I am fine, friend Oden, and happy to keep watch, Kenton says as Oden joins him. But also glad of the company, if you wish to stay. Your... group of friends seem an interesting bunch. Have you fought together long?
Don't worry too much about Voskiir, I've met his type before. Wealthy background, good salary, doesn't like talking about money because he doesn't need to. Jaxon Brand and his family will see you right - very grounded in the real world, despite their riches. They know things would grind to a halt if brave and resourceful folk are not properly remunerated.
Once back on board the Wavechaser/Eurus: Boerth offers to stay up and navigate/pilot back to the Palma Flora area, with Kenton remaining nearby on deck.
Boerth seems extremely grateful to Oden for saving him from being arrested as a pirate, is sheepish around Beatrice and Dillyu who he had shared deep personal conversations with and then fought against, though is wary of the gnome wizard who blasted him with a thunderwave while he was trying to decide which side to take in the conflict.
If any of you want to stay up and watch Boerth because you don't trust him, let me know in the next hour real time (though Kenton is there). If not, those that were going to finish their long rest go immediately back to bed after returning to the ship.
Anyone not finishing off the long rest can do what they were going to do instead.
[After finishing your long rests or other activities in lieu of a long rest:]
You are all awoken by the smell of Dillyu’s cooking in the early to mid morning. He brings you all plantain pancakes, clearly inspired by Vincent and Beatrice thinking his cooking ingredients were contraband the night before. He also somewhat nervously hands anyone that wants it a cup of the kawfee, saying “I don’t know how, but the Concord missed the crate of dried kawfee beans when they took all the rest of the Eurus's goods. I feel bad and know I shouldn't use any of the beans, but I'm hooked on this drink.”
As you all move to the deck (or stand up if you slept on the deck) you see the coastline of the Menagerie Coast in the distance. Looking closer, you can make out the mainland section of Palma Flora, which is intact but appears deserted.
Boerth tells you all “I believe we are a quarter of an hour or less from Sharkfeather Abyss.” Boerth points out where he believes the island once was in the water a fair way ahead, though as I believe nobody has a spy glass to help with looking closer, you can't see much except somewhat murky water marked by only a few stray scraps of driftwood bobbing lazily on the surface.
After serving up breakfast, Dillyu seems to be readying himself to join you all on the dive.
Dajarkal is looking a bit nervous and patting a manky looking sea rat.
Boerth is at the wheel, looking tired.
Let me know what you want to do in the 15 minutes or so before arriving at Sharkfeather Abyss, including any NPC interactions you want to have.
Your... group of friends seem an interesting bunch. Have you fought together long?
"We've met less than two days ago, actually. We're strangers, really, but I think the very fact they are here shows they's good people. Let's make sure we don't lose anyone today."
In the morning, Oden takes a serving of pancakes and, after taking a sniff, decides to stay away from the kawfee drink. He goes around to speak with people before they arrive.
To Aliez: "What you did last night shocked many people, including me. I'm sure you had a reason, and I'm hoping you'll trust us enough to explain when this business is done. Let's take care of one another down there."
He goes to Boerth to say: "Thanks for working so hard to get us here. I'll ask someone to stay at the helm when we leave, so you can rest.", and after a moment: "Listen... I'm glad you're with us. Don't worry too much about what happened last night. Decisions we're made in the spur of the moment, and they shouldn't define our feelings going forward. You're part of this crew now."
Oden then speaks with Dillyu and Dajarkal and asks if one of them can stay with the ship to help Boerth, leaving the decision to them if no one else has an opinion.
Aliez stops Oden as he tells her he was shocked, "That pirate had been threatening me and the rest of you since I got on the ship. I was not going to turn my back on her. She was not to be trusted. A dead pirate is much easier to deal with than a living one. I know I can make harsh decisions, but the fact I am still here is because of them. I will try to hold back in the future, but not if it is between that, and a sword in my chest." She stops and smiles for a moment at Oden, "And when have I not aided everyone in a fight. You are all much more highly trained in combat than I."
[...] You were a crewmember of this Revelry pirate? he asks in a disapproving tone.
Boerth looks very alarmed and responds "Kord no!!! I mean, maybe, but not knowingly and willingly. The captain said the Wavechaser was a trade vessel when she hired me. Over the month or more I was a crewmember, I didn't see anything except the transport and sale of goods happen. She even "made an example" of two crew members that she found out broke the law. Stormlord strike me down if I'm lying, I swear I didn't know Three Earrings, or whatever her real name was,was a Revelry pirate."
Oden then speaks with Dillyu and Dajarkal and asks if one of them can stay with the ship to help Boerth, leaving the decision to them if no one else has an opinion.
Dillyu seems very keen to join, saying "You and me friend, we are in this together! Also, I have my own score to settle with sea-devils, they are the blight of the sea."
Dajarkal seems relieved, saying "I can definitely help... I just am not very good at the whole 'swimming thing'... I once almost drowned in a bath... that was only a quarter full... sober and during the day... Don't get me wrong, I can swim usually, just sometimes not very well. I feel bad though. I can possibly cast a spell on one of you to help you in the fight. Maybe Beast Sen... no none of you are animals. How about a spell that turns someone's skin into living bark!!! Yes, like tree bark, but living!! How crazy is that? Living bark!!! Oh yeah, I can also help you find out where this Selachai is if you want." [Her goofy nature has returned now she isn't in secret agent mode.]
"This Kawfee seems very interesting. Thank you Dillyu." Upon drinking the kawfee, Aliez walks over to the edge of the ship and begins talking very quickly to herself, mumbling rapidly. (x7,y13)
For anyone who hasn't already, as per post 729, please let me know where your character is (at least if you want them somewhere specific - if so, provide coordinates or explicit instructions). Otherwise I'll place them to my best guess based on what you have posted or will place them randomly.
Kenton is at x4, y4 as shown already on the map, speaking with Boerth. Lieutenant Commander Larth has made his judgement already, my friend, and you have your freedom. That is the end of the matter as far as I am concerned.
Kenton looks out to the sea, enjoying the view, then turns to start observing his new comrades in arms, trying to gauge their strength and skills.
...I can possibly cast a spell on one of you to help you in the fight. Maybe Beast Sen... no none of you are animals. How about a spell that turns someone's skin into living bark!!! Yes, like tree bark, but living!! How crazy is that? Living bark!!! Oh yeah, I can also help you find out where this Selachai is if you want."
"Oh, that would be very helpful! Finding Selachai, I mean... not sure about that living bark magic, but if you think it helps... Would it help one of our less armoured friends?", suggests Oden, not sure he wanted his skin turned into bark, living or otherwise.
Dajarkal says "I have a spell that allows me to find the nearest sahuagin, but it might take me the next 10 minutes or so to cast" [she can cast using a spell slot instead, she is suggesting casting it as a ritual].
She thinks about who might be good to cast barkskin on for only a few seconds before a big toothy grin crosses her face "I could cast it on Steve... or Reguh, I really like Reguh too. I haven't got to pat Steve for ages though, like since last night at dinner time. Can Steve wait here with me while you all go diving? Cats H.A.T.E. water. I should ask Reguh, not you. Business first though, finding sahuagin" (She may be a bit disappointed when Steve is bamfed into a much less cuddly quipper or octopus, though will probably still find the sea horse totally kawaii.)
I'll randomise where Vincent and Beatrice are and move them to the closest available square (but they can update on location if they want to be somewhere specific): Vincent (x4,y5), Beatrice (x3,y7)
Oden turns and leans on the railing: "Get ready, everyone. Dajarkal will point us in the right direction with her magic. She also suggested turning Reguh's or Steve's skin into bark, which I'm sure is a good thing, coming from her. Kenton, you can take Laire's water-breathing helmet, I believe everyone else has that covered. In case a helmet breaks, how many backup potions do we have?"

