Brona listens to Lysano, keeping her face neutral, but she felt her attention waning until the man mentioned the Ashkeeper Peaks.
If we go there, that will be the closest I've been to home...
She refocuses her attention, retaining the details of where this young mage had gone."Given what you're asking that seems fair. The alternative offer should work nicely for the rest of us." As Sinsil asks her question, Brona lets out a gruff chuckle, but attempts to pass it off as a cough. She tags on, "Out of curisoty, what was his interest with that site?"
Mobile~ Sinsil will speak up. "That seems reasonable, would you like his corpse if he is dead? Or at least his head for questioning?"
"Mikuel believed the remains of a settlement from the age of arcanum may be preserved somewhere in the mountains. The assembly is keenly interested in recovering any relics or information from before the calamity. So much knowledge was lost- even what we know today is but a fraction of what the mages of old were capable of."
Lysano looks a bit askance at Sinsil. "Certainly, recovering his remains- respectfully- if necessary would be appreciated by his family. I have hopes he is still alive, however."
Waving a hand negligently, he creates an image of a short human man, with red cheeks and black hair. "This is Mikuel. If it will help you, he has a very unique ring." A second image appears, of a ring fashioned in the image of a serpent, with tiny scales of silver, gold and jade. "I trust you know how to locate an object? It may help you to home in on him once you get close." He steeples his fingers, looking at the two of you. "You have everything then, you need to complete this assignment?"
Mobile- Lysano grins. “I’m sure a group of adventurers will be able to think of something. Perhaps I can offer you something else.” Bloodfang returns, carrying a tray with four waxed paper packets. “I have been working on methods of magical healing for our brave righteous brand. Each of these contains a powder, designed to replace a potion of healing. Simply sprinkle on your wounds, and the powder will work immediately. Much more efficient than a breakable potion bottle. Now these are prototypes, so all I ask in exchange is that you take detailed notes about the efficacy of each formulation.”
Mobile- “Certainly, I won’t keep you any longer. And remember, young mage, don’t underestimate our non-magic bretheren. A knife to the heart can kill a wizard as quickly as anyone else.” With that, he stands and Bloodfang escorts you from the tower.
Brona leaves the tower and waits until they've made their way a distance from the tower before asking Sinsil, "What did you think of the place? Was it what you were looking for?"
Mobile~ "Lysano has a reputation for being a bit... Extravagant with his taste. I would have preferred a more down to earth researcher, but I'm not going to complain."
Entering the Inn, Brona spots Tristan and Ashanti from across the room. Approaching them she says, "Let's get a table," before moving over to find a table in a corner. Sitting down she leans back in the chair, "So, did they have a job for us?"
Brona nods, "Straight forward enough. The mage we saw also offered one, but it's a bit more complicated." She explains the details of the job, letting Sinsil fill in the gaps.
Mobile~ Once Brona is finished, Sinsil will chime in. "Unbiasedly I say we look for the young researcher first, there is a higher likelihood that he will still be breathing the sooner we look for him, while I feel the lizards will still be there whenever we decide to exterminate them."

" Also, I'd rather start the day with a rescue operation than a genocide."
(Just as a heads up, you know that the rescue mission is at least a weeks’ journey away, whereas the monsters are close by. Obvs don’t let this change your decision :D )
"The only problem is that the mage neglected to provide transport. It's a week or more worth of travel on an unfamiliar road." She glances around at her company, "If we choose this we need to find a cart or wagon to get us there."

Mobile~ Sinsil will nod politely. "I believe we do, other than a mode of transportation."

Mobile~ Sinsil's eyes light up around her veil. "I can most certainly do that." She reaches to take the packets.
Brona looks to Lysano, then watches as Sinsil accepts the packages, "I'm sure our companions are waiting for us, we have lots to discuss."

Brona nods, "Maybe Mikuel will be alive, he might be a bit more to your taste. Anyway, let's get back to the others, see what they've found."
"Agreed."
Mobile- Before long, you arrive back at the Inn and meet up with Tristan and Ashanti.

Tristan looks up "hell yeah"
“I will take responsibility for what I have done. [...] If must fall, I will rise each time a better man.” ― Brandon Sanderson, Oathbringer.
Ashanti grins at Tristans response, " Pretty standard. Murderise some smelly, lizard people. 25 gold per head."
