(Sailors either put them on a boat and light it or, more grimly, they put them on a small wooden platform with a number of meat products to attract various predators, and then the whole thing is eaten. Jullar tells you this, so it's up to you guys how you want to proceed.)

"I've seen the funeral ceremony a few times back in Koria and can help as well." Looking around the remains of their ship quickly, "I think we have enough to make a funeral pyre if someone is able to set it alight from afar once we release it."

“I’ll go get the body if you all want to work on the pyre,” Kallista suggests. If no one objects, she’ll head below decks and carefully pull the captain’s body out from where it has been wedged. Before bringing it upstairs, she’ll glance over it and see if she can discern the cause of death.

Kallista winces at the brutal-looking method of death. She looks around to see if there’s any sort of cloth she can use to wrap or cover the body, then picks it up and carries it up the stairs towards the others.
Kallista returns to the others and gently lays the body on top of the pyre, then covers it with a few of the sacks. "Anyone want to say anything, or are we just lowering it in and setting it ablaze?"
"Typically you only say something if you knew the man, and I did not, so I don't think I have anything to say other than he didn't deserve to go out this way." Jullar comments.

"He sure didn't," Tender agrees, sighing. "Let's get him lowered down and then someone can set him alight." It's a grim affair, but Tender has taken care of her fair share of the dead before and doesn't let it get to her too badly.
Fletcher stands solemnly while the others proceed. At a lapse in the talking, he kneels over the body, and says the traditional prayer for the dead from his village
"As you pass from one life to the next, where you may find eternal peace, may no stone nor iron, no misfortune nor evil lay in wait, may you find sleep in the darkness, and in the darkness, light"
He stands, waiting for the others to finish, before helping to lower the captains body into the waves.

Before the group lowers the Captain into the water, Evi pulls out (6) Copper pieces and (4) Silver pieces; placing them carefully over his body and where his eyes and mouth would've been. She then steps back and says quietly "The Sea Mother watches over you now." before then assisting the party with the funeral once it was time to release him into the water.
As the floating pyre is lowered onto the water and starts to float away, Orimdal reaches out his hand, "Rest well, old sea dog." As he says this, create bonfire is cast and the pyre alights.

You watch the waves carry the boat away, the light getting smaller in the distance. A moment of silence is held in the captain's honor, and then dinner is served. 5
The night progresses without combat, but feel free to play out any rp encounters with each other before I assume a long rest until morning.
Kallista sits next to Tender as they eat, leaning against the broken mast. "You know," she says quietly after a few minutes. "I'm used to bodies, but I've never been to a proper funeral. It's kind of nice, for a change."
"I think funerals are nice, in a way," she replies, then makes a face. "That probably sounds a little weird," she adds, smiling a little crookedly. "But, it makes sure someone remembers you, y'know?" Of course, funerals were different back home, and the last one she'd been to had been a lot bigger. "Kind of feels like he died 'cause of us," she admits, sighing, "so I think it's only right that we remember that he lived."
"No, I understand what you mean." A small, sad smile creeps across her face. "Honestly, I don't know if I want to be remembered. Maybe by you guys. But most of the people who have cause to remember me... well, let's just say it isn't for my heroics. It's better if they forget I exist."
"Well, I can't speak for those people 'cause I don't know 'em, but I'm glad you're with us," Tender tells her earnestly, offering a tired smile. "Whatever happened before, we're all together now; we'll look out for you, and if," she looks down, brows furrowing as she remembers just how close they all came to dying earlier. "If the worst happens, you'll be remembered for good things." She huffs a little laugh then, looking up at the sky again, something wistful on her face. "AndI think you guys are the only ones left who would remember me at all." Maybe some healer and a couple of kids in Sandhollow, but they've probably forgotten her now, and it was better if they had.
"Well, we'll just have to remember each other, then. For all the good things we are going to do together." Kallista follows Tender's gaze upwards, spending a silent moment looking at the stars. I'm sorry, mom, she thinks. I've failed you. I thought running away from everything good, everything that reminded me of you would help, but really, I was just digging my own grave. But I'm going to try to be better. I'll make you proud. Glancing back to Tender, she smiles. "I'm glad I met you guys, too. I like this 'being good' thing a lot more than what I had before."
Fletcher gives a wide smile that doesn't quite reach his eyes "Oh everyone will remember me! If not for my dashing good looks, then for my bravery in battle, or all the....all the.....um.....they'll think of something I am sure" He plops himself down on the deck and starts to pull out some food, splitting it out among everyone "You know someday this will be all over, whatever this is, and I think that if anyone were to remember me, I would wan't it to be you guys."
