"Sorry Darla,"Stanley replies. "I was just thinking about how we can make this possible. I don't want to die out there. I don't want you to die out there either." He says a little more stubbornly. "I know that there are scrolls and potions that exist that would allow us to breathe underwater. Things I wouldn't even have to or couldn't learn, that we could use. I guess we'll just have to see if we come across any." He looks out over the water again, then back at the people aboard the ship. "Darla, we should practice fighting a little. Until my magic gets better... well, I feel useless. We could both use some training. You're better at it than I am. Whaddya' say?" he asks her.

Boerth rears his hand back on a fist and just before he thrusts it forward, you hear, "Put him down, Mr. Boerth, unless you want to be sahuagin food! Everyone knows you cheat." Elegantly floating down the stairs is Captain Three Earrings.
Boerth grumbles, giving you the stink-eye, but he sets you down less than gingerly.
"There you are Mr. Boerth. Now, everyone get to sleep. We have a big day tomorrow."
Then, walking over to Usul, she puts her arm around him so that she can speak quietly without being overheard by others, and she says, "Lesson for the wise: never accuse someone bigger and stronger than you of cheating unless you can handle the consequences. On a ship like this, you might have to count on him to watch your back. Best not make waves."
Then, with a smile and a nod/short bow, she heads back upstairs.
Tumbling to the ground Usul stands up, brushes himself off, and stands up straight and says, attempting an aura of arrogance ((though it's more cute/fake than real)), and says "hmph! Enjoy your game gentlemen." At this he leaves to join his companions and immediately forgets about the game starting to ramble excitedly about going to a new big city and all the things there are to see there.
Stanley decides to grab his quarterstaff, and "dances" with Darla for a bit, feeling more comfortable with parrying and striking. “Wake up, travelers!” The voice of Boerth rouses you from slumber. The sun is barely above the horizon, but you can just make out the docks of Port Damali through the porthole window of your cabin. “It’s past dawn and time to get moving.”
As you all emerge from your cabin, you find the refugees, few as they were, packing up their belongings and getting ready to disembark. One of the refugees approaches the group and says, "Thank you so much for your part in helping us escape. Without your help, the ship would have been overrun and we wouldn't have survived. Here," he says as he reaches his hand out and takes Darla's in his, "take this as my 'thank you'." Then, he politely walks away, leaving a small pouch filled with 20 gold in it.

"Alright, team," Captain Three Earrings says to you, "first thing's first: I need you to give this letter to the smithy." She hands a letter over to Nalos. "That letter is not for your eyes, so I'm going to trust that you won't read it. But, that letter is going to get us the equipment we need for those of you that don't breathe water."
"Far be it fur me tae look a gift horse in th' gob, aye." Darla says, nudging Stanley's hip with her elbow. "Fair's fair o' course. Four apiece fer five o' us ought tae do it." For Usul:
Filling in the blank with: "of the marid from the sewers"
The jewel of the Menagerie Coast, the original Marquesian colony, and the unofficial capital of free trade outside the empire, Port Damali is a bustling city filled with music, color, and commerce. The massive port hosts ships from all around the world, creating a mishmash of cultures and trades that mingle to form the society of Port Damali. Trade routes splinter from all other sides of the city to ensure rapid transport of goods to destinations throughout Wildemount and beyond.
Until recently, many of the businesses in Port Damali were heated and powered by a system of steam-powered engines, which were installed beneath the city's streets. Unknown to most citizens, a marid had been shackled within the sewers to power the steam engines for decades. Recently, another marid in Nicodranas was freed from a similar situation, inspiring an anonymous adventurer to free the marid in Port Damali from its shackles, leaving the engines inert and many businesses without power. A large group of hired druids and mages are maintaining what functionality they can, but Marquis Olesya Lapidus is desperately looking for an alternative energy source or a replacement for the steam engines.
"Oh, Ah surely believe it lad." Darla answers with a laugh, then quieter so only Stanley can hear. "Ah may need tae make a small detour though. Big place like this, Ah'd hope th' caravan may've passed through. Need tae ask about."
Nalos looks at everyone and says, "Are you all ready? Once we deliver this letter to the smithy, we can look into other shops. Port Damali is big enough that it's got something for everyone, no doubt."
