Cobash holds out his hand to stop Branra. "Why your patron not let you leave? What have they over you to hold you here like slave?" He gives an evil eye to the door to the back, not liking the idea of the woman being held here against her will, then looks back to Sedna. "I am Cobash, once tribal chief. You fight me."
Tarric shakes his head; "I've never heard of anything like this within the Empire." Sedna speaks up; "You wouldn't have. I hid it out of shame that something had bested me." She lowers her head, looking down at the ground, and continues; "This shop used to be in ruins. I walked past it many times while working as a Hero of the Realm. One day I decided to clean it up and take the upstairs as my home. The place had been abandoned so long that no one complained when I started fixing it up; and then I found it. In the back room; buried under a broken shelf, embedded into the floor. If I had known what would happen when I touched it, I would have ran; fled for my life."
Tears are now freely flowing from her face as she tremors in rage. "I didn't want to run a healing shop; wouldn't even have known how to if I hadn't touched that cursed thing. But I did touch it, and now I can never leave. Believe me, I've tried." She laughs a sad laugh to herself. "Do you know what I was going to do? I was going to run a little shop to sell off my trophies from my quest; you know, spare weapons, monster horns, stuff like that. If only I had known that the last adventure was my final one." She sits down onto a wooden stool. "So, I am grateful for your offers to fight, and I'll eager defeat you both as soon as you are ready." A eager smile crosses her face and her eyes light up with energy, even as tears continue to fall.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
“I know your want to wander the world,” Cobash nods, knowingly, ”What does cursed thing look like? We could look to rid you of curse... maybe for potions?” (persuasion: 11) Cobash smiles awkwardly, but it fades quickly as he says, “But we can fight whenever.”
"Let's hold off on fighting, perhaps the loser will be forced to become the clerk. Why don't we see what is behind that door." Branra then begins to move toward the door at the back of the shop, pulling out his sword as he moves in that direction.
Sedna gets up; "Yeah, maybe you can make more sense of it than I." She leads the way to the thick dark wooden door in the back of the room. She opens it up and at first it is filled with shadows; until a faint glow from the back of the room can be seen as your eyes adjust. Sedna walks in, motioning for others to follow. She stops infront of the item, a small foot high pyramid shaped object, white in color; with faintly glowing yellow symbols. The area around it is scattered with several iron picks, all of which have the metal bent and dulled, and the shafts broken. An ornately designed axe lays there as well, chipped and broken like the rest. Each shaft, as well as the floor of the area, is covered with dried blood.
Branra stands there looking at the thing with a puzzled look on his face. Studying it closely, he looks at the symbols to see if their shapes may correspond with numbers and to see if they are all lit. Finally, after staring at the pyramid thing, he turns and looks at Sedna and says "Is the blood on the shafts yours? Did you get that from the axe handles breaking or did you get attacked by spirits from within the pyramid?"
ooc By spirits, I am referring to any type of magic emanating from the pyramid. In his barbarian mindset, Branra thinks that all magics are tied into spirits or demons.
(Both Luna and Addi would be able to recognize the symbols as Celestial in nature.)
"Yeah." Sedna says. "I first tried to dig up the ground around the object to try to see about physically removing it. When that failed, I used my prized magic axe both on the ground and on the object; no effect for either. Whatever magic this is, it expands under the entire shop." A grimace of memory comes back to her. "Eventually frustration and desperation took over and I just kept trying until my hands bleed raw with blood; and even beyond that. When my magic axe broke; that was when I knew I was defeated." She shakes her head, pain and tension throughout her body. "That was when I started following the knowledge stuck in my head; pretended to the customers that I always wanted to open a healing shop, and been stuck here ever since."
As the party files in towards the back of the shop, Redrik follows, curiosity evident on his face. His eyes bug a little bit when he sees the pyramid, but he doesn't recognize anything special about it besides its clear magical properties.
Luna; upon placing your hand on the object, it glows a bright white color; suddenly your mind is flooded with knowledge about countless plants and their beneficial qualities, as well as how to merge those into products. You feel a strong urge to heal others, overpoweringly so; like it is now your purpose in life. Moments later the object returns to normal and Luna's hand and body falls limp towards the ground; unconscious from the experience.
Sedna replies; "All I did was what she just did; touch that stupid thing." She kicks it before continuing. "My guess is that she'll have all that stupid knowledge in her head too and likely has just became my assistant; if things go for her like they did for me."
"Did you pass out when you touched the pyramid? Can you leave now?"
After listening to Sedna's response, Branra heads outside to the carriage and grabs his quarterstaff. He comes back inside and slowly walks around the cursed device, looking at the thing. Are all of the symbols glowing yellow? Are there any other markings or features on the pyramid?
After walking around the pyramid a couple times, he stops and motions everyone away from the thing. He will then place one end of his quarterstaff on the base of the object and try to move it. If nothing happens, he will walk around to each side of the pyramid and try to move it by pushing on the base with the quarter staff.
Sedna nods; "Yep, don't know how long I was out either." She looks towards the door, then back at Branra. "Good question." She says in response to asking if she can leave. As Branra heads outside Sedna follows. Upon reaching a few steps past the doorway she suddenly slams into some kind of force barrier; the magic of which ripples the air around her. She lowers her head and shakes it; before stepping aside for Branra to return with the staff.
As Branra looks over the object, he notices how each of the symbols are still glowing faintly yellow; but nothing else seems to stand out about it. Stepping over Luna's unconscious body, Branra tries to push the object in multiple directions; none of which budge it any. Sedna comes back to inform the group; "Sadly I am still trapped here. It's appearing likely that I'll be here for the rest of my life." Her muscular body stands slumped, overcome by depression.

"Hmm, troubling. Have not seen one like this before," Cobash turns to the others, "You seen this in travels? Luna. Do you know these magics?"

Luna looks at the writings and reads aloud; "Bind To Heal Others" then looks at the shop keep with a questioning look.
"What?" Sedna replies. "Can...can you read that?"
(Luna, make a Perception Check)
There is something vaguely familiar about this object to Luna, but she can't recall what.
"Yes I can read it, it's in celestial." Luna leans forward, places her hand on the pyramid object, and cast Cure wounds.
