Gling's arm lowers as the bandits rush the trio. "What ho!" it responds just before the two blades come crashing down on its chest, leaving dents and tattering the toga a little. In response, the construct drops its chin a little and reaches back to grab the handle of its maul. At the same time, its armor appears to "puff up", expanding off its body with an audible humming noise. "That's enough," it says, swinging its maul at one of the bandits.
(OOC - I'm not sure by your description as to how far we are away from Jhoni and the pirates in combat with him. Is that the 200ft or was that number to the end of the docks with the captain?)
Merric sighs, having been dragged into yet another scuffle. He runs down towards the group of pirates, stopping about 30ft from them (if my movement allows me to get that close). Pulling out a gold coin with an etching on one side, he points at the three pirates that appear to be singed and burnt, flipping his coin for each of them (2, 5, 1). Nodding at one of the pirates that got hit with fire, he then points at two more, including the one in combat with Righteousness' new ally (4, 6).
Catching the last coin flip, Merric grins, cutting his finger on a dagger to get a drop of blood as he points at the three chosen by Tymora and says "How about you just enjoy a little lack of luck" (casting Bane, Charisma Save DC 12).
Seeing you talking to the Blue Boys earlier, and now seeing them associating with the strange creature before him was apparently too much for this guard to handle. It was probably his day off, and he switched duty with a friend so he could have the weekend off to go to the festival on the best days. Now he has had enough, and demands some normalcy from the lot of you. Being not much older than the oldest Blue Boy, his demands for order are not well met. More rude gestures from the boys, which TlakShik mistakes for symbols of friendliness and begins to immediately replicate to the best of his ability. This sets the guard into a shouting frenzy. He lowers his spear to a defensive position and begins to call for reinforcements from the nearby barracks.
TlakShik, Mallus, and Elric, you have time for one turn each before the reinforcements arrive, please roll initiative to determine who goes first and tell me what would each of you like to do?
Sorry, I am not getting any notifications of posts, is there a thread to join?

Tlak-Shik mentally tells the guard, "I am Tlak-Shik, I mean no one harm who does not wish to harm me. I am here to hunt a dragon."
Looking at the 'boys' he says in a click filled voice, "I 'click' you see, 'tlick' friend is being'" He hold his gythka loosely, in a non-threatening manner, thought the excitement amng the guards is causing him a bit of concern.
"Tlak-Shik hunting dragon, 'tchilc-tsick', be you helping?" His head swivel between the guard and the 'boys' causes his compound eyes to glitter like a fistful of gems. In a sign, for those who know anything bout Thri-Kreen, of his uncertainty, Tlak-shik rubs his 'child arms' together creating a buzzing vibration sounding somewhat like what a giant grasshopper might. He turns slightly so that he faces the city walls at a an angle.

This new development was quite odd. Elric regarded the Trhi-Kreen and nodded in agreeance. It seemed they shared end goals, as far as Elric knew. The albino Half-Elf holds up his left fist out toward the guard displaying his signet ring, his head follows as his face becomes stern and regal, his voice matching as he addressed the guards "I am Elric the Tenth, Four Hundred Twenty Ninth Prince of the Melnibone Empire, here on my kings journey to offer my aid to your kingdom and it's people. I request audience with your ruler. Now compose yourselves." He says forcefully but calmly.
Elric wan't much of a fan of the idea of throwing his name and station around or barking orders, but he felt this was getting out of hand. He refused to spill innocent blood this day over naught but prideful foolishness.

You suffer disadvantage on attacks and attacks against you have advantage while prone).

The sound of a talking bug in his brain is too much for the young guard to handle, he promptly passes out from the shock. His companion, assuming that TlakShik had somehow caused this, begins to charge the Thri-Kreen warrior, but only makes it a few steps before being tripped by one of the Blue boys, who then scatter up the path into the city, leaving TlakShik more confused than ever. The guard is prone at your feet. At that moment, you notice a halfling member of the city guard standing up the path, watching the events unfold and making his way toward you.
"Tlak-Shik not 'tlick' trouble looking for, 'clic', hunting dragon for," Tlak-Shik says loudly. He will adopt an at rest position, sitting down and resting his gythka across his 'knees'. "Not enemies, 'klac'." He will make no offensive moves, but will not hesitate to defend himself in the least violent manner possible - if strong words do not work, knock them down, if that does not succeed, break a finger, then an arm, leg, et cetera.
"Looking for weapon mates." he adds calmly. And very slyly, "Food not."

