Rose considers.for a moment as she observes the mud creatures then turns to Fallan. I think you may be right. Last thing we need right now is to engage in a fight anyway. I'm not sure they are hostile but well I don't quite like the look of them. If you want to lead the way I'll do my best to tread lightly.

Fallan shrugs her shoulders at the idea of being chosen to lead, but then does her best to sneak past the mud bugs, leading Rose from shadow to shadow and trying to keep the path in sight, but trees always between the pair of hobbits and the 8 buzzing mud puddles. She waves Rose forward and silently makes several hand signals to direct her friend, but realizes that they have never discussed codes or instructions. SIlently smacking the palm of her hand against her forehead, she scrunches up her forehead and pushes her thoughts toward Rose. "[T] "Okay, I have never done this in a group. Just try to step where I do, but be ready in case we are spotted."
Bell doesn't feel much one way or the other about the offer or the group. They seem elated (the ones she can see the most) if bored, as if they didn't much like sitting around too much. But their mood was overall positive and that was about all Bell could really sense. Despite her clearly defensive posture, they don't seem to shift - whether it be because they didn't perceive her as a threat or simply didn't care, or something else was hard to tell. One of them going back to eating while the other yawned and said Hmm unless you consider healing a fish hook wound worth your energy, or clearing a rash from Tanya's ass he said, smirking in the womans direction (she was busy gutting a fish some distance away, though her posture showed clear discomfort in the same way one does when trying to keep a rash from 'getting worse.'
Bah, we don't need anything. The service your friend offered is payment enough. After-all craftsmen who fail to deliver aren't craftsmen for long, just like a letterman failing to deliver a letter isn't a letterman for long. This delivery was highly important to our master, so consider the fish a boon of the sea-... well Lake I suppose. A few fish still on their sticks were there. They steamed though there was no fire but looked no different from the ones they were feasting on.
Rose follows Fallans lead, and despite her clumsy as hell steps she manages (if only by dint of the fact that her and Fallan are effectively were the same height and gait) her steps are far more silent than she's used to being in such situations. As the pair travel they hear the mud-covered things grumbling in some unintelligible language to both of the pair but it sounded a lot like annoyed complaints of some kind. The creatures continued flitting randomly, seemingly aimlessly.
The two halflings had to pause several times as one or two got a bit too close for comfort before moving off and away. Eventually the pair make it beyond the earshot and eyesight of the creatures when they could finally return to the path and on their way. It was long beyond the height of the day when the town of Everlund came into view from a distance if only due to the wooden outer walls.
"Whew! Not a bad job there, Rose. I wasn't sure we would make it past those things. You must have a bit of 'sneaky blood' in you after all - even when the moon isn't out!" Fallan then stops and looks toward the wooden walls ahead of them. She seems to be hesitant and uncertain as she adds: "You know, the LAST time we had to work our way inside a city, things didn't really go well. Is there any way we can be sure that isn't going to happen again? Can you actually think of any REAL reason those fisherpeople wouldn't go into the city for this delivery? What do they know that we don't? Here's hoping that Selune is looking out for us from here... Lead on."
The town itself was still some distance away, as the pair continued on - Fallan starting to speak as the pair neared the Gate area. The term 'gate' is loose, as the walls weren't fully surrounding the town but rather forming a sort of funnel to specific areas that were under guard to some degree or another and weren't visible from here. The forest itself had closed in on the path itself a few hours back. The sun was still visible but the tree's provided at-least stuttering, frequent shade. The trail itself starting to incline down slightly. A slight alarum was heard ahead, where the gate was, though a small patch of tree's blocked direct view of the exact goings-on. But whatever it was seemed to have spooked whoever was on guard duty.
Bulwarks perspective
The two guards had their swords drawn as they looked upon Bulwarks body.. framework.. whatever 'it was.' As far as they were concerned, some crazed thing was about to attack the town and unfortunately (for them) it was their job to prevent such things from happening. The guards themselves were young, likely unseasoned, and wearing generic garb from the towns stockades, and both bore a sword and board combination. A third one younger than the other two was just behind the gate itself, seeming to wait for one of them to tell him what to do.
