The brisk night air is refreshing. Krusk finds an excellent campsite with help from Chikra. Hallanann scan the horizon and is confident there are no threats. For miles all that can be seen is wind swept sand and rocks.
Everyone gets a long rest, as there were no interruptions in the night.
In the morning you have captured about a gallon of water between the dew catchers. You set off across the desert, and see nothing on your first day. In the early hours of the following day, the early morning scout spots two cyclops heading your way. Due to their poor eye sight, they have not spotted you, and are about 200 feet away having just come around a rock outcropping.
"Cyclops! Stoopid one eye big mans. Only two, we take them?"Excitement and anger in his words. He draws both hand axes and swings them in a helical pattern. "Osso hate big stoopid mans. Too many times they attack my village. Kill friends and kin. Now me kill them." His impatience showing, but as he knows how deadly this enemy can be, he shows restraint waiting to see if the others will join him.
Chikra looks at the dune crawler and the camels. "I don't think we can hide everyone." (are we close enough to the the rocky outcroppings that there are places to hide, or are we still on the dunes?)
Lia sighs as one of her companions seems intent on fighting the large brutes. "We could probably circle wide of them, and not have to fight at all..." She suggest to her companions. She does not expect it to go that way so is already summoning her heavy crossbow into her hands.
Vor, after having spent a restful and uneventful night, sets out on the morn hoping to see the end of the desert soon.
"Oi has nae a loikin' fer sand in m' brekast, t'is 'ard t' git th' grit oot w' me toothpick," he grumps, waving one of his daggers at the world in general. "Seems tha's all these is good fer any morre!" He sheathed the offensive piece of steel with a disappointed scowl. "It bes as though ther' ain't nae fairness inna world anymoore, when Oi canna poke 'oles in thin's from a fur piece, jes don feel roight, it don't."
When he see the Cyclops's he perks up a bit. "Oi roightly agreees wi' Osso, 't would be fun turnin' thems inta sieves, but," he sighs heavily, "Oi tinks we've more important thin's ta' bes doin' than 'aving a bit o' fun with them loikes. Sorry Osso, Oi gotts t' agree wi' Lia." He grins broadly, "But mayhaps they'll bes round 'ere on 'r way, aye?"

Panic is a mechanism that strengthens the gene pool.
“I agree with Lia and Vor,” Krusk says fully energized after a long rest. “I’m not interested in almost dying again, and there may be more of them. Circling wide might be our best option, since they don’t have the best eyesight and it doesn’t seem they’ve seen us yet.”
"It might be wiser to save our energy and our resources if we don't need to fight, Osso," Hallanann says. "Does anyone see a way to go around them without catching their attention?"
The Cyclops, standing over 20 feet tall, lumber through the sand, looking around, but not seeing you yet as they approach. Their large feet drag slowly through the sand leaving deep and long footprints. Judging by the direction they are heading, they will see you soon if you stay put. Given their speed, if you want to avoid being detected you would need to head away quickly without packing up camp. You would leave behind some water and food, and your camping supplies.
There isn't a rock outcropping large enough to hide everyone, but there may be enough places if everyone scattered. However, there will be a chance that the cyclopes will see all the movement.
Vor will fade into the surrounds and, at the appropriate moment, spring an ambush using his Sneak attack and Assassination abilities to their maximum effect. At least that is the plan.

As four of his friends seem against fighting the Cyclops', Osso appears a little disheartened. Then he watches those same members hide around him. A little confused he turns to his closest colleague. "We fight stoopid mans or we hide like mouses?"Upon hearing that a fight it is, his excitement grows again. Twofold. "Me be bait. Me stand out front and bring them to us. Then you all attack. Osso be ok. Spirits protect now."He raises an arm and looks at his tattoos. "Good plan, yes?"
If his friends agree, he will turn to the camels and dune crawlers and ask them to stay clear of the battle.
(OMG. I did not realize it has been so long since I posted. Sorry everyone.)
Osso - drawing attention of the cyclops
Chikra - prepares to fight, hiding for an ambush
Lia - prepares to fight, hiding for an ambush
Vor - prepares to fight, hiding for an ambush
Krusk - prepares to fight, hiding for an ambush
The cyclopses see Osso alone making broad gestures, the camels and the rest of the part seem to be unnoticed at the moment. The one eyed monsters swing arrantly with their clubs as they approach. One of these giant monsters picks up a bolder and lobs it toward Osso. Attack: 15 Damage: 26 vs AC 16
The bolder lands inches from Osso with a thud that trembles across the ground.
(OOC, I thought there are AC and hit bonuses based on the difference in size. Is that just a 3.5e thing? I can't find it in 5e)
If you are preforming a ranged attack, you can break cover and do it this round. If you want to rush the cyclops, and not get a surprise attack you can also do it this round. If you want to preform a surprise attack, you will need to wait until next round when the cyclops are closer.
The rock landing almost at his feet drives Osso into a rage. He hurls one of his hand axes at the nearest Cyclops ( if he's close enough or can gain the distance to be within range)
Attack: 25 Damage: 8
As the axe leaves his hand, his tattoos shift to form the bear claw pattern as seen before ((BTW this is purely RP. No magical effect or anything))
Krusk stays hiding, waiting for a surprise attack against the cyclops. Once they are available for him to perform a surprise attack, I will attack them.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Osso, the nearest Cyclops is 55 feet away, so I think you would be rolling your range attack at a disadvantage.
Hallanann pops out from behind his cover and launches a fire bolt at the nearest cyclops (I think you would have surprise attack advantage, so you can roll one more d20)
Lia, positioned behind the cover of a rock outcropping, shoots a bolt into the nearest Cyclops and does 13 damage
Krusk, Chikra, and Vor stays hidden, waiting to make their move.
Krusk is hiding 25 feet from the nearest cyclops. Hallanann is behind partial cover 40 feet from the nearest cyclops. Osso is out in the open 55 feet from the nearest cyclops. Chickra and Vor are hiding 60 feet away waiting to make their move.

(In that case fight it is. Lia would not suggest leaving supplies and gear behind.)
(Agreed. If we can scramble an ambush or at least a surprise round and move the animals away at least, that would be fine.)
