"Bye bye now!"Acererak cries in your jaws and you feel yourself being pulled away to a very different location. He casts Plane Shift on you.
You can use this spell to banish an unwilling creature to another plane. Choose a creature within your reach and make a melee spell attack against it. On a hit, the creature must make a Charisma saving throw. If the creature fails this save, it is transported to a random location on the plane of existence you specify. A creature so transported must find its own way back to your current plane of existence.

Kingstra is... confused? Was something supposed to happen? He shrugs as best as a rex could and throws Acererak into the lava to take 45 Fire damage on impact.

“Enough of this..OW..nonsense! We’ll meet again, fool!” says the lich. “And on that day, you will die!”With that, Acererak raises his staff, utters some arcane syllables, and is gone.
Kingstra watches the lich run away in disbelief (or as much as a dino could express disbelief on its face). He waits there, for a time, prior to reverting back to his normal form, just in case he returns, and... he doesn't. The wizard stands there, silent, looking at the spot in which Acererak once stood, then slowly bringing his gaze upon the piles of ashes that were once his friends. Faust slithers from her place to where Astra stood, climbing up the length of his leg to wrap around his arm.
Help friends?
Astra's expression falls at her words. "Yes... We should... take them to maata aur pita... They'll take care of them..."He sucks in a breath, mentally preparing himself to gather up their ashes and leave the temple once and for all.
It takes a few days for Astra to reach Port Nyanzaru and report back to Syndra, giving her the (obvious) Soulmonger update and telling her of the fate of Acererak. "Sounds like you've made quite the enemy, Amir." She says with a slight smile. "And I am sorry to hear of the fate of your compatriots. Is there anything we can do for you? You've done so much for us, it would only be fair."
The wizard can't help but chuckle lightly at her words. "I... I just want to go home."
Light suddenly flashes from the teleportation circle in the middle of the library causing Synder to raise her head from her books to see none other than her older brother standing there looking more than exhausted. "Bhaee?" Her brow raises in question as she does, rushing over to his side. He uses her as a crutch to keep himself standing. "Are you alright?!"
Faust uncoils herself from around the wizards neck onto his sisters shoulders as Amir takes a moment to answer. "Yeah... Yeah. I... I just need a minute. You know how teleportation is..."
"Amir, you look like shit." She deadpans, leading him to a chair to sit down in.
"I feel like shit." He muses, deciding not to try to fight her on sitting down or not.
"Your adventure wasn't as you thought it would be?"She questions, moving to pour him a glass of water which he gratefully takes and chugs down. The redhead watches, surprised, and quickly pours him some more. "Did they dehydrate you or something? Aya... I've never seen you so pale. We should get you to Satya--"
"No."Amir says firmly. "I'll be fine. I just... I need to see maata aur pita. Are they in?"
Synder stares intently at her brother, he returning her intense gaze with one of her own. Eventually, she relents and sighs. "... They're in their office."
Synder assists Amir in taking him to their parents office, wanting to make sure he actually makes it there and doesn't collapse on the way. There are curious looks from their maids and butlers, questioning whispers among a few as they walk. Amir gives them a small wave and brings a finger to his lips, hoping they caught just what he meant by the gesture. They would simply nod and go back to what they were doing.
Eventually, through the many halls, they arrive at the door and knock. There is some movement from behind it, then the door is slowly opened to reveal their mother. "Y-- Amir!" She gasps, quickly bringing the eldest into her arms. "Oh, I am so glad to see you! And not dead this time! Though..."She pulls away a bit with a slight frown. "You do look it. Is everything okay, mera sitaara?" She pulls herself fully away before he could answer and ushers them both inside where his father sits behind his desk, looking up from his book with a brow raised.
"Namaste pita,"Amir says, giving him a half hearted wave. "Sorry for, ah... Dropping in?"
"Nonsense, Amir," He waves a hand dismissively. "You're always welcome. I'm surprised to see you though. Your letter stated we search in 80 days...? We were near ready to send out a search party for you."
"Aha, well... the job was done. Just... I have a favor to ask."
His mother brings herself beside her husband, both of their brows quirked in interest. "What is it, Amir?"
He searches through his bag and pulls out small labelled pouches, setting them down carefully in front of them. "These... these are what is left of my friends... Can we bring them back? They were all good people... I... I can't help but feel at fault for their deaths. T-they shouldn't have..."
His father raises his hand to stop his son from continuing on. "Say no more. It will be done."
Amir looks to his father as relief washed over him like a wave. He bows his head. "... Thank you, pita... Thank you..."
His mother smiles at the interaction. "Very well. Now that is settled, I would say you should go off to get some rest, but you best be off to see Svana first. She's been waiting for you, you know? She's been wanting to show you something. I think you'll be very proud of her."

Kira was dead. She could see the edges of Arborea on the horizon, feel Garl Glittergold's presence as he called for her...but then there was another call. The small gnome hesitated for a moment that was not a moment, torn between the two, then gave Arborea a little salute. "I'll be back! But until then, I have a couple of tabaxi girls to find." The little gnome gave in to the call of the resurrection, her eyes flying open as she breathed in and looked at the people gathered around her, some of them opening their own eyes as they escape death themselves. "Hey, guys! I guess you won, huh?"
In the immediate moments after a character's death, the soul is in the process of leaving. Consciousness leaves the body, and the life essence is thrown into the dark, shadowy chaos. For this minute, there is nothingness--or, perhaps, a vision of distant realms, a glimpse of the future that might contain some prophetic words.
During this minute, there is still a threadbare connection between body and soul; a Revivify spell can work instantaneously, pulling on the thread without a conscious decision from the soul itself. The soul does not have a choice in this matter.
Much as the Feywild is the plane of teeming life, the Shadowfell is the Plane of Death.
Populated by recently-departed souls of many mortal creatures, and by some monsters native to the twisted plane of death, the Shadowfell is the harshest of harsh environments. A barren, shadowy wasteland makes it difficult for much to survive for more than a short while, and any strong emotions are liable to attract the attention of the horrid Sorrowsworn.
The Shadowfell is an empty echo of the Material Plane, a wasteland and waystation before the ultimate end. All souls that arrive on this plane feel the pull of the Beyond--a light on the horizon, an unknown frontier--and most choose to accept the pull and pass on to whatever follows.
Those of a particularly strong will, however, find a way to resist the pull. Either through the arcane essence that ties them to the world or through sheer force of personality, these individuals maintain their connection to existence and consciousness for up to ten days, and can hope for rescue or find some other means of returning to their bodies.
"Thank ya kindly, Astra. I'm not quite in the mood to join Moradin and head off to the Great Anvil in the Sky. An' now that I think about it, I might go take a nice holiday on a beach. I could do with it after goin' on this adventure."

The spirit world was one forged by the Ki. It was everywhere, in everyone, in all living things - and if a feeling could be used to describe it, it would be "joy".
Zyn's spirit flew through the currents of the Ki and she found the presence of her parents and grandfather. The Ki was in her, and she was one with the Ki. She laughed and she cried and she connected with the spirits of the dead - of which she was now a part of. She was free. She was one. She was Ki.
She felt a sensation. A tugging. Magic was working on her in some shape or form. Could it be? Did..they win? Is it possible? She looked down for a moment, sad. But..happy.
"I have to go now. I'm sorry! I love you!"
When she materialized back on Toril, her body slowly woke and she opened her eyes. A snake she recognized popped it's head out to make sure she was ok, and she caught glance of it. She blinked, not believing what she was looking at, but then her mouth slowly curled into a smile.
She was so overcome with joy and happiness at seeing the snake she laughed until she could laugh no more.
