Arisys seizes the opportunity to test out her draconic and rolls the word around on her tongue speaking it out loud. "Ashardalon." Maybe if she doesn't recognize the word someone else might.
(I think there are 5 of us, correct me if I'm wrong. 23 silver and 4 gold would split -- 1 Gp + 2 Sp for 4 people and I'll say 15 sp to Lar-Dun who gets the extra as a finder's fee :) )
(Sounds good to me. Also, I'll roll ahead just in case. I deleted that previous post last night because DM already resolved the investigation check right before I posted lol)

Summer, you don't know what the inscriptions mean or recall any sort of puzzle relating to them, but you do remember that there are several other languages that write using Dwarven runes.
Lar-Dun, you have heard of this before. Ashardalon is the name of a dragon who lived in this general area long ago. He is famed for going on a rampage and destroying a lot of the surrounding land. Cities have rebuilt since then, but much of the damage to the terrain remains.
Genken chuckles as he hears Arisys say the draconic word, "You need to roll with the r a little more, but otherwise not bad. I've heard people butcher my language worse than that." He moves over to the word on the wall and runs his yellow-scaled hand over it.
"That's why I know that name." Lar-Dun says. "Ashardalon. It was a dragon. He rampaged across this land, leaving much destruction in his wake. I just hope that he is dead now." He says, looking around worriedly. Why is this name written outside this place? Lar-Dun wonders to himself.

The left door is not locked. It leads into the north end of a wide hallway with a single door on the west wall. The south end has collapsed, and rubble completely blocks the passageway.
"Left sounds good for now," said Summer as she stared at the door, nervously. As adventurous as her spirit was, she was very much a social creature whose abilities dealt with the art of conversation. Alas though, she knew she had to trust her allies. "Whatever door you open from here on out Arisys, the rest of us can ready our weapons or spells in case danger lies beyond."

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"I think this place may have more to do with dragons than we first realised." Arisys draws the group's attention to the carved stone door. She will attempt to pick the lock. (16).
Not being able to get the right angle, she asks " Does anyone know how to unlock doors? If not, we may have to go the other direction, or find a key."

Genken steps over to Arisys, "I can certainly give it a try. After all, what is the use of a lock for if not to be unlocked?" He chuckles to himself as he kneels to attempt to pick the lock (Thieves' Tools: 17).

Arisys will walk towards the southern wall to look at the door in the western wall.
Ondrej draws his greatsword and follows Arisys closely, staying near the front of the group.
The door is stone and has a rearing dragon carved in relief on it. A keyhole sits in the dragon's open mouth.

"We can go in the other direction," Summer spoke. "Just as long as we remain careful."
Genken steps over to Arisys, "I can certainly give it a try. After all, what is the use of a lock for if not to be unlocked?" He chuckles to himself as he kneels to attempt to pick the lock (Thieves' Tools: 17).
The inner workings of the lock seem incredibly complex, and despite your best efforts, you're unable to get it open.

"I can try to smash it open if you like" Ondrej offers, clenching his grip on his greatsword.
