"Did anyone get that?" Faylen murmurs quietly to her companions.

"I did not. Perhaps we can attempt to reason with them through non-violent means; however, I am not so sure. They clearly have taken these people as captives, very likely from the recent shipwrecks in the area. Does anyone have the ability to understand unfamiliar languages?"

"I did not understand them either" V'rekh replies to his companions "but maybe the captives can help us understand the situation better."

"No sorry. That meant nothing to me. I would be careful though. Maybe those people are there for a reason. We can't go releasing prisoners just because we don't know what is going on." Borax tries to move forward a little to get a better view in the room.

The lead frog person begins to lunge forward with their spear. As a rather big amphibian rises from the water.

The enemies just edge out the group and attack. Before the first strike Borax does cast Shield of Faith on Faylen.

He sprints before the others, shouting like a madman, just to arrive at 10 feet from the closest frog-like one, attacking it with his glaive.

Then he steps back a little (only if spear is considered to have 5 feet range).

The two in the back hop out of the far exit.

One of the frog people in the middle raises their shield and takes up a defensive posture (dodge) along with the giant frog emerging from the water.

The two up front leap forward to attack Faylen.

Even with Borax's shielding, Faylen is knocked unconcious from the assault.

The rest of the party will either need to attack at range, move into Faylen's space, or try to push past the frog-people with a Strength (Athletics) check. The current order is still  Faylen, V'rekh, Uthred, Jarrett, and Borax.

The "This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results." note, got added after I added the line about Faylen going down, but the rolls look the same.

Uthred moves forward stepping over the downed Faylen, but his first attack misses.

Seeing Faylen fall, Borax calls out in desperation to Gond. "Save her". Calling down his Healing Word to help her. 4.

Then, turning in anger toward one of the smaller frogs at the front of the pack, he unleashes the Sacred Flame of Gond on it, hoping to drive it back to the water. 6

On his turn, if there are still frog people standing, V'rekh would call lightning upon them "how dare you attack us without provocation!", casting chromatic orb at the nearest one.

OOC: I believe it is my turn now. Just a reminder that Jarrett has the Enhanced Arcane Focus infusion active. So all my spell attack rolls gain a +1 Bonus and Ignore Half Cover. I will maneuver into a good position as possible for ranged attacks.

Jarrett grimaces as Faylen falls to the savage attacks of the frog people. He cannot reach the elven lass to heal her, so instead he activates the contraption on his wrist. A small brass post with a hoop attached to the top and a red-crystal reticle inside it pops out. He lifts his wrist and takes aim through the aiming device and sends a bolt of white hot spark streaking through the room towards one of the frog creatures standing over Faylen.

Borax beseeches Gond and revives Faylen, who wakes up prone just behind the raging barbarian. V'rekh's lightning ball sails past Uthred but misses its target and scatters across the surface of the far wall. On the other side of Uthred Jarrett's contraption strikes true, wounding one of the frog people.

Borax attempts to bring a holy flame down on that same target.

The spell connects, injuring that one further but they remain standing. 

The frog-people attempt to take down a second target as they attack Uthred.

Uthred holds the line and shrugs off nearly all the attacks (reduced to 1 damage due to rage), and the injured one attempts to jump away (Uthred may make an attack of opportunity). The middle forg-person continues to dodge as it orders the large frog to attack the raging human.

The frog-people in the back reemerge from the far passage with shields and spears of their own.

Borax charges at the frog-person who had attacked Uthred, drawing his Warhammer as he did so. As soon as he is in range, he swings at the creature, trying to knock it away from his companion.
