Vaclav's arcane missiles crash into the body of the bandit leader who judders erratically as they strike him. But, incredibly his resilience is massive and he almost grins through the pain. He's now heavilyinjured.
Louis reaches where Claire and Nos Heliwr are lying and brings Claire back into the fight with a prayer of healing, calling upon the mysterious powers of the Light to aid her. She comes conscious, lying at the feet of the bandit leader, her glaive within easy reach next to her.
Claire and Nos Heliwr are up! Claire is conscious but prone. Nos Heliwr needs to roll a Death Saving throw, please.

Claire comes to woozily, only to face the sight of the bandit leader, grinning but injured. Her temper flares, and she grabs her fallen glaive and uses it to push herself to her feet. Take care of yourself first, she reminds herself of her basic training...

... before you can take care of others, she finishes chanting, turning her glaive around and driving the butt-end into the leader‘s abdomen.

If he‘s still up, she‘ll rally with a battle cry and smack him with the flat of her blade: Action Surge
Claire surges to her feet and with adrenaline pumping through her, flurries the leader, hitting him multiple times. But like a prize boxer, he's somehow still on his feet. Swaying and likely to collapse at any moment, yet still up. He's criticallyinjured now.
At her feet, Nos Heliwr groans in his stupor but is still alive.

The bandit leader swings his scimitar around, barely able to control it, but he blinks, focuses and tries to put Claire down again, whilst also dealing with Louis who just ran in to heal her.
The leader is just too far gone, virtually out on his feet and Louis and Claire expertly bat aside his feeble attempts to skewer them.
Meanwhile, the last remaining crossbowman tries to peg the wizard once again.

This shot is true and clips Vaclav on the shoulder.
Aaron and Jack quickly confer and decide that attempting to shoot at the leader who is fighting two enforcers is simply too risky. So they both take aim on the lone crossbowman in the woods.

The two sailors are getting the hang of their bows and the bandit is clipped on both an arm and a leg - but is somehow still standing, though he is heavilyinjured and looks ready to run.
Vaclav looks at the man in the middle of the fray but then takes the bolt in the shoulder. Cursing in a guttural language he directs the owl to swoop once again on the bandit with the crossbow while drawing from the arcane to give the black bird some punch. shocking grasp

Claire finally smashes the leader into the sandy beach from where he does not get back up, though he clearly still breathes. He's unconscious but stable. Chernobog has singed the lone archer who now takes off, dropping his bow and fleeing into the wilds for his life. He is lightlywounded from the attack by the owl but otherwise looks okay.
Your whole group are on their feet, thanks to the ministrations of the local hunter, Louis, and his unexpected connection to the Light.
The captain and his son come over, looking in amazement at each other. Jack is grinning from ear to ear. It's clear they have never been in a battle before and are full of adrenalin.
Congratulations, you saved the barge! Combat is over unless you wish to chase down the fleeing man?
Claire feels her side, realizing how close she came to death. Not a new feeling, but never a pleasant one.
"Thank you, Louis," she says with sincere gratitude. "Your timely aid saved the day. Perhaps you can do the honors shackle up this fellow here for us with your manacles. I rather like the idea of putting him and Fallon in chains after what we've been through," she grumbles.
Seeing Aaron and in particular Jack smiling at one another, her spirits dip briefly. "Thank you, both of you... your aid was very much appreciated and, dare I say, needed." Facing off towards Jack, she shakes her head a bit. "But you see how dangerous this sort of life can be. Exciting as this may have been, I hope you'll consider the price one has to pay to live it. Very often the cost is too high... there's a safety and security in sticking to the family business of driving that barge. Although keeping the crossbows on hand would not be a bad idea, especially since you both have shown you can use them well." She smiles, hoping that she dampened some of the younger man's enthusiasm for the adventuring life at least a bit.
Chernobog swoops on the runner and buffets him but he ducks behind a tree and dodges. He realizes he'll never get away and turns, dropping his sword and raises his hands in surrender. Louis soon arrives on the scene.
You have an unconscious but stable leader, a manacled and conscious follower and four dead bandits. Fallon is still in the barge, tied up and fully cowed.
Aaron looks around at the carnage, chewing on something which smells slightly rancid. "Interesting stuff, travelling with you fellows," he comments. "Where to next? We won't be able to get past that tree without making some efforts to shift it. Back to Hillsend, or on to Grunal?" he asks.
"I'd suggest we put some effort into moving that tree, and you gentlemen finally get to complete your coal run as intended, as long as you foresee no further problems. We could then walk these two back towards Hillsend on foot to face questioning and justice for their actions. But, of course, I would like to hear what the others thing of this plan," Claire clarifies.
"I think we should take them both on a relaxing river trip, ask a few questions," here Nos Heliwr glares at the two captives, and bring them before the Baron."
