This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Damara clenches her teeth as her adrenaline surges with the thing wrapped around her head(rage). Reaching up she feels around for a place to grab it and tries to rip it off. (There would be a roll for that no? I assume a strength check or something to that effect? Just in case, here's a strength roll: 21 )((Advantage because rage))
With your Strength roll, Damara successful rips the creature off of her head without taking any damage. She takes a deep, gasping breath as soon as she feels the sensation of air hitting her face, but much to her surprise, she still can't see. (She's still engulfed in the blackness.)
Not being able to see even after removing the create is unexpected and for the briefest of moments, Damara felt like panic might set in, but she held it at bay and was able to maintain her cool.
Aeneas is going to attempt to swing at an enemy with his greatsword (attack with disadvantage):
Attack: 22 Damage: 5
Impressively enough, even with disadvantage, Aeneas swings his sword wide and hits the creature for 5 points of slashing damage. Aeneas can feel the impact and everyone can hear what sounds like a faint squeal of sorts. You have no idea if the creature is dead or alive. The darkness hasn't dissipated, yet, though.
Because of how close Aeneasis to Damara, and since he's swinging wide and blind, we're going to roll a d100 (with a 50/50 chance) to see whether or not he hits Damara. If it's less than 50, then he hits her. If it's more than 50, he doesn't.
29
We'll do an actual attack roll now to see whether or not Damara's AC would have deflected the attack:
Attack: 7 Damage: 8
So, Damara feels something just barely slash one of the handaxes on her hip. It doesn't connect with her flesh at all, but Damara is now wondering if she is being attacked by two creatures.
Aeneascan feel his sword just slightly connect with something before it makes solid contact on the squid-like creature that squealed. He is wondering whether that was one of his teammates, or if that's the other squid-thingy.
Because of that confusion, Aeneaswill use a free action to say, "I think I hit it. But, I might have hit something else, as well. Damara? Caradoc? Are you near? Are you hurt?"
I won't make you guys roll for it - both Damara and Caradocwould have at least an idea where that voice came from.
((They float, more or less. Not really fly, though.))
Caradoclets two bolts loose into the inky black cloud without any visual or audio confirmation of his target getting hit, it's nearly impossible to know if he succeeded. Although...the inky black cloud to the northeast is slowly dissipating. You can't be sure, though, whether you killed it, or whether it just lost concentration.
Damara is next. (Keeping in mind she did hear both Aeneas and Caradoc speaking out.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Damara responds to Aeneas' call as she lifts her greatsword, the creature having slipped away from her after she removed it, "I'm here. I believe, you may have struck, me." She says the last word with a grunt as she takes a reckless(to cancel out disadvantage) swing in front of her, where the creature likely retreated to, and hopefully away from her ally whos voice seemed to be coming from her side.
She feels herself make a solid contact with something fleshy and she notices that the darkness has started to fade away.
After just a few seconds, the black clouds are gone and the creatures are both laying motionless on the ground, one of them bleeding from what would be its head and the other with two crossbow bolts sticking out of it.
Damara huffs out a breath, rubbing at her temples and double checking that her face wraps didn't come loose while the thing was attempting to suffocate her. Turning, she asks, "Are you both, alright?"

Caradoc tries to back out of the darkness and holds his shot for the first sign of one of the monsters.

Let's have Caradoc roll a survival check (DC10) to see if he can figure out which way is out.
