'Oh for the love of-'Kalgren rolled his eyes. He did not like it but a tinge of fear had crept into his outcry: the pain of the wound he had suffered at the talon of a similar creature flared up to remind him of how close he had gotten to never bathing in Amaunator's light again.
With the rod in one hand to ward off whatever might come his way, he laid the other behind him on the stone door. 'I want to get out of here. I want to go home, Kalystra!'

(I'm dying of laughter XD. but you ARE technically correct, the best kind of correct!)
It seems all of the prayers in question are enough to drive the door open. Oriander, gripping his club, steps in front of the door while using his free hand to urge the rest of the party through the door...
But all any of the rest of the party can see right now is just bright light. It is warm though, non-threatening... just blinding, like the sun.

And on the other side... is a whole lot of seemingly nothing. The air is charged with magic, making everybody's skin tingle and prickle up like frozen chicken skin. The door does shut behind them, and from the side the party is on now, they do see the creatures surging for the door before it slams shut on them... severing the talon of one of the small ones and leaving it a crushed pulped mess in the door.
Behind them, is a large cavern for sure... But despite the high level of magic, there isn't anything immediately obvious. No exit except for the door, just a large circular chamber. Oriander shakes his head, clearly confused himself. "What... What's tha poin' of such a complicated door? If it jus' leads ta this?"

Using his still-burning blade as a light source, Vigil pokes the severed limb to make sure it won’t come back to life. Once he’s sure the talon will remain still and lifeless, he walks slowly towards the center of the room.
"Still better than staying on the other side of the door with that scum.", he replies to Oriander.
He begins looking around for clues, writings/ drawings on the wall/ceiling/floor.
"Zack, don’t you have some trick to sense magic. Can definitely feel something here, but we could use your eyes to see what’s channeling it."
Zack nods to Vigil, "I do. It'll take me several minutes to cast as long as you can wait that long." He goes about preparing his ritual to cast Detect Magic.
Kalgren stared down at his feet. They were still there. Good, that meant he had not been disintegrated by the light. He was still alive. A net positive, as it were.
It was where he was that bewildered him more. A large, seemingly empty room with nothing going on. He did feel ambient magic in the air so there had to be something special about this room, not to mention the rather intricate lock that was placed on it. You do not put a door on something if you did not want to keep it closed.
'This is a bit weird.' Kalgren aimlessly wandered around the room. 'Not what I had in mind when praying for home.'
He seperated himself a bit from the others. He removed his eyepatch, laid two fingers on the topaz underneath and softly whispered: 'Kalystra, are you there?'

During his wandering, he can feel that the stone around him seems a lot weirder than normal stone. Not quite "alive", but obviously not regular rock.
"...It seems you're in something of a conundrum, hm? What could you ever ask for in this scenario?" The soft, amused voice of his patron enters his mind. Filling Kalgren with the soft reassurances that, despite all that seems to be, he is in fact on a correct path.

Zach begins ritual casting the spell. Nothing seems to be interfering with it despite the arcane charge filling the air... His results will be revealed once the spell is complete.

Kalgren breathed a sigh of relief. The fact that he got a response meant that the chamber was not hermetically sealed and that was possible to get certain things in and out. It alleviated some of his concern though he was still somewhat on edge.
'Just wanted to make sure I wasn't about to meet the big guy in the sky.'He replied with a mental smile. 'We're currently stuck inside a magic chamber inside something called Mother Mouth. Our resident wizard is working on identifying it but so far it's alive yet not, hard to explain, and filled with ambient magic. Also attracts an indigenous species that's highly adaptive. Unnaturally so even. Definitely linked with the missing people's case here in Drefeld. I'll keep you updated if we find anything usefull. Say hi to the priests back home.'
Kalgren tuned out and turned his attention back to the situation he found himself in. He reviewed what he knew in his head to try and find some connections between it all. There was one thing that bothered him. A minor detail really but enough for him to consider... But that would be absurd, would it not? Then again, names had meaning and power.
'Hey, Oriander,'He tentatively called out to the goliath, 'Mother Mouth: that's just a poetic way of naming this place, right?'

"It is the Mouth of our Earth-Mother... From whence we came." He chuckles a little. "...No, we are not in a literal stomach of an entity. The Earth-Mother is a spirit of great magnitude that formed the island upon which we stand, and when she rested, she became the island, and thus was spirit no more."

Meanwhile, Zach's completion of his ritual gives him the ability to see a large amount of illusion magic in the area. The nature of the illusion prevents him from seeing exactly where the illusion is... unless it's perhaps the entire area. In addition, Conjuration Magic seems to be pretty prevalent, which makes sense given up above with the wisp-folk.

'So we're in a magic room with living magic rock. Neat.'
Kalgren walked up to the wall. They might as well experiment around to see if that yielded any results. First he tapped the rock with the rod just to see if that would have some reaction. Following that, he used some magic to cast two instances of Minor Illusion: one being a visual illusion of one of the serpentine things that had attacked them previously, the other a auditory one that imitated the clicking they made.
He took a couple of steps back away from the image, just to be safe.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"In my experience, illusions are meant to try and hide something from prying eyes. There’s something here, hiding in plain sight. Maybe a passage to continue our way…"
Vigil begins looking around the room, the walls specifically. He runs his hand along the wall to see if there’s something hidden.
None of the walls react to any of the probing by the party or the illusions conjured by Kalgren. After a bit of time, Zack suddenly realizes that the illusion isn't in the walls...
But the pillar in the middle.
In the meantime, everyone is able to suddenly hear the scratching at the door again. Apparently the creatures are back and are more furiously dedicated to getting inside.

Zack looks to the door and the scratching sounds before turning back to the pillar. "This pillar is giving me some weird vibes, though I can't put my finger on it."
(OOC - I'd totally missed/forgotten the pillar. In my head we were in an empty room *facepalm*)
Seeing no further development along the walls, Kalgren rejoined the others and turned his attention to the pillar in the middle. Zack's comment about how it felt, made Kalgren scratch his head.
'What, it radiates magic or something?' He asked. He would have continued his inquiry but the scratching distracted him.
'We got to move fast.' A sense of urgency permeated his voice. 'Either this pillar is hiding something or it's part of the illusion. Either way, let's shed some light on the whole affair.'
Kalgren raised his rod, tapped the pillar and cast Light on it.

'See you on the other side.' Kalgren saluted and jumped headfirst into the door's opening and the bright light.
