Looking at the footsteps going toward where the woman landed, then two sets going back, Jedavii motions to the others before going towards the door. He reaches for the knob, then moves his hand back. A ghostly hand extends from his own as he moves to the side of the door, and opens it using mage hand.
60 feet beyond the stone door, the tunnel levels out. Two stone reliefs of stern dwarfs in chain mail and carrying battleaxes face each other across the tunnel. The carvings stand out from the passage walls, and they have gaps around them so they could be doors. The passage continues past them.
Having gone out to the market, Penn had been buying food for his mother and sister when all the commotion had started. Darting forward into the crowd he had heard the cries of a woman and children falling in a hole, although the children had already been pulled out. The woman was still down there though and he had seen several figures drop down to find her.
Knowing he had to do something, he runs over and although he hears the village elders trying to stop him, drops down using the rope someone had already tied off. Landing in the pile of dirt below, he hears voices nearby and finds several others opening a door leading further into the tunnel. "Is this a private party, or can anyone join?" he asked jokingly.
Penn is relatively tall with shaggy black hair and brown eyes with an almost clean shaven face. He wears chainmail and has a longsword and shield strapped to his back. On his neck he wears a collar of some sort.

"The more the merrier ya know. Welcome. As far as these carvings are concerned, I normally take the likes of dwarven brethren as a good omen, but something tells me to take caution here."
Si begins to study the cracks around the carvings that are closest, careful not to put his body between the two wall sections separating them. He also looks for writing or runes of some kind.
"Indeed! I'm all for checking out this passage." Si unbuckles his shield, removes it from his back and wields it before him. War hammer in his right hand he proceeds down the tunnel wary of any danger.
"I hope you all can see well enough, it's basted dark down here."
As you walk down the tunnel you come across a room with a grim scene. The tunnel opens into a room that reeks of decaying flesh. Three human corpses, reduced to little more than bone and sinew, are sprawled across the room’s center. Two oversized rats root among the bodies, stopping to chew flesh they’ve pulled free. Scuttling noises come from narrow crevices in the walls.
Talvian became lost in the rapid action of the emergency unfolding before him. First the dwarf, Si was his name apparently, and the odd elf managed to pull some children from the sinkhole then what appeared to be one of the town elders began arguing with Si. All the while a goblin of all things to drop down into the hole to find a woman who had supposedly fallen in whom Si, the odd elf, and another man Talvian had never seen all followed to offer their aid in whatever was going on down in the cavern bellow. The one thing Talvian knew was that he needed answers as to what was truly going on, so he went to find the elder that had been arguing with Si.
Talvian raises his hands to try to disperse any aggression aimed at him.
"Easy there friend I just got into town when all of this craziness started happening. There are a bunch of people that just went down there to save a woman and you seem to have at least an idea as to what that cavern is. If those men are going into something dangerous I think they deserve to know."
The elder looks at you skeptically. “I do not know what is down there. But many monsters live below. And many monsters seem to have been aggravated. But my suspicion is that it is just a sinkhole. I believe they will be out in an hour. Go along with your day.”
"Not exactly, I can't see a darn thing down here." He replies to Si as he lights a torch.
Listening around as they enter the room with the bodies, Jedavii says nervously: "Methinks there'll be a swarm if we try and cross the room. Should we try going down the original passage first to see if the woman's there?"

After a moment, Jedavii climbs down the rope, having ignored the elder's shouts as well.
"Hey guys! Looking for the woman who fell down here too?"

"Very well, let's see what is going on..." Jhazaal says, nodding to the opened door. He would not lead, but would follow the others through.

You cannot see any runes or writings. But behind one of the carvings is a passage that extends for about 80 feet at which it turns.
"Nice find." Jhazaal says. Want to check this passage out?" he would follow them down it if they do.

You find the elder looking into the sinkhole with a part panicked, part angered expression. He looks at you and says “What do you want.”