I do use that sequence, getting up and trusting my AC 18 to protect me, oh, OOC, is "talking a free action"? If so, on any nearby surviving pirates, I would like to roll for intimidate: 21
Righteousness: "not exactly how I would have handled it, but it gets me over here...*moves head around, and they hear a pop in the neck* So, anyone else want to continue or are you lot gonna come quietly?"
forgot to add reason for edit: "dice rolls not yet available for this section. had to add a space so it would actually roll.
Outside the inn: Mool indicates that the first thing you two(Merric and Righteousness)ought to do is go to the Lowtown docks area of town, and see if any adventurers have come into port recently that may be able to help locate the lair of the dragon, and to see what news of attacks have come in from other nearby areas. He tells you he will arrange for the Crier to call a town meeting later tonight at the temple courtyard to gather all the volunteers and make a plan. Having finished his meal, the hulking Barbarian offers his help as thanks for the meal if you would like it, and he tells you he has many friends in Lowtown who may be able to provide information. Not wanting to risk offending him, you decide it may be best to allow him to tag along.
The three of you are on the stairs heading down the cliff toward the docks, when you notice a skirmish has broken out. A Half-Orc is squared off in the middle of the pier, facing 6 men with cutlasses. Just as he looks as if he will be run through, a bolt of flame launches from the fingers of a nearby female elf, scorching one of the pirates ,then another from a nearby male crisps a second pirate.
Looking farther down the dock, you see the source of the pirates, a long sailing ship where you see another 6 pirates coming up from below decks. One of them is carrying what appears to be a long pole with a metal pipe affixed to one end of it. You can see the captain of the vessel watching the fight on the docks, yelling something the crew on deck. You are around 200 feet away from the end of the stairs where the elves are, and another 30 from the center of the docks. The barbarian sees the proceedings, and begins sprinting toward the action, bellowing out, "BAAAATTTTTLLLLEEEEEE!" with just a little too much glee in his voice.
Jhoni will grunt as the pirate nicks him with his blade and will attack with his sword and will bonus action unarmed strike.
Jhoni cuts the first man's neck, and he falls to the slick wooden planks with a gurgle before sailing to Avernus..(assuming since he's dead, Jhoni uses his unarmed strike on the second reachable pirate but misses.)
The pirate nearest to Jhoni attacks to hit:14 damage: 6, while one of the two behind him maneuvers to get behind Jhoni to try to flank him attack(w/adv) 6 damage: 2
Elelyel Wis Check: 13
"You want this? You got it!" Elelyel rushes to the pirate trying to attack Jhoni. A wild laugh spills out of her as she swings her greataxe. Attack: 16 Damage: 8
As Merric rushes to aid in the battle, Elelyel charges in to split one of the pirates in twain, while Koric's fire magic burns another to a crisp. During the charge, the two of them notice the crew remaining on the ship leveling a great "staff" of some sort at them over the deck rail
DMOOC:Merric, I'm gonna make a big assumption here and say since you rolled low on init, you just reach the fray as they dispatch the last pirate on the docks, leaving you 30 ft from the ship. you also notice the crew aiming what appears to be some kind of weapon at the five of you, and I'm also gonna assume you use bane on 3 of them, just to keep things going. 😅
DMINC; As Merric's spell takes effect(I rolled real dice this time for their saves, it did not go well for them, lol), they suddenly begin to fumble with the weapon, just moments before you hear Gnirm(Jhoni's mutinous former first mate) cry out," You like to burn folks with fire, do ye? Let's see how you like ours!!!"
TAKA-FOOM!
The blast from the arquebus is deafening, and as the smoke clears from near the ship, the six of you(the barbarian has made his way to your position by now), you see with some amusement that the pirates weapon seems to have mis fired and explode 3 of the remaining 6 pirates on deck. Gnirm is shouting to the crew to set sail, realizing he is now at a tactical disadvantage. The barbarian screams out,"FILTHY DOGS, ILL RIP YOU ASUNDER!" and charges down the dock toward the ship.
Koric, Jhoni, Elelyel, Merric, Righteousness, please roll for initiative.
