OOC: Yes, visiting the place where she can find a hireling will be the first thing at the morning (after the sword ritual, of course) Ola would do, even before breakfast. Hireling has to have his transportation or know where the one can be rented (a mule or a donkey will do).
Cabbage stew was not Ola's favourite dish yet (more like a still standing reason to consider return to "Tea Kettle") but surely they had at least some fresh bread as well. "Sylyra is also the one with the scouting skills,"in a matter-of-fact manner mentioned Ola, "but if you care about group formation, the next spot might be my, simply for combat style reasons".
"Are we ready to go?" Her horse was chosen for the good behaviour with someone, who can not talk to animals, and aesthetics - Ola was not a stellar rider and did not plan to participate in the Derby any time soon, but as anyone appreciated the beauty.
OOC: Depending on whether we ride two abreast or single file, based on the width of roads and such, that might determine our formation for travel. If we're dealing with wider roads vs narrower roads.
If we can ride two abreast, Eonis suggests a formation with both Sylyra and Ola Old in the front row, Eonis in the middle row, and Uragum and Arnald in the rear row, with Arnald and Sylyra on opposite sides of one another. "Unless you have a different preferred marching and riding formation," Eonis adds. "I would say at present having one of our members with the most honed senses in the front to be wary for dangers ahead, and another in the rear to watch for ambush from behind, seems most prudent. This allow for allows one of them monitoring each of our flanks."
Ola would absentmindedly nod to suggestion, but her main concern is to be close enough to the danger to attract the attention of whatever is going to attack the group, so, she will try to stay at the head of the procession, yet, giving room to Sylyra to work his scouting magic.
"Sure sure, that all sounds find. Let's just get on with it. Ghosty pirates to kill, people to save, mysteries to unlock!" Uragum says as he finishes strapping down his horse. He pets the creature on the and feeds him part of an apple he had left. "Imma gonna call you Calvary, Cal for short and we are gonna go fight some pirates... or you'll take us to a dock to get on a ship then im going to but no matter."
He climbs upon the beast. "Shall we ride off into the morn now. Id like to show up by sunset like some heroes of old coming to save the day."

OOC: Lol, typo there. Ola is far from Ola the Old.

"Yes, I'm sure we'll present ourselves quite clearly as altruistic adventurers there to provide aid, to avoid any unnecessary skirmishes based on misunderstandings," Eonis says, taking a bit of the grandeur out of it. "I am ready to ride on this horse. I'll elect not to give it a name as it isn't my property, and that might infringe on the owner's rights of naming."
"Are you going to talk the whole way there?" Sylyra asks, not looking at Eonis, but clearly speaking to her. "If so, I might want to bring a couple bottles of wine to help dull my ears." He flashes his eyes at the cleric and then leans forward, places a hand against his steed's neck and says very kindly, "Let's go," in Sylvan.
OOC: So, there's a sixth coming with us? Someone Ola has hired?