One of the men, just barely sprouting his first chin hairs says Quickly! Alert the others that we have a crazy ... golem thing attacking the front gates! he then nodded to the other man, who had a full beard, though scraggly nodded in return and the pair moved angular to each side of the 'monstrosity' in front of them.
The 'man' behind the gate running into the town, shouting We are under attack! A golem comes! Quickly, seek shelter! as the boy dashed away, likely to seek other guardsmen.
The lesser-haired one lashed out with his sword at Bulwarks body, but despite their best efforts, their attacks fail to do more than lightly scratch the surface of his frame.
Bulwark is up. One guard ran to warn others. The other two are putting on brave faces and have made a single attack each. Both Missed. Bulwark can get a melee DAO against (1) of them.
Rose and Fallan are within earshot of the commotion. And may take their turns after the guards next turn is over. However, Rose and Fallan may make a single 'conversational' post at any time.
Bell may post whenever as she's not related to this Combat
Bulwark gives the closest equivalent of an exasperated sigh a warforged can, watching as the two attacks either missed him entirely or bounced off his metallic frame. Not wanting to get into a fight but knowing he needs to defend himself he raises his hand and a gem embedded into it starts to glow. It sparks and goes for the guard that is trying to move away.
Opportunity Attack

Rose laughs and says Thanks Fallan, though truth is I doubt I'd ever have been able to sneak past without you. This armor is so noisy, though I've mostly tuned it out it really doesn't help in these situations. I do share your worries however. The strong bond between Silverymoon and Everlund is well known in the Marches and well known to our enemies. If someone did intentionally do something to Silverymoon the Everlund could also be a target. Unfortunately we have little choice, walking to Waterdeep for help would take far too lo-wait do you hear that? Rose draws her hammer when she hears the commotion. Nothing can ever be simple can it? Rose laments with a sigh.
Bell relaxes her posture and takes a seat ( or stance) at wherever the fish is offered. She eats, finally getting some real substance in her system, and washes it down with some water, only slightly regretting that she hadn't had the alchemist's jug generate honey for the day. "Thank you so much! And I'll pass along to my friends your continued appreciation for their help."

"Simple? Nope. Even a 'nothing' checking out of a traveler's room can become... .ah nevermind that." Fallan says to Rose in an almost distant, tone as if she wasn't thinking about the here and now. Shaking her head, as if to clear her thoughts, she answered Rose: "Yes, I hear it. Do we avoid it, or go check it out? If Everlund is also cursed like SIlverymoon, there's no telling what the guards may be up to... or what the town could make us do! Whaddaya think?"
Weapon crit roll not plausable due to action already taken.
The fisherpeople with roguish attire nod as they begin to munch down on their own fish, seeming almost as peckish as Bell, not that she would know that they gave most of their fish over to a pair of black holes known as Halflings only a chunk of hours prior. Bell joins them to eat, and regain her strength, still diminished from before.
Bulwark hit the guard with his electrical weapon, dealing moderate damage (+3 from metal electric conductivity on metal) and despite the pain, as he was near the limits of his ability to live after the shock....Thinking this was his chance, the man struck out while Bul's weapon was till in action, trying to stab upwards into the metallic arm, for a moment, the guard thinks to grapple the monster but after seeing parts of the body moving in and out of itself he feared he'd lose a finger in the effort.. it was only then that he'd notice that while he had managed to score (the non-crit) damage against the creature, Bulwarks other attack, despite his intention being to scare them off, or make them lose the will to fight, the other guard lie now in a heap on the ground, dead from the hit itself.
The young guards eyes go wide at the realization, and feeling his own life on the edge, blood metaphorically swimming in his vision, he drops his sword and half runs, half stumbles away, hoping he could get away from this murderous thing.
One guard has died, the other only having a single HP left and is now fleeing, unarmed. Rose and Fallan are up. What they will see at the end of their normal movement speed is a warforged standing over the corpse of a young town guard, and another just barely escaping into the town (Assuming he DOESN'T AO)
"Oh, come ON!"Fallan exhales to Rose. "Really? Metal monsters now? How do we fight against something like that? Especially something that dropped one guard and sent the others fleeing within seconds of moving at them?" She shakes her head again, once more hoping to clear her head from thoughts she didn't really want to entertain. But still seeing the construct before her, she looks to Rose and prepares to move forward if that's the plan.
