Damara sighs in frustration. "We need to, backtrack. This was, not the way." She begins to head back toward where they first arrived through the portal.

I'll update the map and give you the next update after Caradoc and Aeneas have a chance to let me know what they would like to do.

Caradoc will trust Damara with the path-finding. “Lead on, Ive got your back still.”

Following the ravine back to where the portal dropped you, there is a path to the east, and what looks like two paths to the south. 

Damara walks over toward the Eastern path, looking to see where it might lead.

Damara leads the group of three over to the eastern path and peaks around the corner. You see a dead-end. The floor is covered in square tiles, alternating white and black, and a wooden ladder rests against the northeastern wall.

Everyone rolls a Perception check:

• Aeneas: 15 
• Caradoc: 6 
• Damara: 13 

For Damara and Aeneas:

"Look, runes." says Aeneas pointing.  "Let me see."  He steps forward just a bit and tries to interpret them.

With an Arcana 26, Aeneas realizes that these are magical traps before attempting to get too close. With a nat-20, Aeneas would also realize that these runes are for the Burning Hands. Each one of them would produce a thin sheet of flames in a 15' triangular shape originating at the rune. More than likely, with all 6 of these going off at once, whoever, or whatever steps within range of it would be completely consumed in magical fire.

"Stop!" Aeneas cries, throwing his hands back to prevent the others from getting any closer.  "I know what this is.  Get too close and we'll all be burnt to ashes.  Unless you can see anything worthwhile here from where you stand, I say we move on elsewhere."

Damara gives Aeneas a somewhat stiff thumbs up, then points back where they came from. "It seems South, is the only direction, left to go."

Aeneas nods in agreement and follows the others South.

You begin to head south of the portal and you are faced with another decision: southeast, or southwest.

Damara looks around for clues/tracks or anything that may indicate the direction the Ram went.

With Damara's survival roll, she can just barely make out the faintest hint of some tracks. They look humanoid, though. There are what appear to be two pairs of prints heading off to the southeast.

Other than that Damara doesn't see any other tracks.

Damara kneels to take a close look at the tracks, pointing toward the Southeast. "There are tracks. I do not, think, they belong to the, Ram, or Moneo." She looks toward the other two. "Should we, follow? The creature, has left no tracks, so far, so it could be either direction."

“Might as well find someone. Maybe they saw the ram and that’s what sent them this way.” Caradoc 

Aeneas shrugs, and gestures to Caradoc to lead the way.
