Tender watches the sunrise, relieved they made it through the night. She lets out a small breath upon sight of the port town ahead, glad to be off the water and back on land, where she feels infinitely more stable. She goes around attempting to gently wake everyone, mostly because she has no idea if there are any special preparations they need to make to bring the ship into dock. "The city is up ahead," she tells them, pointing.
"That's...odd," Tender notes, doing a mental count on everyone and then pausing. "Jullar?" She calls, doing another circuit of the deck to look for him before heading below to see if he decided to rest there.
Kallista follows Tender on her second circuit, helping her look. “We had better find him quickly. I think he’s the only one who knows how to dock this ship,” she comments as they search.
(Side note: what did we do with the serpent corpse? Is it still just sitting there on the deck or did we get rid of it?)
Having returned to the others, Evi is roused to attention when she notices Tender & Kallista moving about the ship seemingly searching for something. When she discovers that Jullar has mysteriously gone missing, she aids them in checking around the ship.
Investigation check to see if any clues may have been left behind:15
Orimdal scratches his chin as they look for Jullar and he ponders Kallista's comment about him being the only one that could dock the ship. "P'haps it's best we no dock the ship. I'd rather no have ta pay fer a dock if we crash this heap through it. Maybe we drop anchor off shore an' take a row boat ta shore instead? I'll get that ready." Orimdal will change his search from Jullar to a row boat for the group to reach shore in and will ready it before returning to the helm and find somewhere to drop anchor near enough to shore.
"Where could he have gone?" Tender asks, frowning. "Did anyone see him last night? He couldn't have just...Disappeared," she adds, shaking her head. Though it wouldn't have been the strangest thing if he had, considering the last few days of their lives. She goes to look around where she saw him last, trying to find some sign of what might have happened.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Kallista starts searching for any indication of where he went. Are his personal belongings or the bandore still there? Does it look like there was a second rowboat at one point? Is there any blood or sign of a struggle?
"I'm not sure what happened to him but I don't think he could've been taken in the night without at least one of us noticing; he probably had a good reason for leaving suddenly but hopefully he'll come back and find as soon." Evi comments, having mostly steadied herself over the past few hours. Pausing to glance at the rapidly approaching city - her pulse rising with nervous anticipation - she adds, "The bigger question though is what are we going to do? None of us really know where to go, who to speak to or what to do really regarding Knurath's return with Jullar now gone. Does anyone have any ideas on what to do?" If it were up to me, we'd take the first boat back to Vinanthi and hope Knurath never found us, Evi thought to herself rather mirthlessly even though she knew that neither outcome was a remote possibility.
"I'd say we find lodging first. We don't know how long we'll be here for, and with our newly acquired coin we can probably afford it." Kallista looks down at her clothes and hair, which are still covered in serpent guts, and then at the others, who are all in varying states of dishevelment. "Maybe clean up a bit. Then we look for the wizards, right? Frillis made it seem like they were pretty famous. I don't think we'd have a hard time finding them if we ask around."
(I don’t believe I did mention names, but from your time in the city, Evi, you know that the Wizards in question are the five who successfully defeated Knurath before. They live as advisors to Koria’s political delegate in the Palace.)
”No one thought to look up here?” You hear a voice call down from up above. Looking up you see a rather disheveled Jullar in the crows nest. His hair is a mess and his fine clothes are wrinkled.

Tender heaves a relieved sigh, shaking her head as she looks up at him. "You up and disappearin' from the ship would hardly be the weirdest thing that's happened lately; can't blame us for thinking it," she calls up, though can't keep her usual grin from stealing onto her face.
"Well, I'll keep an eye out fer a place ta drop anchor near 'nough ta shore," Orimdal says looking up at the crow's nest, shielding his eyes with a hand from the sunrise as he looked up. "I definitely don't feel confident dockin' this thing. Lodgin's first sounds like a good idea Kallista." Orimdal once again shields his eyes as he looks to shore to find a spot to pull up (Perception: 9).
Kallista lets out a sigh of relief upon seeing Jullar alive and well in the crow's nest. "Taking the rowboat in is probably going to be the easiest option, especially with our captain gone," she agrees. "Evi, it sounds like you've spent a decent amount of time here. Do you know anything about where we might find the wizards?"
"Actually, I think I might have a few ideas. There are some famous wizards in the city who work as advisors for the political elite so if the ones we're looking for aren't in hiding, then they may actually be one and the same."
“Bad luck is only what you make it. Life challenges those who live it.” The djinni says. “If life was easy, what would be the point in living it?”

The rest of the night passes without trouble. Whoever is on the helm come sunrise can see a port town up ahead.
