There does not seem to be any mechanisms attached to any of the statues. You do notice that each weapon can be removed. Maybe they need to touch something related to the statues to activate the portal.
“Lead the way!” Harshnag rumbles. Under your direction he removes each of the weapons in turn and pokes them to the rune you tell him. After a few moments all of the runes alight and a ghostly fog swirls in the archway “Nows your chance! Into the arch!”
Beyond the thundering archway lies a hexagonal chamber whose walls rise 50 feet before tapering to a 90-foot-high apex. Standing in each corner of the room is a life-size statue of a giant holding up a heavy, iron lantern with one raised arm. Each type of giant is represented: hill, stone, frost, fire, cloud, and storm. A cold, magical light radiates from each lantern, illuminating a giant corpse lying on the floor beneath a shroud of frost in the middle of the room. The corpse looks like it has been here for some time, preserved by the cold. Next to the body rests a giant, frost-covered morningstar.
The giant appears to have fallen in battle, his body is covered in puncture and crush wounds indicative of being on the receiving end of a Morningstar. As you touch the body to make come to this conclusion a massive ghost appears hovering over the body. “Whoooooo are you? And why have you come to the Wye of the Allfather?”
Leo bows his head in respect to the dead and replies
we seek assistance. The giant clans are at war with each other and this war is now consuming all other lands. We need help to stop this war and reunite the giants
“Hmmm this is what we were told before my death. I can show you how to activate the oracle. If it helps please take the breastplate and the jewel in my possession, I no longer require them. To speak to the oracle you must stand in the centre of the the glyphs, over the Kong rune, and ask a question. The oracle will answer you. The oracle can only answer a limited number of questions, indicated by the lot torches around this chamber.”
“The ordning between them has been broken by Annam the All-Father, the greatest of the gods. To rouse his children from their complacency. Now the giants vie for Power, glory, and the favor of their gods, so that when the ordning is remade, they are elevated to the top.“

Harshnag, if I may?
Jhee-Kharr picks up the axe and touches it to the 'Ise' rune carving
With effort Jhee-Kharrnath shuffled over and presses the axe to the ise rune. It glows upon contact with a pale blue light and stays illuminated
Hah! It worked!
Let's match the rest of these up shall we? Harshnag? Zephyr? We might be best placed to do the hefting here.

Everyone coming? We might not get long...
Jhee-Kharr raises his guard and steps through the arch
Leowin, Zephyr and Harshnag follow suit
The dead giant wears a golden breastplate
Leo follows suit, weary of what lays ahead

Survival 7
Leo spots nothing untoward other than the corpse and no clear cause of the giants death
Leo turns to the rest. What could bring down this giant? How long has it been dead? Do you think the same fate could await us?
Leo goes to inspect the corpse

Leo Thanks the ghost and turns to the group.
what should we ask first?
Carilius moves forward, standing within the centre of the glyphs,
Gracious and powerful oracle, enlighten us with your wisdom. Tell us, why are the giants attacking and spreading havoc wherever they go?
