”Well, Leto, it looks like the others just took what they wanted and left. More than a bit rude, I would say. What do you think? We could consult with an older dragon in the hopes they know more, or a sage in one of these larger cities. I had assumed we were all trying to coordinate efforts, but it seems while I was engaging in diplomacy the others showed a good deal of myopic thinking and decided to make themselves scarce,” Mylene says. “What do you think, Leto? We can pick a destination and likely arrive there fairly quickly. I still wouldn’t mind coordinating with the others to a degree, keeping tabs on one another voluntarily is preferable to the alternative of unwelcome surprises. What are your thoughts, at present? Honestly I am just pleased that we made the very sort of friend I was hoping we would.”

Mylene and Leto.
It is now around noon. The hobgoblins have set up a HQ in the small cottage attached to the tower. The four cultists are in the main tower most of the time, the half-dragon their nominal leader.
What are your plans?
On the floor around the chest are:
253 GP
583 SP
975 CP
12 emeralds
Beneath the pile of coins is a rusty old battleaxe of dwarven manufacture. Runes in Dwarvish on the axe head read, “Hew,” and the rust is misleading. Hew is a +1 battleaxe that deals maximum damage when the wielder hits a plant creature or an object made of wood. The axe’s creator was a dwarf smith who feuded with the dryads of a forest where he cut firewood. Whoever carries the axe feels uneasy whenever he or she travels through a forest.
Remaining in the chest are: 800 sp, 150 gp, four silver goblets set with moonstones (60 gp each), a scroll of misty step, and a scroll of lightning bolt.
Mylene is indeed a bit giddy with the sudden rush of power and riches, but she also finds herself isolated from most of the other Erased, save for Leto, who she has the strongest connection with. She waits to here Leto's thoughts before proceeding with any longer term plans or destinations. "What do you think, Leto? The others seem to have walked away out of fear or jealousy or gods know what. Despite me offering them nothing but a guiding hand in their best interests, again and again, it seems they spurn me. We have a great opportunity here, one that could benefit all of us. One that could help us get closer to what we are seeking. Do you think we should seek an elder dragon or a learned sage to consult with? Should we give the others an opportunity to reap in our successes, if they should be willing to humble themselves and accept our magnanimous gesture?"
“Though you are correct in that we would all be stronger as a group, it seems the group doesn’t even consider itself one. None even listened to their nominated leader before disappearing into the shadows. I’ll not be one to chase after such short sighted fools to beg them to let us follow.”Leto replies, looking around the room ((What was the dragon’s response to him? Normal like to all the others?)) “Dragons a immensely powerful creatures...” Looking to Venomfang he adds (half honestly as praise) “and quite majestic. Our goal is information, and influence to set us up in this world if we are unable to return home. Let us see what else we can learn. We will no doubt run in with that lot again after the next mental ping.”
“I appreciate your candor and I do value your views, Leto,” Mylene says, talking herself into the idea. “Yes, this is perfectly reasonable. We continue to work with these new allies on discovering what we can, no doubt we will reunite with the other Erased when we feel another psychic pull, and we build from there. Most of them are still welcome to join us if they choose to do so, but I am afraid some either have no temperament for organization or they’ve fallen in with a particular cult of personality that offers than no guidance to help them, but would have them turn into agents of regime change in realms they barely understand.
“ You’re right, we cannot know if we have a world to return to or any hope of getting there, we just prepare for life here, if that is the option that remains for us.”
Having rationalized, with Leto’s help, why it is not her responsibility to chase down the other Erased, she segues to, “So now it’s just a matter of what to do with what we have and where to go next. While an elder dragon may know more, they may also be more recalcitrant to divulge information without something in return. The same could be said of a great sage, of course. We do have forces now, a base of operations and some operating capital. I think we have two choices to make - One, do we seek a dragon or a sage, and two, do we go as hastily as possible, making use of magical flight and dragon speed, or more slowly but as a United force, in case we face resistance? Dragon or sage, and, speed or full forces?”
