Brocc + Hinry: As you prepare to enter Croaker Cave, a mysterious sensation envelops you. You suddenly feel like a foot, pulled through a sock that’s too small for it, getting pulled and breaking through to the other end. Feeling heat, you open your eyes, and see that instead of the frigid ice and snow of Palebank Village, you’re now on a sandy beach, hearing screams and shark roars. You can see that nearby are three humanoids, seemingly discussing over the corpse of a dead shark-like creature.
Tharn, Flick, and Barrion: As that is happening, you see a flash of light as two humanoids, one slightly shorter than the other, materialize out of thin air in front of you, bewildered as to what just went on.
Tharn yells "New meat!" and moves toward the closer one, readying his battleaxe to strike if needed. He looks to Flick and Barrion. "You know them? They don't seem to be with the crabs and frogs."

Brocc's eyes take a moment to adjust, "Hinry, you a'right?" Seeing the half-orc approaching, he holds up a hand, but keeps his shield at the ready, "Greetin's! Might we trouble ya as ta where we are? Seems we've sumhow changed climates."
"They are as unfamiliar to me as this creature, Master Tharn," Barrion says while gesturing to the corpse, "but they have a friendlier countenance."
Barrion begins moving and addresses the strangers with a warm smile, "Well met, friends... but not well timed. We... I... we have pressing matters on the mainland. I know not the manner or reason for your arrival, but I suggest you join us crossing the bridge," and he motions toward the north. "Besides being invaded by sea creatures -- if I understood correctly -- this island is sinking." Barrion casts wide-eyed glances to Tharn and Flick intended to convey a sense of urgency. He returns his smile to the others and says sardonically, "Welcome to Palma Flora."
(Barrion is a half-elf. His complexion is naturally pale but is currently ruddier from his travels. His black hair is combed into a pompadour. Aside from the slightly pointed ears, his blue-green eyes give away his elven heritage. Against his blackish brown leather armor, a reddish orange amulet stands out in contrast -- a winged woman wrapped in tongues of flame.)
"Well Hinry. Palma Flora, hey? Least it's might more invitin' than Palebark," Brocc says to his new world travelling companion. Then turning towards the half-elf, "Well met ta you an' yer friends too, half-elf," Brocc lowers his shield somewhat and waves, "Name's Brocc. Smithy by trade. Had hoped ta get ta Uthadurn, but I guess not now." He looks around, "Best we be movin' if the island is sinkin'."
After a long look at both newcomers, Tharn lowers his axe and adds "There's a ship waiting on the east shore, but it leaves in less than an hour with or without us." He nods toward Barrion. "That one has business over the bridge first though. If you can handle yourselves in a fight, we could use your help. Otherwise, the ship should have room."

"Happy ta help," Brocc says with a smile, picks up his things and makes his way over to the newfound group, "Hinry here an' I can handle a fight, don't ya worry."
The slender, gray and white tiger striped tabaxi in leather armor glances with surprise at the two newcomers who have suddenly appeared on the beach as he sheathes his rapier and adjusts the lyre that's slung around his body.
"Great galloping gibermouthers, what do we have here? These are no folk that I know," he says to Tharn, "but they seem as surprised as we are. Perhaps they were sent here to help us in the most urgent of tasks. It remains to be seen if they are indeed friendly or not, but the mere fact that they are not taking up swords against us right now is a good sign."
Turning to the two newcomers, he said, "Well met indeed, strangers, and welcome to lovely Palma Flora, although I must confess, it has seen better days. I am Flickering Light Fleet Foot Rivertail, but Flick is much easier to say and remember, so let's just stick with that. My companions and I have just vanquish a group of sahaguin who laid attack to the beaches. And then, the very earth shook beneath our feet."
"I would love for us all to have more formal introductions, but as Barrion has said, we should act with urgency and make our way across the bridge. Let us move now!!"
"Sahaguin, huh? Can't say I've ever seen one o' those before," Brocc ponders as the group starts to move, "No matter though. Bit more o' a front man, so I'm sure I'll get a good look soon 'nough." He moves with the group, thinking over what Flick has told them. "What awaits us over the bridge? More sahaguin?"
Tharn looks at Barrion. "Can we get this done? I don't trust that ship to stay if things get worse."

"I think we stick with the plan," Barrion answers Tharn before running after the gnome, "and I'm more confident we'll succeed now that we appear to have two more in our endeavor."
"Hope someone knows where we're going...", Tharn grumbles as he follows.

Approaching the bridge, you see it has already been broken by the quake, and sahaugin menacingly circle human refugees desperately gasping for air and trying to swim across.
Brocc sees the people in distress and the circling sahaugin. "Any ideas friends? Better be quick, 'cause we gotta save them people!" With that Brocc runs forwards towards the water's edge, bashing his shield to draw the attention of the sahaugin and away from the swimmers.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Chainmail doesn't float," Tharn says. "Can you casters distract them or bring them to shore? I'll try a rescue." He pulls rope from his pack, makes a loop, and tries to throw it to the nearest refugee and pull them to land. "Or at least find some bait..." he mutters.

Seeing Brocc head out towards the water's edge to try and distract the sahaugin, Flick follows, but stays a good ten feet back from the surf.
"You'd better watch out, you soon-to-be-dead sea devil cowards!! An aquatic elf is about to get you, and we all know much stronger they are then stupid, weak sahaguin!"
With that, Flick casts Silent Image and creates the illusion of the mortal enemy of all sahaugin, a blue-green skinned aquatic elf walking out of the surf about 30 feet away from the sahaugin. The elf is holding a trident and holds an aggressive stance against the creatures.
With a thwip, the rope flies in the air, hooking around one of the refugees. The sahaugin prepare to respond, but are suddenly distracted by Flick’s illusory elf, swimming towards their nemesis.
"Nice one Flick. Draw 'em this way an' we can take 'em out." Brocc prepares himself for these strange creatures to get close enough for him to smash with his mace.
