Rose, seeing the man on the ground and not sure he if he was dead or simply gravely wounded, moves to his side while keeping a wary eye on the construct. As long as it seemed to be fleeing, she thought, then tending the wounded and getting them to safety seemed more pressing. Moving beside the fallen guard Rose kneels down to check for signs of life. If there's any doubt to whether or not the guard is alive she'll give him a quick dose of healing.

To Fallan: Just keep an eye on it for now, I'll get the wounded to safety, if it attacks anyone else try to stop it.
Bulwark will continue his dash out of the darkness and away from the village. He will not stop at 30ft this time instead rushing out to 60ft away from the village. He does not even look back, just running.
Bulwark is going to use his full action to dash away.
Fallan continues to stealthily move around to the left, but doesn't advance much beyond being parallel to Rose as she tends to the downed guard. Keeping an eye on the fleeing metal beast, she confirms to Rose her instructions. [T] "I'm not going anywhere. I'll keep watch and not start any fights. Good luck with the guard"
Fallan, unseen by her target, slips into a stealth that even out in the open would be hard to see without knowing that Fallan had been there to begin with, two vibrating blades appearing in her hands as she begins to move towards the edge of the cube of darkness, not wishing to actually enter it (I assume) making it almost to the other side while keepign her pace slow enough to not be seen or heard.
Meanwhile, Rose enters the cube of darkness, where the guard was also engulfed. Her vision unable to pierce it but having the luxury of being outside it when cast, allowing her an easier time so long as once she entered she went entirely straight. Eventually her foot bumping the man. Her fingers caressing his body like a blind woman, finding some vital areas, it seemed the man had been slightly seared, aside from the other damage he took. His heart didn't beat, but it didn't seem the man had taken so much damage as to be beyond saving, and given the time since his 'fall' ...Rose risked a spell. Healing energies poured into the lifeless body, and it seemed, by sheer luck that his spirit had yet to wander or be claimed and though he remained unconscious, the faintest wheeze of air rushing into his lungs could be heard.
Metal-on-dirt clanking can be heard as the heavy body begins to enter a full on charge... retreat.... swift movement away from the town. Without even looking back. It seemed that Bulwark may have to give up on seeking the answers he came to Everlund for, atleast for a time... heading deeper into the woods, for now. As that seemed the best place to loose potential pursuers, rather than be on the road, as obvious as a sore thumb. As Bulwark flees, birds, and other animals scatter from the loud thing charging though their homes.
Multiple guards are at the ready, having only needed grab their weapons and leave their lunches to cool and spoil. The wounded soldier walking past houses where panicked citizens near the front gate hid, leering out their windows, though the rest of the town was more or less ignorant aside from the spectacle. The one who had called for reinforcements huffed against the wall, trying to regain his breath, as he had never ran so fast in his unhealthy life. Meanwhile six guards are dashing to the front gate, where they see an impassible-by0vision black cube, blocking most of the view outside. Unaware that two hobits were in the area.
Combat is potentially over based on player actions.
Rose would dispell the darkness around her, as at this point it hindered more that helped. Once she could see she patted the guard on the shoulder. You're okay, come on get up. Then seeing the approaching guards Rose waves and points to her holy symbol. The threat as passed! Help me get your wounded up! Looking around and seeing the construct running away Rose calls for Fallan to return, not wanting her to get too far away on her own.
The octagonal darkness disappears, revealing to the guards who are fast approaching, weapons still drawn see the young man on the ground, breathing if only faintly, his eye opening at Rose's command but he lay there, still, breathing in stuttered gasps. Mm please.... let me lie here.... for a few more.... moments.... he managed, Rose realizing that his breath had likely been stolen in the moments he had been 'passed.' As the guards surround the area, seeing that the young man was speaking to the halfling, they took the cue that she wasn't an enemy but didn't relax their guard. They began scanning the immediate area for threats, though none were forthcoming. What happened to ... whatever did this. We weren't here when it happened. The boy, Eugine told us some monstrosity was attacking, yet all we see are you. Fallan being too well hidden for them to notice, without her revealing herself. Either way, we thank ye for helping him. The mans face shaded ever so slightly, likely anticipating stinging remarks from the young man later, along the lines of 'its easy money, you said, no one ever attacks, you said' and the like, but all of the guards seemed relieved the boy was alive.