“I’d like to grab a light crossbow and some bolts if you don’t mind, Larth“
Also, I’d like to take the time to copy the alter self spell into my spell book at some point.

Also, let me know where you are on deck:
I'm going back to the (non-standard) cartesian coordinate system that we used on Flora Isle, as dropping it last fight caused some confusion I think.
(Kenton's position is fine.)
So, Kenton says to Boerth, you are not one of the group I have met? You were a crewmember of this Revelry pirate? he asks in a disapproving tone.
"We've met less than two days ago, actually. We're strangers, really, but I think the very fact they are here shows they's good people. Let's make sure we don't lose anyone today."

Reguh downs some Kawfee as he finishes up copying the spell.
Constitution saving throw 22
"This Kawfee seems very interesting. Thank you Dillyu." Upon drinking the kawfee, Aliez walks over to the edge of the ship and begins talking very quickly to herself, mumbling rapidly. (x7,y13)
For anyone who hasn't already, as per post 729, please let me know where your character is (at least if you want them somewhere specific - if so, provide coordinates or explicit instructions). Otherwise I'll place them to my best guess based on what you have posted or will place them randomly.

Kenton looks out to the sea, enjoying the view, then turns to start observing his new comrades in arms, trying to gauge their strength and skills.
Oden spoke to Dillyu and Dajarkal last, so he would be at x3,y13.
Reguh is at x7,y5 sitting on the stairs petting Steve
"Oh, that would be very helpful! Finding Selachai, I mean... not sure about that living bark magic, but if you think it helps... Would it help one of our less armoured friends?", suggests Oden, not sure he wanted his skin turned into bark, living or otherwise.

She starts preparing the ritual to cast Locate Animals or Plants.
I'll randomise where Vincent and Beatrice are and move them to the closest available square (but they can update on location if they want to be somewhere specific): Vincent (x4,y5), Beatrice (x3,y7)
Don't read the following for the moment:
