Yelling and sounds of movement can be heard within the room. Arikon can act before the Redbrand begins winding up his three-balled flail.

Arikonfire an Eldritch bolt at the burly Redbrand. The magical strike is enough to send him toppling over! The wooden door swings open from the momentum, and the interior can now be seen.
This long room is partitioned into three areas, with iron bars walling off the north and south. Filthy straw lines the floors of those cells, the hinged doors of which are secured by chains and padlocks. A pair of disheveled human women are held in the cell to the south, while a human boy is confined to the north. All are dressed in...Redbrand cloaks? They have iron collars fitted around their necks, and look with confusion in their eyes.
Outside of the cells are three Redbrands, who have just recovered from the surprise ambush. Among them, Maglathrecognizes the black-horned tiefling from the town square. The tiefling grits his teeth as he draws a dagger.
"You dare meddle in our business again? You will pay for this"
(Redbrands are 20ft away)
The tiefling directs his allies to attack. The other wield shortswords and attack. One lunges at Maglathbefore attempting to push Jebto the ground.

The second slashes at Maglathand Murmen, unable to reach the others as the two melee fighters block the door.

The tiefling stays back this round, but opens a vial of black liquid and dips his dagger into it.
Maglath brushes the first attack away with his shield, but that lets the second attack through where it bites into his arm.
With the war hammer already in hand, Maglath smashes down at the first attacker, and keeps his body in the way to prevent the swordsmen from getting through to the others.

Jeb spins out from behind Maglath to attack the uninjured redbrand ruffian with his readied rapier as it bursts into eerie green flames. The first ruffian is briefly surrounded by the green flames before they leap at his comrade that futilely attempted to deny the massive Maglath his return strike.
Action: Jeb casts Green-Flame Blade and strikes the unwounded Redbrand.

Bonus Action: Jeb disengages and withdraws to open up space for any others to strike at the two meat shields for the Tiefling in the rear.

John, angered by the plight of the prisoners, fires his crossbow right at the most injured Redbrand's gut. Arikon follows up with a sizzling energy bolt.

Lyre seems put out by Maglath’s prevention of earning additional pay. Who were they to deny payment? Hadn’t they just rushed their lives to free the prisoners? Regardless, he motions for the family to quickly retreat from the stronghold through the direction the party has already traveled - at least any enemy would be already defeated along that path.
Afterwards, he accompanies Maglath at the coppered doors before doing his usual routine of checking for traps, locks, and any movement beyond the frame. He asks the party if they should take a more direct approach of storming straight in or if they should attempt to be more stealthy.
(Now that Arikon and Jeb, and by default John, aren’t being controlled by anyone, what will happen to their characters at the moment?)
