"I do believe that grim thought should inspire us to play the best show of our lives!" Haven plays a few stiring notes to inspire his partner [not a bad idea this bardic inspiration]
Time rolls forward, Arvid and Haven are ushered to a podium in the rear corner of the dining hall. At least thirty hungry tieflings are waiting to be entertained while they wait for their meals.
Aliira has even set up a special guest table for the passengers as a one-off gesture for the final night of the voyage (should you choose to go).
Performance 18 investigation19 Haven tries to get the gets to chat about thier plans once reaching the isle, in between songs of heroics and conquering. "Surely your emperor doesnt plan to let this land slip away and you all have a party to play in his grand designs to reclaim this treacherous isle." [will use bardic inspiration on performance roll] 1
Scottie will only go to the special dinner if Braithe or any of the kids want to attend. If they do not attend than Scottie will eat his last supper on the boat with Braithe and the kids.
"Reclaim," the largest of the tielfings scoffs at Haven. "Why would we overthrow those human chumps in the citadel just to crawl back to that afwul Isle."
He goes on to explain to Arvidsjaur. "We just need to send a message to Hogstout: that little weasel that thought he could fill Emperor Leucis' shoes. We've got a little parcel for him to ensure that he coughs up for his taxes like a good little boy."
Fortuantely, Braithe is on the other side of the dining hall, unable to hear the tieflings mouthing off about his beloved family; he might've snapped over the chump comment, blowing his cover. He is seated on a small table in the darkest corner with Aliira and Scottie.
Isuzu, having sufficiently terrified the children with her tales of tiefling stew pots, was left to look after the children, although they are skiddish around tieflings at the best of times; even Aliira. The two lay huddled up in Braithe's bed.
"Suzie," asks Prince Marius, "I don't suppose we could trouble you for a story, and not one with tieflings in it?"
[I've included a rudimentary map to visualise the upper decks of the ship (the newer areas, anyway) https://ibb.co/fercDk]
Before Aliira can answer, Pelious (the real one) sidles up beside her and takes her hand.
"I'm not interrupting am I?"
"Of course not," Aliira smiles at Arvidsjaur, "don't even worry about it."
She and Pelious share a kiss. "Oh, by the way, this is Pelious. We, uh, have been seeing each other for most of the voyage."
"Go on, tell them," Pelious nudged Aliira.
"I'm going to leave with Pelious on the Antigone. I mean, my uncle will kill me if I go back to Midgard. The Ishbralians won't want to hear from any tiefling after these guys unleash that spider on him. This ship might be my only chance for a normal life."
"I was expecting you to leave us, soon. I hope you well with Pelious. Before we depart do you have contacts or anything on the Isle we could use? We need to find a safe place for Braithe and the children."
"If I suggest a betrayal of the emperor's orders and just one of these tieflings is a loyalist or a spy, then I'll be hung naked from this ship as a message to the crew. I understand what you want, but I cannot help you."

[Love the Haven/Arvid friendship forming here!]

"You want to kill the crew with that spider. These are my friends," Pelious stands from his seat. "These people are just following orders."
[Remember: this is just a character reaction. If you guys all want to go ahead with this plan, feel free. ]

Prince Marius and Princess Caitlin lay wide awake in Braithe's bed, the skiddish children have blankets bunched around their eyes.
"I just heard something." Princess Caitlin jumped."
"I can hear it too," said Marius. "The hags are crawling up the sides of the ship."
"Spiders as presents" Haven chuckles at the idea "perhaps someone who dealt with the present and showed proof of it to the intended May earn a favor?"