With no intent at banter or rapport at all, but absolute seriousness, Eonis says, “If conversation is going to encourage alcoholism that could harm our group’s efficacy. I’ll endeavor to keep such exchanges focused to necessary tactical discussions and avoid social pleasantries, as I don’t want to act as a trigger for addiction. I know firsthand how much of a struggle that can be. May Tyr give you strength in your struggle for wellness, Sylyra.”
OOC: For the sake of moving forward, I'll assume Arnald is alright with that order as well. We'll use that marching order through this adventure unless you tell me otherwise.
The horses that the Doomguide left for you are well-trained, and respond easily to your wishes as you ride. The first stop in the morning is a local laborers' guild, where a bulky human man named Jakobe agrees to accompany you as a hired hand for the rate of two silver pieces per day. The rental of a mule for Jakobe brings the total cost of the retainer to two gold pieces per day. He is a simple man, and quiet as you begin your journey.
The Iron Route, the main road along the north side of the Moonsea, runs all the way from Zhentil Keep to Phlan and beyond. Travel along it is swift and generally safe, at least as far as can be expected in the violent and unpredictable region. With the sun high above gathering storm clouds, you make your way outside of Phlan and well on your way West, when you chance upon some stranded travelers.
A wagon is pulled to the side of the road with a broken axel ahead. A young human boy tends a campfire while a man in merchant clothing digs in the back of the wagon.
OOC: For the sake of moving forward, I'll assume Arnald is alright with that order as well. We'll use that marching order through this adventure unless you tell me otherwise.
OOC: He very much is. He also has Sly flying in circles overhead keeping watch.
When Sly relays the information about the broken wagon Arnald passes word up the line with the question, "Dare we delay?"
“I would say we must,” Eonis answers Arnald. “Both because the nature of our mission is at least in part undefined and investigatory in nature- it’s possible these stranded travelers could know some tidbit of information that could illuminate the cause for these attacks. Additionally it’s just the right thing to do.”
Ola looked intently at the merchant (does he fit the description of a lost merchant?) and stopped her chestnut mare near the wagon. "Good morning, sir. You seem to be in needs for assistance. Can we help?"
Before setting out, in response to Eonis's retort concerning alcoholism, Sylyra looks at the woman, his face stony. After some long seconds, he finally turns and silently continues toward the road. When Ola says they need to stop at the laborers' guild, the elf raises a hand to the sky in exasperation. "Auril's Kiss! Are we raising an army?" but he makes no actual objection. After Jakobe has mounted his mule and taken his place beside Eonis in the middle of the party, Sylyra looks around at the others. "Is there anyone else to join us? A lover or parent, perhaps?" he grouses.
Sylyra sighs at the sight of the wagon, but does not complain when the others opt to lend aid. He focuses first on the wagon's animal or animals, however, looking for or after them to make sure they are well and safe as the others start with the humans. He speaks to them as he would a friend while directing his own horse with words and the reins — never a kick or a slap.

Eonis allows Ola to make the greetings, but makes clear view of her symbols of Tyr as she approaches, as these may be people of the faith who would take comfort in such things. She does make a habitual appraisal of each of them, watching their faces for signs of treachery or eyes darting to watch for allies pouncing from concealment while they act as a distraction. She doesn’t voice any of her likely baseless concerns, she has grown self aware of her own paranoia, but she is cautious nonetheless.
You were not given much of a physical description by Dornal, but this definitely seems to be a merchant wagon, based on the cargo it carries and the clothing the man wears.
The merchant man backs away from Ola cautiously, tugging on the boy's shoulder to grab his attention. "Son. Behind the wagon, now," he says. He stands in a defensive posture, though he carries no visible weapons, and replies as the boy darts out of sight, peeking his head around the wagon to watch the scene.
"Good morning strangers. I shall have you know I am no fool. I know the danger of these roads well, and I dare say I shall be on my way shortly with no need of assistance, thank you."
For Eonis:
The man seems wary of this large group of armed travelers, and his eyes never seem to lose sight of the boy even as he looks over all of you.
“You’re right time be cautious when traveling these roads, sir, and protective of your son, but we are not ill intentioned. The gods have smiled on you. I am a cleric of Tyr, associated with the order of the gauntlet, and these people with me are all recognized adventurers who have aided Phlan in the past and now set out to do so again,” Eonis says in her usual staccato manner of speaking. “We’re not threats, in short. If you would me more comfortable with us leaving you be then we will respect that. But if you need some aid, do not hesitate to ask.”
Believing the man to be what he appears to be, a concerned father wary of armed strangers, Eonis attempts to placate him with words, and neutral body language, hands well away from any weapons, and trying to stand at an angle to not highlight her eyepatch.

Arnald steps up to Ola and Eonis, "We understand your caution good sir and mean you no harm. We have been sent out by those in Phlan to investigate a matter of importance so have little time to dally. However, we would be remiss not to offer assistance to one in need and leave you to the 'danger of these roads' as you say. Are you sure there's not something we can do to get you and your son moving toward safety?"
((OOC: Ola was specifically asking Dornal for the merchants description, post 142.))
Not making any sudden move to not agitate man further, Ola added to the calming words of others just one more thing: "If you happen to be merchant Gilfron Milon, know that Dornal Whitebeard is worrying about you and asked us to provide some assistance, should we find you in trouble."