Still running, not wanting to risk anything, as he hadn't intended to harm anyone to begin with, he was only seeking answers, Bulwark finds himself surrounded by tree's, and he wasn't fully sure what direction he'd ended up running. Tree's stood tall and imposing in every direction, and there were no distinct landmarks andhe hadn't taken the time to think about 'lichen and moss', aside from the mountains in the distance, only visible in sparse gaps in the tree's. This was likely wild land, off the trail, though also not likely very far. The area around him was silent, if only due to the fact that running with his metal body was like crashing through a pig pen while slamming a spatula against a pan, startling most of the animals that would likely be nearby.
Regardless, standing still would get him nowhere, and so for now, Bulwark pressed on at a pace.
Bell, frustrated that she was so close, and yet so far, her tune ruined by the occasional sharp and unintended whistle, or low note hindering what would otherwise be an 'ok' performance, hand't been paying attention, and she had wandered off the trail as a game trail had been wide enough to atleast, for the moment, trick her into thinking it was a man made path until it had narrowed. Tree's surrounding her, and the path lost behind her by the time she realized that it was no more.
a heavy, metallic sound, echoed nearby, starting faint but getting closer. A rythmic pattern, with a shallow gap of silence, sounded like someone was dulling the noise of a shield that they were hitting on the ground.
Bulwark will pause after a while and find a place where he can settle in to take time to decide what to do next and make sure that the attack had not done any damage to the more important parts of his body. He will find a shaded area that looks hidden enough, not taking much time to really put time into true camouflage.
Bulwark is going to try and hunker down, using stealth to stay out of view if he can.
Fallan waits a bit longer, as it seemed like any threats of violence had passed, but she and Rose were certainly outnumbered if the guards mistook the situation. Once she realized that Rose was talking calmly with those now emerging from the town, Fallan drops the blades and smiles as they dissipate into nothingness. She takes a moment and thinks to herself about how they would make proving anything about their use almost impossible. Finally refocusing on the situation at hand, she calmly walks back to where Rose is and says: "Everything ok, now, Rose? It seems you were able to help this person. Any idea what caused this fracas?"
Bell groans, realizing she'd been deceived by a game trail, and then her ears flick at the sound... she quiets herself and listens for a moment, then attempts to follow the noise after it stops. She goes quietly.

In a great irony, Bells distraction was so great that even with little care for remaining quiet or hidden, Bulwark manages to by some luck of the gob's avoid being seen entirely, and just quiet enough that Bell can't quite pinpoint an exact location. Deciding that her own ability to remain hidden from this 'elusive beast' and master of stealth by any other name she should probably try to even the odds. Bell ducks down, and her races legs make staying squat yet mobile coming in handy.
Bulwark had just settled in, unaware that he was being stalked by a new target, but felt confident that he had bought himself some time. Somewhat carelessly pulling leaves and other plants around the edges to hide the most extenuating of his parts.
Bell had been moving for several long moments, heading in the general direction of the noise though she had been angling poorly, when her senses screamed at her, when out of the corner of her suddenly perfect perception, she saw a metallic leg being tucked into a nearby bush. Unknown to the metallic thing.
Rose nods to the guards and gestures vaguely towards the woods. Yeah it was some sort of golem I think. Maybe a wizards creation gotten loose. It ran off it seems though I'm not sure chasing it is a good idea just yet. It may be more powerful than it we realize. My name is Rose, my kinfolk here is Fallan. I'm a cleric of Selûne, from the Silverymoon cloister. It seems it doesn't matter where I am though, everywhere seems to be trouble. At least your friend here will live it seems. She gives the boy a hard pat on the shoulder.
I'm sorry to spring this on you good folk so suddenly but have you any news from Silverymoon? I had just returned from the Coast and found my city seemed to have gone mad. Has anyone heard of this or know what's been going on there?
Fallan stands a little straighter and puffs out her chest with pride when Rose calls her 'kinfolk'. With a smile on her face, she says nothing to the guards, but 'thinks' to Rose: [T] "And you might want to ask them about who we are supposed to bringing this delivery to, and if they know where we can find them."Waiting to hear the guards' responses, she smiles even bigger and rocks back and forth from her heels to her toes with her thumbs locked into the lapels of her jacket.
