Arvidsjaur and Aliira enter the kitchen. Arvidsjaur notices pale, muddy footprints trekking through the kitchen in a frantic way until they enter a wooden door at the opposite side of the kitchen.
"The others will be fine," says Aliira, "I'm worried someone caught Mara snooping around the lower decks. What's down there that's so special What's so special about this shipment to the Isle, anyway?"
As Aliira opens to door, Arvidsjaur hears a faint scratching coming from the lower decks. She holds Arvidsjaur's hand.
"Alright let's go."
[It's nearly 11:30. Also, everyone else feel free to continue playing as your characters while this is going on.]
[Ok so we have one bard and npc below decks and every one else is sitting with the children right.] Haven paces back and forth nervously in the cabin."theres something not right here. Maybe more of its should be looking for mara."
Scottie will look over as Isuzu a look of concern in his eyes. "He has been gone for nearly forty minutes. I'm going to go after him. If I don't come back Isuzu, Haven take care of Braithe and the children." Scottie will than use Firbolg magic to cast Disguise Self to appear a little over a foot shorter (something that Firbolg can do with Disguise Self) and as a generic Tiefling. Scottie will then leave searching for Arvid and Mara in Tiefling form.
"No need to yell." Haven finches at iszuzus tone. "I feel better now that Scottie has gone as well. I'm more than happy to help with the royal family here" as if to prove himself Haven begins checking on braithe
Haven looks up with sympathy in his eyes "oh.... You get grumpy when your worried" Haven considers for a time and adds. "Maybe we could draw some tiefling attention up here and make it easier for them"
While Isuzu and Haven keep an eye on Braithe and the children, Scottie heads after Arvidsjaur. He reaches the kitchen by 11:45AM. By this time, Arvidsjaur and Aliira made there way to the lower decks. The lower decks are a single large room the length of the ship. It's hard to see too far in front of them, but there seems to be some sort of makeshift tunnel. They can see Mara lying face-down in the darkness.

"You know I'm starting to get the feeling that our stay on this ship is nearly over." Haven walks over to the door of the cabin. "I'm going to check out the life boats" perception check to see how quickly the life boats could be made ready d20+2= 6
Haven checks for the life boats and only finds one. It is not in great shape, but it might be enough to make a getaway if things go south.
Scottie makes it to the bottom of the stairs to the lower decks only seconds after Arvidsjaur and Aliira discover Mara face down on the floor in the darkness.
As Arvidsjaur moves in to inspect Mara, he notices that the entire lower half of her body has been ripped off. Her dead, yellowish eyes stare up at him; then a giant spider emerges from the shadows, clicking at hissing at the group.

"Why is there a giant spider on the ship?"
Using the Firbolg Trait Speech of Beast and Leaf Scottie will try to calm the spider down.
"We're just here looking for a friend. And she is right here. Can we take her with us?"
(I don't know if I should use Animal Handling or Persuasion since I can speak to the spider so I will do both. Also, Speech of Beast gives me advantage on Charisma check with the spider)
Scottie manages to clam the spider enough that it backs away, but it is still irritated. The is a knife stabbed into its side with a red sheet of paper with a note on it; but you cannot read it from this distance.
Meanwhile, back in the Captain's Quarters, there is shouting from outside.
"Pelious, have you been drinking on the job again? Get up! You've got a dinner to start preparing! Didn't you also promise entertainment, too?!"
There are three loud knocks on the door. "Bard, it's Pelious, are you in there? I need to make sure you're ready to perform tonight. My neck is really on the line with this."

Scottie will continue to search for Arvid. Avoiding/ignoring other Tiefling he encounters simply saying "I'm looking for Aliira." If he is stopped.

[F.a.i.l. lol]
"Who are you?" asks Aliira, tension in her voice.
Somewhat trusting Aliira Scottie replies "It's me, Scottie. We woke up to find Mara missing. I'm looking for her in disguise."
"Scottie," Aliira's eyes widen, "what are you doing down here? If they find out you..."
Arvidsjaur hears a clicking sound.
As Arvidsjaur moves in to inspect Mara, he notices that the entire lower half of her body has been ripped off. Her dead, yellowish eyes stare up at him; then a giant spider emerges from the shadows, clicking at hissing at the group.

Animal Handling: 1d20+5 = 18
Persuasion with Advantage: 1d20-1 = 18
[Organic giant spider]