Mylene walks while she talks, surveying the tower grounds and letting coins fall through her fingers. “The scrolls should be of some use,” she adds as a minor after thought to the more pressing planning.
OOC: Taking at least the remainder of the day to take stock of their funding, supplies and manpower is likely in order regardless of what destination they select, along with plans on how to secure the tower if they are leaving some portion of their forces behind and choosing to travel speedily by air in smaller groups, or what is worth taking with them if they plan to abandon the tower and leave en masse.
You would know that Venomfang can only carry one person. She is large-sized.
Leto.
The dragon's reaction to you was the same as the others, since Mylene had already spoken to it before you approached. It had no attention for anyone but her at that point.
The afternoon and evening pass, and it is soon nightfall. In your tower HQ you will have an uneventful night, with the hobgoblins taking turns on guard duty for the night.
In the morning the first thing you both notice is that the pull is back. Your next item appears to be West, a goodly distance in that direction.
The second thing you notice is a shadowy figure in the darkest section of the tower...
"What is this?" Venomfang asks, sensing the creature in its domain and unhappy about it. The hobgoblins and cultists have weapons in hand as they become aware of the creature, but Leto seems unconcerned.
((Just as a brief update, the various home repairs are ongoing which has been extremely hectic, took time away from work and now I am playing catch up on work things while the home remains a construction zone. Still not sure on my ETA of when I'll have time to return to regular posting, but the game is not forgotten, just extremely busy and stressed at the moment. Again, apologies. I don't want to slow progress of the game for everyone involved, so feel free to do whatever is needed for the story - bot my character, create a scenario where they are pulled away temporarily, whatever you feel is best to progress the game. I am hopeful all this will pass and things will return to normal.))
As the main group moves to the top of the abby stairs, the burned-out remains of the place all around, you find it silent and seemingly vacant. Moving down the stairs carefully, you come into a large common-room area. Sitting there, drinking wine and talking, are Mylene and Leto.
The pull is strong now and you see a pile of items laying on the floor near-at-hand. Your item is in that pile.

Honor
Honor is going to look around for any sign of anyone (beast or man) here with Mylene and Leto. Perception: 23 (passive: 19) "Where's your friend?" she asks.
Leto sets his glass down, smiling at the group, as the raven that had been clearly watching all the others climb the mountain flies in, swooping past the others, and lands on the table next to him. Tossing it a small piece of cracker he looks to Naivara and replies “Not all of us think like you... No these items aren’t to be held hostage, as if we two alone could do so against your troops there. Come collect your things. We’ve done the dirty work for you.”
”Mylene has been clear about this from the start, we should work together for the common good of the Dragonlords... er... Erased. Sorry, I’m slipping into old habits already.” Leto says. “Prepare yourselves. Once you take this item you’ll be flooded with everything of your pasts, as well as much about each other.”Pointing to some in the group he adds “Pirate. Mercenary. Hidden Drow. Orphan who just wants a friend... But knowing our pasts does not yet explain how we came to this world from ours. Ah... how I miss the Coast. Amazing wines and entertainments.” Sighing he continues “Sorry, you too will certainly feel some nostalgia soon. As for this ‘friend’? I assume you mean the dragon of Mylene’s? She is near; and I expect each of the rest of us to acquire one, or more, of our own in the short future.”
Reaching towards the wine Leto magically chills it in his hand and holds the bottle out saying “Come. Sit. Join us for a drink and let us discuss this world, which will no doubt soon be under our collective influences; you have all already started amassing your beloved followers after all. Now we have only to learn how it is we’ve come to this place... Who did we piss off enough, and who would dare, to affect us so?”
Kierro breathes a quick sigh of relief. "I'd assume that how we got here would come with the next set of items we find. Hopefully that's an endeavor we can indeed join together for."
Moving toward the item that draws him, Kierro reaches for it. "I miss the coast too, to be honest."