"Is that someone's leg?" Bell whispers to herself, interested. "Could this be a new friend? Or perhaps a foe! Either way..." [whispered]. Bell creeps closer to get a look.
Bulwark readies himself to rest for now, deciding that he would need to check on the tip he had gotten about Everlund in a different way. With little else to do to pass the time he enters a standby phase so that his body can repair any damage he had taken. To anyone that would come across him, he would seemingly appear non functional bit in reality would be totally aware of his surroundings.
Bulwark is essentially going to do a short rest but in my mind it looks like he is just kind of sitting motionless but not as much as he would for a long rest.
To Rose, most of the guards seem to lower their guard, though at mention of her name, he brightens considerably. Moments before he had seemed worried for the boy, and after a glance or two at the man, then the boy, bot had similar hair, and facial structures... likely a father and a son. Though the man seems familiar - however before Rose can ponder on this, he presses forward just as Rose gives the boy a pat.
Rose! Has been far too long. I doubt you recognize us after so many years, but this is my son Toby, My name is Ash. You healed my sons wounds when he had taken a tumble from the wall when you and Nana were here on your trials! He was barely a head taller than you then! I am glad to see you are well, and that once again you saved my boy from his own foolishness. the man let out a sigh, looking at the boy who had nearly died in that moment, and despite his demeanor, the tremors of worry still coursed through him from moments before. But he manages to force himself up, offering his boy a hand up, the boy himself looking confused at the whole situation, not recognizing Rose at all - and clearly trying to play it off as if he did without speaking, though his Injuries may also account for some of it.
We haven't had much contact since the roads began to become a hunting ground. For some reason Alustriel chose to ignore it, so we've been watching out for ourselves in the meantime. Aside from a merchant passing through, selling some rather unusual, but useless wares, we haven't had any real contact outside our walls for weeks. Roses mind flashes back to the man who had died at a stall, selling stuff with no real use. It also wasn't until then that the guards took notice of the Halfling who had come out of nowhere, their eyes and focus on the forest outside, and the boy on the ground, giving Fallan the unseen entrance she likely desired initially. But as the halfling seemed to have nothign to say, they acknowledged her existence, and there was appreciation in their expressions, the man cut in before much else could be done - but they seemed to Accept that Rose and Fallan were kinfolk of 'some sort' - the man butted back in And how do you mean 'mad'? what's been happening? Another experiment from 'Mystra's chosen'?
Another guard, one Rose didn't recognize piped in then, interrupting Apologies, but we have another man injured, almost as badly as the boy. Can you spare some of your healing for him as well? I fear he's losing blood...And may soon lose more than that if not aided. A few of the guards, as if remembering that very fact began to rush back to check on the boy. Ash seemed to come to a realization as well Ashby... Shit, I was so relieved to see that Toby was allright I somehow forgot.. Please, Rose can you aid my other foolish boy before he falls as well?
Bell more or less see's what Drizzt just described. For now you may both proceed on your own 'discoveries'
Fallan's head swivels back and forth as the guards keep changing their focus from Rose to this new Ash/Toby pair to inside the town. She chuckles, but stays fairly quiet and shrugs at Rose. [T] "You seem to be the 'medic of the moment', and we need to get into town to complete the fishermen's delivery. I'll follow quietly. For now, it may be to our (or at least my) advantage if they don't know I can talk. We'll see. Oh, and this may be stupid, but should we know who Alustriel is?" With that, she gives a mock bow to Rose and with a sweep of her hand, indicates that Rose should precede her through the gate.
Rose nods to Fallan but plays it off as nodding to Ash. Of course, I have many questions and I'm sure you do too, but let me see this other boy of yours. We'll get him fixed up and ourselves inside the wall before something else attacks. We can talk more then. Rose follows Ash to the other injured party and places a hand on his wound before summoning the healing glow of Selûne to close the wound (won't roll since ill just heal until he seems at full hp).
Once the boy is healed she'll gladly follow ash somewhere inside to let him ask his questions and to perhaps get some food for herself and Fallan.
Bulwark continues to stay in his motionless state, making sure to shift the armor that covered his body kept his pseudo phalactery protected. While his arm had been hit by the spear it would not take much for him to repair later on. He will react to the sound of someone around, slowly readying himself to move.