Rose looks at the scene before her, slightly relieved that it wasn't the madness affecting Silverymoon causing the problem or at least so it seemed. However she wasn't sure why a golem, if thats even what it was, would be here. Maybe it's some makes construct that got loose. It wouldn't be the first time...alright Fallan try to get on its left side, I'll try to confuse it so we can move closer.
Rose put stretches a hand and closes her fist, summoning a globe of darkness to surround the metal man before running towards its right side but keeping a safe distance out of the darkness. To the guards she shouts I don't think arrows will do much! Just let us handle it and bar the gates!
Suddenly, from nowhere, Bulwark finds himself surrounded by impenetrable darkness, followed by hearing the voice of a female (That sounded decidedly halfling) shouting orders to guards that may or may not be there as far as Bulwark could tell (Barring special senses, and so forth).
Bulwark is up, he is currently blind -again, barring special senses if he has them-
Bulwark will back move to find the guard he saw fall before the, failing this as he is unable to use his sense of direction. With little else to do he will attempt to escape the area of darkness
Bulwark will use his full 30ft of movement to try and get out of the darkness.. Regardless of whether he can or not he will use his action to prepare himself to Dodge any incoming attacks. Dodge
For one reason or another, Bells whistling is hindered. Her lips keep getting stuck to eachother in various places just long enough to ruin the sound, or spittle issues. While not bad, the whistling itself is hindered by many extremely minor issues. (Bell is still atleast a solid 9ish hours away from the others, and an encounter roll be will rolled at 4.5) Despite all this, the road seems calm, apparently the drow causing issues was still likely considered an issue to most places, limiting travel of all but the brave, the foolhardy, or the ignorant. The tree's around bell slowly, but surely were closing back in around the road, as the distance from the path to them went progressively from around one hundred feet, down to sixty by this point. The general sounds of nature could be heard all around, which likely meant there were no threats in the 'immediate' area, at the very least.
Bulwark, suddenly blind and unsure of what exactly is going on, he manages to find the body, and then, piecing together what he remembered of the fight he had just been in, used that to run East, away from the gate, but unbeknownst to him, also technically away from Fallan and Rose. His body ready to avoid any incoming attacks that may come his way.
The dark blot that suddenly appeared caused some panic on the other side of the wall, as they had heard fighting, only to see this pitch dark, 'thing' partially envelop the nearby wall. However, Rose shouts and atleast some of the citizens, who had, until that moment, been hiding behind whatever was available, calm as they heard a voice that didn't seem to be threatening them.
The untouched guard continued dashing, making it to the barracks, as the town itself wasn't nearly as large as Silverymoon, pounding on the door, shouting We are under attack from some metallic monstrosity! Gather your weapons! He's at the main entrance! the man didn't know that his brother had fallen.
The last remaining guard near the combat continued to hobble his way, away from the fight, though he did note both the sudden darkness filling him with fear it was Drow, or perhaps some machination of the golem, until he heard Rose's voice.
Rose/Fallan are up, the untouched guard has reached reinforcements. The wounded guard is 45 feet away within the town.
To give some visual reference, I am imagining the city gate facing 'south by south east, angling slightly \
Rose and Fallan are almost directly to the west of Bulwark and the darkness sphere.
Bulwark is moving along where the city walls are heading east, and slowly climbing 'down' (as in the walls arebuilt progressively lower the farther from the entrance)
I believe Rose can see through it, but Fallan cannot. The darkness is between F/R and B.

Fallan acquiesces to Rose's directions. She is not, however, inclined to shout out to either the possibly cursed town, nor the metal monster and give away her position. Instead, she moves as quickly and quietly to the left side (SW?) of the last place she saw the metal construct. As long as she can see Rose, and isn't more than 30' away, she reaches out to her telepathically... [T] "Ok, so I'm moving quietly to the left. I have no idea what happens then, but I'll take my cue from you. If you attack, I'll support it. My psychic blades might damage it more than physical weapons might." With that, she calls forth two psychic daggers and treads stealthily to her assigned position.
