(OOC: Unfortunate; I’ve never been able to not find Kenkus adorable after CR episode 22ish).
Sylivar will quickly mutter to the group, "Try not to kill it," and meet the Kenku’s stride, smacking it in the shoulder with his Quarterstaff and then proceed to jab his elbow into its throat, attempting to non-fatally knock it out.
Gaèl steels himself for the incoming onslaught. Respecting Sylivars comment, he follows him into battle, intending to strike the Kenku but trying to avoid any fatal wounds.
Gael, you have overcompensated. You're so cautious to not kill the bird creature that instead of pulling your punches, your strike slows down so that the kenku's natural erratic movements evade the strike entirely. Unfortunately for the bird, both of Syl's strike true and hard. Syl is used to sparring, throwing powerful blows in non-lethal ways. Syl's staff knocks the bird off balance, leaving it open for a quick strike to the throat. You hear a crack. It shows in the way the Kenku responds. It should not have stepped out of the shadows like this. It made a mistake. Instead, of trying to fight, it will disengage, dodging between Gael's legs and back into the shadows along the eastern wall.
Dra'vos and Gil, you're up.

Dra'vos lets out a small annoyed grown at Syl's request but accepts it, "Fine I will do my best not to kill it. It have have clues at to what happened here anyways." Dra'vos casts Light on his crystal then enters the room to find the runaway kenku.
Gil follows Dra'vos into the room and scans the far wall for any targets. Not seeing anything immediately he casts Dancing Lights, sending them out into a fan pattern in front of the party extending just beyond Dra'vos radius of light. "Fly my friends" he says to the lights as they fan out.
Gil and Dra'vos seek after the wounded bird. As Dra'vos walks past a crate, he perceives too late an unexpected rustle before a knife starts streaking up towards his hide. You hear two more boxes crack open as two more birds pop out of crates at the far edge of the room, shortbows at the ready, firing at the source of the other lights, Gil.
The split second's warning is enough for Dra'vos to change the potentially fatal stabbing into a mere scratch upon his scales, an annoyance rather than something that would inflict pain. Gil is less lucky. The first arrow pierces the air right next to him, drawing his attention to the far end of the room. He looks over in time to see a four foot tall bird creature say in a deep voice, tinged with orcish accents, "Xanathar sends his regards." The arrow flies and sinks itself into Gil's chest.
(Dylan's up, then Syl and Gael; Also sorry for the late post, I had a very early morning with work -_-)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Eekz slowly peaks over the gantry and lets loose an arrow from his short bow, aimed at one of the Kenku attacking Gil and then slinks back into the shadow.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Dylan swiftly closes the distance to the nearest kenku, ornate rapier in hand. He would normally prefer a more defensive style of dueling, when one on one, but with Gil bleeding from an arrow wound and at least three creatures to face he goes on the offensive.
Rapier: 10 Damage: 4
However this style clearly is not his forte and his mistimes his strike, skewering a crate, not a bird.
Dylan attempts to strike at the kenku who stabbed at Dra'vos. The bird dodges, leaving Dylan to strike the nearby crate. The bird dodges directly into Thom's swing (?what kind of weapon are you using?), where he strikes the kenku hard, eliciting a high pitched squawk of pain.
Gael, Syl, you're up. You still haven't found the first kenku, Dra'vos, Thom, and Dylan are all within five feet of the second, and the two with arrows are on the far side of the room, on the south side of the map, about 60 feet away. Gil's having a bad time.