East woods:Ai'ryn casts Mage armor, but a surge of his innate wild magic causes the plants at his feet to grow rapidly and he is restrained.
two of the bandits rush forward to meet the oncoming construct, the first swings his scimitar and rolls a21 to hit , damage is 2 on a hit,, the second rolls a 20 the damage is 5
Letting out a small yelp, the Merchant begins to try to turn the carriage away from the woods facing south, he is only able to get the horses halfway turned this round.
Gling's turn next, then one bandit, then Tegid, then the other bandit.
This roll is for after Gling's turn (just doing it now while I have some time)
Tegid sees the bandits attach Ai'ryn and comes up to attack one of them.
Attack: 13 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.
**EDIT to do damage roll (in-built macro not working) Damage: 10
EDIT:SORRY, I OOPSED THIS encounter a bit. TL;DR, three of four bandits are now dead, one is attacking Ai'ryn.
The merchant has turned the carriage and has begun to race southwest toward the ports of Androll.
Tegid, Gling, and Ai'ryn, please roll initiative.
The remaining bandit makes a morale check, fails on a 10 or higher : 3
(( I am going to be afk for a few hours, so adding this now ))
Hearing the captains orders, a wicked grin appears on Koric's face. He has listened to the grating voice of the so-called captain for several days, and knows it well. He moves close enough to the boat to cast Minor Illusion.
Suddenly, the captains voice can be heard shouting, almost in panic, "Belay that order! She's holed! She's going down. All hands abandon ship! All hands abandon ship! All hands...", the last sentence repeating continuously, drowning out other sounds.
Movement: Try to get behind cover (boxes?) within 30' of boat to cast spell; if no cover, move within 30' cast spell, then move away -- ideally to cover.
Action: Minor Illusion - DC: 15 if they spend a turn examining.
Don't know if I need a deception roll with Minor Illusion to get the voice right, but here's one just in case: 18
After a bit of explaining, TlakShik relates to the other three though his telepathic psionic abilities his intention to prove his prowess as a warrior by defeating the dragon in this area he had heard rumors of...Nivlen is able to explain to the reinforcement guards arriving on scene the nature of the misunderstanding, and after some stern slaps from the commanding officer, the unconscious young guard is roused from his slumber.
The blue Boys are gone from the scene, and the guards depart, warning Nivlen to keep an eye on the strange traveler. As the four of you are discussing the dragon attack, you notice a carriage about a half mile or so from the town, speeding down the path toward town at a breakneck speed. The man at the reins wears the clothes of a Merchant, and he keeps looking over his shoulder as though he is being followed. The carriage rocks back and forth over the uneven path, so much so you wonder if the man is about to lose a wheel.
The man is making a B line towards your location. What would the four of you like to do?
DMOOC: man, I love how this story is playing out, it's even more interesting than the first time I ran it for my friends irl. Really enjoying everyone's characters, and I'm so glad I finally tried out this site! As the first round of encounters comes to an end I'll be assigning exp (maybe some loot as well🤷♂️😉), and giving the characters a couple hours of down time in game to do any downtime type stuff they may want to accomplish, and then begin the next set of events. I apologize for the sporadic timing of some of my posts, but I think things will get a bit easier to read as the party gathers together(I hope, lol.)
I hope you are all having a good game so far, thanks again for playing!

Nivlen will decock his crossbow and sling it over his back as it appears that the previous conflict is resolved. He will try and remember the faces of the Blue Boys as they retreated into the city. He’s pretty sure he will encounter these guys again while executing the duties of his office. He has glanced more than once at the large insectoid (no disrespect intended), he just has never encountered one before.
Now that a new situation is evolving, he will dash to a position behind the cart(s) waiting to enter the gate. Although he is not an imposing sight, let alone from a half mile away, he will take up a stance to wave the wagon to slow down as it approaches. He will also scout a retreat or a dive away location should the driver not slow down. He will yell back over his shoulder, “Guards, process these visitors quickly and then be ready for our anxious new arrival.”
