"Lord Braithe...Prince and Princess..." Niall blinks, surprised to see them still alive, and in the company of a Tiefling, no less. He bows deeply to the old man and the children. "How did you escape? How does the city fare?"

"The city is not in the best shape. Everything has changed the citadel has been desecrated with my late brothers naked corpse," at this, the children become visibly distraught. "The tieflings have turned the schools into child labour camps and the prayer houses into brothels. We must keep these children safe until they can return to the Isle. Anyway, let's get to bed. We have a big day tomorrow."
[TAKE A LONG REST]
You wake up late the following morning to hear music coming from outside. Already the festival has begun, welcoming you to the Isle of Ishbrae. People have set up elaborate lantern displays. People wander the stalls, purchasing food and masks, while the tabaxi, the Thri-kreen and the Jackanapes all watch from the alleys in the distant like stubborn children. Aliira wakes up with the smile.
"I forgot how beautiful Ishbraelian ceremonies were."
Princess Caitlin and Princes Marius gaze excitedly out the window. "Can we go down there?" they both chime in unison.
"Let's just take a moment, children," says Braithe, "what if somebody recognises you down there?"
"I'll just tell them they are mistaken," says Princes Marius, "I shall tell them that my name is Mordai, and I am the adoptive son of a tiefling."
Princess Caitlin smiled. "And I am certain Lerissa is very keen to go down and see the festival. It is for us after all. If we don't attend, it could be seen as rude."
Niall apprehensively throws on his ragged cloak, checking his weapons. Crowds made him nervous, and the idea of protecting naive young royalty in a crowded celebration makes him downright tense. He quietly heads down the stairs as the rest of the party prepares, leaving the inn through a side door and seeking to blend with the crowd and identify possible threats.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Scottie will take the kids to the festival and let them ride on his shoulders if they so wish. Throughout the festival, though he is keeping an eye out for any dangers. Unsure, of what threats plague this new land and who could be after the children.
There is a stall offering formal attire. Formal robes cost 3 pieces of gold. All of the adventurers are getting looks, especially the children; though this is more of curiosity than malice.
Erik, not being previously affiliated with the crew before, seems to blend in with the crowd more from the others. He glances at an old vase being sold at a stall as he can see a bunch of Jackanapes staring at the other adventurers. They are saying nothing; just staring at them, watching their every move. Erik spies on the Jackanapes for hours, and they do nothing; just watching the adventurers take the children around the festival.
"He's certainly an interesting character. He and his wife and child don't go without. They have everything they want; so the things they say about him are probably true, but he does seem to have the Isle's best interest at heart."
[Sorry about the delay. Things have been pretty hectic at work.]
"Let me say this much," Braithe lowers his voice. "The Jackanapes aren't making that stuff up about him. The man is definitely making sure he and his family are comfortable; but that doesn't mean he's not trying to make the best of a bad situation."
The party continues and the well dressed guests start making their way into the Viceroy's mansion. There is a young boy greeting people at the door, which Braithe identifies as the Viceroy's son, Cas, dressed in a black robe threaded with gold. The music flares up as the festivities wind down and the party moves with the elite into the Viceroy's house.
Scottie gets the feeling that something is amiss. He scans the area and notices somebody on the roof. Niall also notices a Jackanape moving suspiciously around the corner.
[Both Scottie and Niall roll for dexterity check.]
Scottie watches as the figure on the roof pulls out a crossbow and fires two bolts in quick succession. Scottie manages to grab Prince Marius, who is closest to him, and pushes him out of danger. The crossbow bolt intended for him hits the ground with a pew and skitters off. the second bolt flies down from the roof, through the back of Princess Caitlin's skull, poking from her left eye; the same eye the Jackanapes burn off. Scottie can now see the shooter is a Jackanape. Princess Caitlin falls to the cobbled street with a thud that silences the crowd.
Niall runs after the Jackanape hiding around the corner and manages to capture him, pinning him against the wall.
As this is unfolding, the other heroes watch on as Gwyn, the firbolg leader of the Jackanapes, comes into view in the entrance-way to the Viceroy's house. She pulls and dagger from the belt on her hip and slides it across the Viceroy's son's throat. The boy collapses to the ground, twitching as blood gushes from his throat. Gwyn smiles and she closes the doors to the mansion with a smile, bolting the doors closed; but in the confusion of people screaming and fleeing, none of the adventurers are able to make it in time.

"The children are right. We cannot seem rude at our own ceremony. So let us go down there. Also, what happened to the broom I lent you guys?"
Scottie will begin freshening up and will gladly take the children down to the festival; he knows that if he is with them they will at least be safe.

"I've got your broom right here." Braithe pulls the broom from beside his bed.
As they head down t o the streets, Niall sees nothing beyond the sour faced rebels watching on as the crowds giggle and cheer.
"Shall we head straight for the games over there?" asked Princess Caitlin.
