"You've got good form, Evi." Jullar says. "Boy, is it hot out here." He begins to unbutton his shirt, revealing toned muscles and a well maintained body. He stands, looking out over the edge of the boat with his hands on his hips. "I think that's better."

Starting to feel the heat, Kallista shrugs off her cloak, folds it, and sets it down near the mast. She walks over and leans against the railing next to the others, looking at the glittering sea below.
"Hot?" Tender repeats, just this side of incredulous. "This is nice weather," she says confidently, politely curling her tail around her feet so as not to accidentally trip anyone. She's all but forgotten the line in the water, too busy staring out at the waves and enjoying the rocking motion of the ship.
"It's not too bad," Kallista comments. "But I'm definitely used to a bit cooler temperatures." Noticing Tender's absentmindedness, she makes sure to keep an eye on the line.

"I don't mind it hot, after all, I've spent plenty o' time at the forge. But this humidity is somethin' different," Orimdal wipes his brow as he watches the waters ahead (Perception: 1).
After patiently waiting along the railing for about a half an hour or so, Evi suddenly stirs and quickly jerks on the line pulling out a small fish from the water. After admiring it rather unemotionally for a few moments, she'll casually release the fish back into the water before recasting her line.

Seeing Evi reel her line in, Tender remembers her own and turns to peer at it, frowning. It has gone slack with her inattention, and when she reels it in, all of the bait has been eaten off the hook. "Well that's hardly fair," she grouses, though good-naturedly, her usual sheepish grin taking over her face. She doesn't put the line back in the water, too self-aware to think she'll remember it any better this time. Instead, she turns her gaze skywards to see if she can see the strange creature again.
Kallista chuckles at Tender's misfortune, picking up the abandoned rod. "I'll give it a try." She grabs a new piece of bait, and after fumbling for a moment, manages to get it on the hook. Her throw isn't nearly as graceful as Evi's, but at least it hits the water.
Tender, the skies are clear, only a few clouds, and the sun.
After a few more hours have passed, the sun begins to set. The captain gets some food from below deck for dinner and sets it out for you all. Jullar stands at the front of the boat, looking out at the sunset.

Tender eats, but joins Jullar at the front of the boat, captivated by the sight of the sun setting over the water. "You know," she says quietly, "it's almost the same as the desert; the dunes were like the waves, some high enough that they could have been mountains."
"It is," she confirms, wistful. "I'm from Thararagath; a monastery just on the edge of the desert." She smiles, though it briefly has something sad to it. "We would venture out sometimes into the dunes when were dodging chores."
"A place of learning," she answers first, then turns thoughtful. "It's where monks live, where we were taught, and taught others," she smiles again, remembering. "We had a huge library full of just about everything you'd ever want to know, and grand murals on the walls that were beautiful; I probably spent more time goofing off than I did training, but I loved it there. They taught me to love music; you would have liked it, I think."
"I do think I would've." Jullar says with a smile. "But I had Frilis to teach me. And I had some wild adventures. I don't think I could live a life devoted to something. I like freedom and the ability to do what I want."

Fletcher smiles at Tender's story but it brings him back to his own past. "I was lucky. If Berdon didn't make me do accounting work, I would probably be illiterate. I didn't know it then, but I....I think he was doing me a favour. I always thought that I would never need to read or write. But if I couldn't I would never be here. I would still be in Barrowden..... Anyway. We need a plan. Are we going to find the rest of these 17?"

Fletcher is keeping a lookout. For some reason he doesn't trust these waters.
