the one you've replaced. I've heard some rumours, but maybe you already know... Let's focus on the task."
"I hope Heidi eases up on you as time goes by. Maybe it's her idea of an initiation rite. Or maybe she's worried you'll slip up like the one you've replaced. I've heard some rumours, but maybe you already know... Let's focus on the task."
Dillyu hands you a net and hessian sack and starts harvesting food from the sea into his net and sack, responding in Aquan:
"I hope you are right, though I have a feeling she just gets pleasure from tormenting me. Hopefully we leave no room for criticism with our catch!"
Dillyu quickly fills his sack with kelp like algae, small sardine like surface fish and some mussel-like molluscs from the boat's hull, then catches just over half a dozen small fish in his net. He turns to you and motions that it is probably time to get back to the boat and peers into your net and sack. Up to that point you had only managed to gather some seaweed and a few crustaceans from the boat's hull and Dillyu looks concerned. You see this and through your compassion (and the use of the inspiration you were awarded, which rolled a nat 20) you channel Deep Sashelas, who guides an entire school of red spotted catsharks towards you and into your net. Your net is now full of these small (40 - 50cm long) sharks, that are a pest species. Even though they are too small to cause any serious harm to humanoids, they often out-compete all other species in an area and cause the habitat to collapse before moving on. They are also particularly delicious tasting, though are usually extremely hard to catch because of their speed and size.
Dillyu recognises the effort you made and understands that you sacrificed something valuable to help him and you can see the deep appreciation in his eyes.
You both head back to the Wavechaser and Heidi, try as she might, cannot find anything to criticise about the catch.
Aliez:
Please roll a deception check (though do not write that is what it is, just do a roll) vs Three Earring's insight 16

Beatrice gives up on trying to crane her neck to see over the desk at the map. "I want to help too," she says, nodding at Laire.
Oden cannot help but smile as the others announce their joining in. He stands straight, hand on his coral weapon, and says: "Count me in!"
“I am in as well... perhaps when we finish I could examine your spyglass. It has piqued my interest!”
Reguh gives a slight bow and a smile to Three Earrings
Vincent nods to Oden and the others proudly. “Excellent. We’re on a mission it seems.”
