"Agreed." Kallista nods to Archer. "Maybe one or two of the stealthier members of our group could scout ahead, just to make sure nothing else sinister lies in wait." She suggests. Turning to Evi, she says, "I don't recognize the species at all."
(Question for the DM - what is the general/common knowledge regarding Knurath and the Great Conflict? About how long ago was it? Is Knurath believed to be gone/defeated/dead, or do people think he's still out there? Just trying to judge what the characters' reactions would be to seeing his minions roaming around. If he's supposed to be dead, I would imagine they'd be a bit more shocked than if he was still alive and plotting.)
Orimdal grumbles at not finding anything and stands up. "I would think there's no many more 'round here. If the big one portalled out like that. But even so, can't hurt fer us ta keep an eye open. Minions of this Knurath or no, that's no gonna be the last we see of them if that big one comes lookin'."
(The Great Conflict ended about 5 years ago, but lasted for a few decades. I'm thinking your characters would have been born probably around the middle of the conflict. It ended when a group of mages and other heroes banished him by tearing him apart [literally] and scattering each part of his body across the multiverse. Of course, this didn't kill him, just made it insanely difficult for him to be revived. For creature type purposes, yes they are fiends.)

(Not that you found, they either all left or were disposed of. When you were riding with the caravan, there were about 12 people. But you only just saw 3 fiends.)
Edit: Oh and everyone gets one level, so you should all be 2nd Level now.
Fletcher finds some humanoid tracks that lead from the caravan that he and the rest of the party were in earlier. They move towards the clearing they were just in, but before they reach the edge of the road, they shift into fiendish tracks. No other tracks can be found.

"What do you suppose they were up to," Tender muses, wandering back towards the caravan. "That big one is probably going to be trouble again, I'd bet," she adds, scowling.
"Above us?" Evi asks Orimdal before realizing that half of the group had tensed up for some reason. Not immediately noticing anything, she takes a precautionary action and moves from out of the open to under a tree; staying alert.
Ormidal unfortunately cannot find any items on them, no matter how mundane. Nothing at all.
