The lizardfolk standing around Flux bobs their heads along to his words. The short, stout ones they've come across in their time really were stubborn. Seeing his folk agree with the softskin before him, the King was inclined to agree with the man on that fact. And he really couldn't argue against being saved some work. After all, he would rather be focused on running the organization.
The shaman leans in to whisper to him. "But sir, did you actually understand what he's been saying?"
The King puts his hand up to cut him off. Of course he did... He didn't. But he also couldn't be bothered to backtrack now, nor make himself look dull amongst his tribe. "So then, what next brash boy?" The King drums his fingers upon his chair. Where was the proof, the guarantee of his reign? Was he going to escort him so he can witness the death of the leader? Even if he cared not for stubborn soft skins, he wasn't going to send them with an escort to any prisoners without something. " Be clear. I don't have all day." Word games weren't his strong suite.
Flux effected a wide, toothy grin, and if not for the shield currently strapped to an arm, looked as if he might've started rubbing his hands together in glee! "I suppose that depends on what you and yours be ready for, your kingship. Do you... have others yet in the other tunnels that need to be recalled? As it'll be best we be having all hands on deck for this one. If not, well we manage, eh?"He assured the lizardfolk.
Knowing, however, that time was short, Flux promptly carried on by saying, "Aside from calling in more of your forces, if any, and rest assured that I'll be doing the same shortly, uh... You have map of the current level and the tunnels? Or a means for one of your own to whip something up of the sort? Can't properly stage a coup by word of mouth alone. And as you say, you don't have all day." He bows his head and looks almost frustrated for a moment. "And time is of the essence for both of us."

After what felt like a tenday for the lizardfolk to process and respond to Flux's coercion. "Softskin, we are not the only beings roaming these tunnelss." The Lizardking lets out a low snort. "Yous ssimply sstumble where we sslumber." He gestures to his people. "Rest of our handss are 'on deck'." Then motions to above them, meaning up the stairs you all descended. "We were on our way up." The coup.
T'chal'fronack'zcinicker, Kerric, Ebele and Xalkas would all recognize them to be all the lizardfolk they encountered, and dispatched within the Temple. Lewin and Flux would recognize the ones the group slaughtered prior to killing the leader of the Crushing Wave. Those lizardfolk were probably the 'hands' you were looking for, and the king's group were heading to support and would find dead. While you had no proof of the leader of the Crushing Wave's body (he quite literally evaporated), your group had recovered his weapon.
The shaman would lean in to chatter in the King's ear, but he was growing impatient and would wave him away again. The King stands. "Leo-nerd-doh." He looks around. "Leo-nerd-doh!" He demands.
A small haunched lizardfolk with a tailored jacket and top hat gets shoved forward. "Leonardo, ssir." They adjust what appear to be a pair of monocles.
The Lizard King takes hold of his trident and points to the lizardfolk's bound book. "Give the softskin ssome of your leather sscribbles ssince they have ssuch poor ssmell, ssight, and ssurvival sskillss." Then gestures with head and the rest of the lizardfolk stand at the ready to follow. "We warriorss must go." He steps forward to lead his people out the way Flux came in. The shaman was about to protest yet again thus he gives the order. "Sskesh, sstay behind."
The better dressed lizardfolk hobbles over to Flux. Something smelled, looked, and/or maybe felt familiar about this haunched lizardfolk. They glance up at him a bit nervously before offering the first part of the information they were willing to offer. Lewin and Flux would have to try very hard, but they would be able to eventually deduce that this lizardfolk was along for the boat ride. Maybe they would be able to divulge more about your capture, the other captees (Kerric's dwarven delegation), and the workings of the Temple of the Crushing Wave. But to get them alone. The King, that shaman guy and the other lizardfolk wouldn't let it stand.

If Flux could sweat normally, the dwarf would be positively drenched as very many a thing both came to light and clicked in mind as being "problematic" elements to the overall plan. All while mentally cursing himself for being the 'dumbass' to play diplomat. Frayed nerves also kept even errant thoughts from further addressing the lizardfolk Leo-nerd-doh's choice of apparel at first, but mayhaps soon enough...

