(OOC - which of the two exits was in the direction that the spirits pointed towards?)
(uh uh... uh.............. "right." I totally planned this out 100% guys, I swear lol)

Trying to get your physical content on Beyond is like going to Microsoft and saying "I have a physical Playstation disk, give me a digital Xbox version!"
Zack points to the right, "Well, our new friends indicated that whatever held them here was in that direction. Should we venture there first? And not to worry Oriander, I'm sure we'll figure something out."
Vigil leads the march towards the location the elven spirits had pointed. He figures that there might be some clues to better understand what is going on in these caverns.
As the party moves towards the exit the elf spirits had indicated, the air feels charged. Even Oriander can feel the force of magic in the air, and he has no magical talent whatsoever.
"...Ah don' like this." He says as they get nearer to the tunnel. "...Yer a wizard, Zach... How uh... How far do you think this magic source is? Iffin' we feel it... here?"
(to which Zach, and anyone else, can make an Arcana check to perhaps make a judgment call.)

Apologies for the late reply. It's been a hectic couple of days on my end. Also, DNDBeyond doesn't seem to like that I deleted its app from my tablet because notifications have been wonky lately.
Zach estimates the "core" is about 1000 or so feet down... Though, given how strong it is, who knows how much rock there is between here, and there. The others simply feel a general "bad feeling" coming from the tunnel.
Oriander shifts a bit uncomfortably. "...So eh...?"

"Depen's on the afterlife, I guess." Oriander says, following Vigil.
As they descend into the darkness (well, dim light for those with darkvision), a chill settles into the air. It certainly doesn't feel like the normal dampness of a cave system, and a certain electric quality fills the air. Any loose hair alternates between standing straight and falling flat again the deeper and deeper the party goes.
...And then the clicking starts. Echoing from below. Talons on stone. It seems the adversary is making its way down with them... just with a bit of a head start.
And Oriander tightens his grip on his club.

"Should we perhaps move a little faster? We risk running headlong into those things, but I'd rather get to wherever we're going first, if possible," Zack says as they hear the clicking and tapping.
Vigil scoffs. "If this new blade you found works as it should, we might run into them but they won’t get the drop on us." He tightens the grip on his weapon as he starts moving more quietly. "Though try to find an escape route first if we meet those things."
(Don’t know if this is still going on. Sorry for the delay.)
Vigil begins stealthily moving toward the noise. He figures that if these creatures are going somewhere, maybe they can lead the four of them to their target.
(*Gasp* We live! Well uh, we'll wait for Kalgren then!)

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Oh wow, I haven't had an update of this thread in quite a while. Sure, let's get back on track.
The wound on his torso began to ache when Kalgren heard the clicking. He was not keen on going towards the source of the sounds but figured that in for a copper, in for a gold. It seemed that the only way forward was going down and while he knew many stories where the heroes had to trudge through the darkest aspects of their journey to reach the light, he really was not looking forward to it.
Kalgren inched along with the others, clutching his newly found staff firmly in his right hand, ready to fire off an attack or orb of light should anything in the dark threaten him.
Vigil, despite his best efforts, makes some clattering noises as rocks along the cave floor shift under his boots.
But, if the enemy hears Vigil, there is no indication. The clicking continues, and the deeper they descend, the louder it seems to get. Until they hit another gate. A smooth stone gate, no inscriptions this time. In front of the gate are several of the creatures, mostly white and gross, scraping their talons up against the stone of the gate. A larger one, similar to the "leader" from the village, seems to be tapping around for weak points in the rock around... And a gray one (well, gray in the darkvision), with seemingly two heads adorned with shield-like crests, looks to be examining the gate directly. There appear to be about 5 or 6 of the white ones, the ones identified as "drones," plus the "leader" and the shield one.

Vigil silently motions to the others to stop. He also attempts to indicate the number of creature in the general direction of the door. He then whispers to them.
"They seem to be trying to get through. Picking away at a locked door. My gut tells me to wait and see what they do. What’s your call?"

Zack strokes his chin in thought. "Well, we've come this far. It could be a ways down, but, nothing ventured, nothing gained."
"You don’t gain anything by being dead though.", remarks Vigil with corner smile before moving forward.