The King's head turns to look at Flux, his eyes almost narrowing to slits. "I gave my order. Sskesh remains here." He huffs through his nostrils at the man trying to adjust and suggest new plans. He walks up to position himself almost nose to nose with him. "Yer a fool if yous think I'll leave our lair unattended." The King slams the butt of his trident to the floor, cms from Flux's foot. All lizardfolk draw their weapons and stand at attention. Two at the back step forward to position themselves to stand on either side of Sskesh, the Shaman.
Intimidation: 14 (This is RP fluff/a show to get you to back down/know your place around the King. Simply just trying to guide you out of their lair so he and his lacky's can get to the top floor. He, and his tribe, are not hostile towards you at this time, warning you not to push your luck as he still intends to allow you to fulfill your promise to assist with the competition down here.)
"I care not what youss do with Leonerdoh." The Lizard King makes a dismissive gesture to the top hatted lizardfolk. "Nor do I care if these cavess sswallow you whole." He was growing impatient with these shenanigans and has one of his lackeys shove Leonardo forward to Flux, practically bouncing off the man. Then with a motion of his finger he directs you both to turn around and lead the way out. Should you turn around, his trident will be held up practically ready to skewer you upon disobedience.
(Coercing Flux to lead the way out with Leonardo so that the groups can go their separate ways. It is up to the group whether they retreat prior to being seen, or stick around to challenge the Lizard King/folk further. The shaman Sskesh will remain behind with 2 lizardfolk in their lair area while Flux is released with Leonardo to leave and search the grounds while the King and the rest of the lizardfolk go up to the Crushing Wave Temple.)
Flux almost raised his hands up as if in surrender the moment the King's eyes were upon him. But by either some instinct or burgeoning fear dulling reactions, he kept from doing so, and instead stood stock still unblinking as the King's nose is practically shoved into his face. More conscious effort was needed to keep from flinching from the King slaming his trident against the floor, and Flux couldn't be certain afterwards if he succeeded or not. Regardless, it's not until he Leonardo is shoved at him, and Flux in turn reflexively went to catch the lizardfolk least he fall, that he snapped free of his stupor to smile weakly and toothlessly up at the King.
"Eh,uh,er, very well then! Heheh. Let's, uh.. L-let's all be on our way then! Come along, Leonerdoh. We have much, much to do! Such as, eh, informing my men out and about of everything... Y-yes, ahem. Quite so." Flux says as he hurriedly ushered Leonardo past and onward down the tunnel, coincidentally putting himself even further in danger. Something that he would have in his right mind NOT done so, and dared not to try afterwards to correct the blunder out of leeriness of catching a trident to the throat. Which spoke volumes of how much he trusted the 'honor' of the lizardfolk at his back in the moment.
"A-alright men!"He said very openly, switching to [common]. "On our way out! Nice and easy, er, quickly! Make way for his kingship and entrouge, and DO NOT be antagonizing them or standing in their way, least there'll be a flogging awaiting ya!"Flux further warns the party as he made his way out. 'And fer the love of Valkner no backtalk!'He silently prayed. Once well outside and into the more open chambers, Flux pointedly made sure to step aside for the king along the southern wall, feigning focus on ushering the party(if any were any sight), to start heading towards the south western tunnel.
T'chal'fronack'zcinicker raises a scroll of paper and a pen towards Flux, "I mean, yes, of course, not, but...OBVIOUSLY that doesn't include the signature for our just recently formalized agreement here. The king MUST sign the accord, lest all of this be left to foggy imperfect memory." He holds the scroll and pen towards Flux, making sure the man obviously is ok with the presentment of a contract to seal the deal. Then to make things very clear he said to Flux, "We REQUIRE a contract. It's in our groups operating agreement, that no agreement shall be made with 3rd parties except by written contract. You signed it...and I KNOW you wouldn't want to breech your contract."
Lewin, very skeptical of this arrangement, stays quiet and allows them to pass, fingers twitching as he holds in his instinct to drop arcane awfulness upon them. He watches to see if any of them recognize him as they pass. When T steps up with the contract, he thanks his stars he hasn't signed anything.
